So we might not have gotten alot out of Henry on the court here in his limited time but Buzz Williams pointed Henry to an opportunity to possibly play a different professional sport and so Shane is one of eighteen US athletes vying for two spots in the Australian Football League Draft Combine.
Great read on Shane Henry & Australian Rules Football tryouts. #Hokies https://t.co/hVtwGzkgkl— VT Men's Basketball (@VT_MBBall) April 28, 2016
Would be great to see him be successful here.

Interesting. Hugh Greenwood (Austrailian native and former point guard for UNM) did the same thing. Had an opportunity to play basketball in China, but opted to sign with the Perth Wildcats instead.

the game looks manic but it can be BRUTAL. Similarly to hockey the experience live is much more rewarding because there is action all over the field.
I love watching aussie rules football. Probably because the majority of the hits happen when someone is in the air...
I enjoy it on TV as well, but watching live is really impressive.
That's almost as mesmerizing as the Kyshoen blowing up Devin Street gif.
Almost.
It an absolutely brutal game
Holy crap! Was that Jason Statham I saw at 0:38??
US Football: Good protective equipment, terrible tackling technique
Rugby: No protective equipment, good tackling technique
Aussie Football: No protective equipment, terrible tackling technique
Then there's this a-hole:

I think in the long version of this clip the defenders come and blow him up after the play for acting like a tool
So I guess the "defensess receiver" is just for sissy Yanks.
I would say there are probably a lot of aussie rules football stars who suffer from deteriorated speech later in life, but its probably tough to tell
This really is an awesome game! I had no idea...it's like football, hockey, soccer and rugby all in one! Pretty cool!
also, the field is massive and quidditch shaped
That's interesting stuff. Would be cool to have a Hokie doing something
internationally.
you mean aside from the hokies playing in european basketball leagues?
Honestly? Looks like a good way to be broken and maimed for life. I'd stick to the roundball and keep my teeth.
