Another ESPN Analyst recognizing the potential Buzz and Company have next season

While the article doesnt necessarily hold any earth shattering news (Other than the writer is a UNC grad and seems to know how to write in actual sentences) to most of us fans of the program, its just one more step in the process of the outside waking up to the potential this program has going forward.

Isnt this true though:

The first victory for Virginia Tech in the 2016-17 season is already in the books: knowing that coach Buzz Williams will be around for a third season.

The writer recognizes the talent the roster will have

Along with LeDay, the Hokies return a pair of guards who averaged double digits in scoring. Seth Allen, who transferred from Maryland, was the team's second-leading scorer at 14.7 points per game. Justin Bibbs, who averaged 11.7 points in his sophomore season, led the team in shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.

That trio is enough of a core to make the Hokies competitive, but what also has them excited is the potential from their trio of rising sophomores: guard Justin Robinson, wing Chris Clarke and forward Kerry Blackshear Jr. Robinson started in 10 of Virginia Tech's final 11 games and scored in double figures in seven of those games. He also led the team in assists with 97 despite playing just 23 minutes per game.

Touching on the potential

Williams made Virginia Tech relevant again in just his second season as coach. With so many of his top players returning next season, imagine what charm his third year could bring to Blacksburg.

It's never too early to look at what's to come. Over the next few weeks, we will give you a peek at what is ahead for teams in the Power 5 conferences and some other teams expected to be players on the national scene. Next up: Virginia Tech Hokies.

So.... much.... hype....

No offense but you're misreading the sentence. They're doing these for every power 5 team and teams that are expected to be good in smaller conferences. Not saying that the hype isn't good!

It's been amazing to see on Twitter all these transfers that have VT as a possible destination. Even if none of them come, the fact that they are thinking about us is testament to Buzz and his effect on the program.

This doesn't even account for Outlaw and Hill. Those two are question marks with huge potential.

I don't know what to expect next season, but it has a very high ceiling.

The article accounts for Hill after discussing the transfer of Pierce and Hudson but doesn't discuss Outlaw.

ESPN blocked at work, was basing off of your quotes from the article. I'm still hoping those 2 can come in and surprise some of us.

Yeah, sure, but tell us something we didn't know, ESPN. It's taken too long for anybody not in Blacksburg to realize that we'd make noise soon in the ACC, they should've recognized it during this season more so than just after
