2017 ATH Caleb Farley Commits to the Hokies

The Hokies added a versatile athlete to their 2017 haul.

[@IAmCalebFarley]

The Hokies have added another 2017 commitment, this time from Maiden (N.C.) HS ATH Caleb Farley.

Farley announced the move on Twitter Friday afternoon.

"I had earlier stated I will be verbally committing to a college June 11, but I have made a decision and would like to move on in the recruiting process," Farley wrote. "I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity as well as my family and friends. I would also like to thank all the other schools that were recruiting me! I am committing to play football at Virginia Tech."

Farley stands at 6'3" and 180 pounds, and is not rated by the 247Sports Composite ranking, though 247 itself ranks him as a 3-star prospect.

Other suitors for Farley's services included West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Ohio and Wake Forest.

We've reached out to Farley for an interview and will provide updates as they become available.

Welcome, Caleb!

Excellent!

I guess he's super nice to janitors?

For some reason, this was the first thing I though of:

Perhaps it's just me, but was actually quite refreshing (and shocking) to see that comment from Burden. Reminds me of a quote my dad always referenced:

Excellent. NC is very under recruited by us

It is?

I'd say so. Charlotte is easily is the closest major talent center to VT and we have what? one kid from that area? for how close we are to west NC, we should be doing better

There are, what, 7 or 8 power five schools within 3 hrs or so of Charlotte? Plus a few non-power Five schools. VT recruits Charlotte pretty hard, but it's a very competitive area.

I'd say the staff "recruits" a lot in NC, getting commitments from there is another thing.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Great height . Good athlete. Hopefully he works out better than the other Caleb. Fuente will find a position for him.

I hope for success for all the young men that don Hokie colors. Let's not be guys falling off horses, if you get my drift. Hokie fans are better than that.

First highlight that cornerback will go to uva.

Wow, what an "athlete"! Glad we got him and imagine he'll be playing offense.

He looks very fast. Don't know what type of competition he's going against but he looks like he has acceleration and speed that could be dangerous in the WR screen game. That is, if he is being pegged for WR.

Not to knock his skills because he sure looks the part but those were some of the worst defenses I have ever seen.

Welcome to Hokie Nation!

Thank God Whit upgraded VT's van down by the River! I think it really sealed the deal here.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

I like that he pump fakes and accuracy, but is it just me or does he have odd footwork when he throws? He seems to be throwing off his back foot, and does a hop.
