1) Love how Bitter linked to the Teller thread on TKP. We're useful in the real world! Wahoo!
2) Antone is a redshirt senior. Can he play in 2014 if he sits this one out? If he can't return until Oct/Nov, he would be a pleasant surprise the following fall.

I don't believe so. Pretty much the same situation as Edwards last year. He's already redshirted and hasn't missed another year due to injury. This is it for Antone, as far as I can tell.

Does this mean he can't go on a religious mission for a year and play next year? I'm sure there are plenty of people who need to learn the good news about the mystical origins of the Exumtaur and his Webb-saving exploits.

If a player has never had a redshirt (like Joshua Stanford) and play in less than 3 games because of injury, he's eligible for a medical redshirt. To get a 6th year, a player needs to miss 2 years due to injury (so a regular redshirt doesn't count).

"Manning, who was about 150 pounds when he first reported to Blacksburg in the winter of 2012, said he thought he needed to add extra size to "be able to compete with those SEC guys," noting the Alabama opener."
Beamer was right about one thing- even if we don't beat Alabama, it was a great idea to have them on our schedule. Our guys are hyper-focused over the summer because of that game and that will translate into better play throughout the entire year.

I didn't take the news well and had to vent. I sent the below email to my Bama co-workers. Now I feel a little better.
Subject: Dr. Andrew's is a filthy liar
Bama fans,
Dont think I am not seeing through this mans game clearly. He is twisted and just as corrupt as everything else that is Bama. Telling Exum, our DB with a torn ACL (if it is even really torn HA!) that he will not be ready come Aug 31st for the game vs Bama. Hes afraid, thats whats really going on. He knows that if Exum plays he will completely shut Cooper down and give VT a big advantage, and just like every other Bama fan with a little power, or influence, he is exploiting it, horribly. Exum worked his tail off and is ready to go. Like a super hero, he didnt let the assumed torn ACL keep him down. And Dr. Andrews, like the super villain he is, throws kryptonite on the whole situation telling him 1.5 to 2 more months. How convenient. What a horrible person.
All right, Im done, enjoy the rest of your day.

"You cant hang your head. Youve just got to get back after it. At least now I have something to look forward to in two months."
Someones been hanging out with his coach a lot. Hope he makes a full recovery in time for ACC play!

That is correct.

Whoa. Whoa.... Whoa

haha.. jk. I think its pretty cool too. You rock Andy
Ugh, I didn't even realize it. I should have said Yahoo. I'm sorry. I'll go sit in a corner.
On what basis are medical redshirts usually granted?

A quote that stuck out for me

We definitely saw it in 2010 (y'know, after the whole "horrible, 0-2 start" thing...)
