Thanks for posting. I watch Tyrod every time I can. This rain sucks though.

same here...Harbaugh just complemented his time management at the half, and Cody Grimm actually ran him out of bounds on his first snap.

Tyrod is looking sharp as hell! I live in the Baltimore area and the announcers have a crush on him. Can't blame them though.

in Fuller we trust

I love Tyrod. I miss him so much

I'm not a fan of either team, but is the audio on Fox messed up on anyone else's set?

Edit: Comcast Sports is fine, however.

I like how Barber was complementing both Tyrod and Grim... Saying they both played for VT, my school's rival!

Seahawks: Kam Chancellor # 31 - Looked good..Had 3 tackles last night against San Diego...

yeah I completely missed that the Seahawks were playing later! damnit

Eddie Royal was in that game as well, playing for San Diego.

From ESPN.com's recap:

1. FLACCO'S THE MAN, BUT ... : Ravens backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor directed two long drives that finished with touchdown passes to LaQuan Williams and Aaron Mellette. Baltimore has a solid running game with Ray Rice, however they have evolved into more of a passing team. Taylor showed he's capable of making some plays. Even more importantly, he got the offense into the end zone, albeit against Tampa Bay's reserves.

I really do think it's only a matter of time before he gets a shot. He's always been productive when given the chance.

I never wish injury on anyone and I won't on Flacco but I just really hope some situation arises that leads to either Tyrod being traded or getting a chance to start a meaningful game. The guy deserves it.

Agreed. I think we see him and Kirk Cousins getting a shot at a starting job in the next year.

I think there are way too many average/below-average starting QBs in the league right now to keep him on the sideline.

While I agree in thinking that both Tyrod and Cousins will both get a shot at a starting job eventually, in my mind Cousins is the next Kolb, Flynn, or Cassell. A team will over pay for him based on a very small sample size and he will end up turning out very mediocre. In Tyrod's case I think he brings more to the table in terms of athleticism but being a Hokie I may be biased.

being a Raven's fan, it's been great watching him the last 3 pre-seasons. At this point it's clear he's adjusted to the league and is looking like a veteran around the other second stringers...I know the coaches love him, and I'm guessing the newbies fighting for a spot (and the coaches evaluating them) love the fact that they don't have a rookie/lackluster backup under center screwing it up for them. They know they will get more reps due to sustained drives, looks at 2 min offenses, better passes thrown their way, etc.

He's made a nice progression and I'm excited for what's in store for him.

He's also got the "it" factor. Tyrod's a winner.

I'm a Steelers fan so I REALLY don't want Flacco to get hurt. Best. Contract. Ever.

What teams do you think Tyrod would have a (meaningful) shot at gaining a starting position? I know Arizona just got C. Palmer, but I'd really like to see TT & RMFW reunite in a backfield (if Williams ever gets healthy, damnit).

Buffalo, Miami, Jacksonville, and Kansas City are all possible landing spots where he could realistically challenge for a shot at the starting position, I think.

Williams might get cut from what I've read. But as for where Tyrod would have a chance, keep in mind that a lot of teams have quarterbacks who are getting old and don't have long term solutions after that. And when I say a lot, I mean around half the league. There's gonna be a major run on quarterbacks in the next couple years.

The ones on that list that jump out to me are Buffalo and Jacksonville. Those are fan bases that need a kick of energy more than anything right now; something to get excited about. Tyrod is definitely an exciting player and someone who you would pay to watch play.

Realistically though, he could go anywhere that there is a need for him. The QB market when his current contract is up will likely be the deciding factor. I expect that he will end up signing with somebody who needs a QB at that time and has no commitment to a current guy at that position. He will probably have to win the spot over the offseason and in camp if he wants it.

Aything can happen though.

Agreed. Buffalo, Jacksonville, Oakland and KC are the top four in my mind. And then you have some possibilities like Arizona or maybe Cleveland (depending on how 84 year old Brandon Weeden works out) in the near term.

During the off-season I was clamoring for Philly to make a trade with Baltimore for Tyrod (though I doubt Ozzie would have made such a deal) because I feel that he would be a good fit for Chip Kelly's offense, but they decided to sign Dennis Dixon and his bionic knees and draft Matt Barkley. I guess Chip is still trying to figure out what might work best, as they have two pro-style QB's and two dual-threat QB's in camp realistically vying for spots.

Out of those teams, maybe Miami is a good fit. He'd be much better off replacing Cutler in Chicago or Freeman in TB, where he'll have greater chance of success right away. Personally, I'd like him to replace the overrated QB for the Texans.

Buffalo in my mind isn't really an option because they just drafted Manuel this year. They will give him at the bare minimum two years before looking to go in a different direction if it doesn't work out. By then I think someone else will of already made a move for Tyrod.

Completely forgot about that.
Speaking of replaceable FSU QBs..... Wonder if Minnesota is in the market?

Williams will never be healthy. literally his only healthy year, including high school, ever was his freshman year and thats probably because he had his redshirt year for his body to rest

all maroon everything

People always forget about Minnesota when this question arises. Christian Ponder sucks, we all know this, and several of us have seen this first-hand. The thought of Tyrod and AD together in one backfield terrifies me, but it's also glorious.

Not to nitpick, but I have to disagree on the potential landing spots.

Miami spent the 8th pick on Tannehill last year. He had a solid rookie season that was completely overshadowed by the greatest crop of rookie QB's ever. No way they give up on him so soon.

KC just gave up a lot to get Alex Smith. Whether or not that was prudent is up for debate, but I don't see them cutting ties with him after one season.

Buffalo just drafted Manuel in the first.

Just saw Danny Coale 81 play briefly. Glad to see him playing.

@AMB4VT

I'm no Glennon hater like some, but it must be hard for the Glennon family to always be upstaged by Tyrod.

... and David Wilson, Hosley, and Tweedy for the giants.

Sorry about the "H". Typed too fast and for once autocorrect failed!

I was just screwing with you. I just like that I can say Blitzburg(h) for the Steelers and Hokies.
