1) All but two media questions for Bud Foster were focused on Kendall Fuller. Kendall has locked down the nickel corner spot, and now is in competition for the starting field corner spot with Brandon Fayscon. It sounds like Fayscon will be at the field spot when Kendall is on the slot. Foster commented that he can't recall any true freshman being more ready to start at Virginia Tech than Kendall, and noted that his fundamentals, body positioning, and athleticism are off the charts. I would not be shocked if Kendall ends up being the starter.
2) Coach Beamer commented that the inside (centers and guards) positions on the offensive line are pretty much set. He is looking for consistency at tackle, hence Mark Shuman getting reps against McLaughlin and Gibson at both tackle spots. He didn't tip his cap as to who was the favorite.
3) Coach Beamer commented that DJ Coles is heavy, and that may be contributing to his continued knee trouble. He was very complimentary of Charlie Meyer.
4) Beamer attributed Logan's struggles last season to the inability to run the football last season. Beamer said he thinks that Trey Edmunds can be that stud back and commented that Trey made some nice catches in practice over the last couple of days. He also likes the move of Caleb to tailback.
5) Beamer was asked about Zach McCray. Beamer complimented his character and athleticism, but commented that he needed to "play faster." That worries me, because McCray seemed to struggle at defensive end because he was overthinking the position.
6) Beamer again complimented fellow Abingdon High School graduate Mitchell Ludwig as a kickoff specialist. He called Ludwig's sore back "our biggest problem in the kicking game." It sounds like Beamer is very happy with Hughes at punter, Journell on field goals, and Ludwig as the kickoff guy. He noted that Hughes hang time really makes him stand out.
I lost the feed for the offensive players and Scot Loeffler. Please check out twitter.com/andybittervt for more comments on the offense.

Foster also credited Kyle Fuller with coaching up Kyle before he could participate in full team drills. He noted that Kyle has a future in coaching.
Here's my thinking, as crazy it as sounds, what if Torian Gray becomes the DC, Jack Tyler the Linebacker Coach, and then Kyle Fuller as the secondary coach? That would be epic!

#Hokies reserve offensive lineman Adam Taraschke has decided to give up football, according to associate AD John Ballein. No reason given.
This is bad news. Taraschke was the best young OL besides McLaughlin in spring practice. He will be missed down the road.
My thoughts exactly. Can someone hook us up with a "Pitcher's F-bomb" or "Michael Scott: No, God, no" gif please?
Ask and ye shall receive...

Danke.
does this mean grimesy will try to snag another lineman in this class?
I've been wondering that myself. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to it.
Ugh, lot of bad news coming out from the media day courtesy of Andy Bitter.
Ok, the tweets I embedded disappeared.
Lets look at it this way: Only the strong will survive! (Or remain!)
I want to hear more about this "um count"
I love JC. He just seems like a great dude and has so much love for the school. Hope he surprises everyone and kills it this year both inside and out.
Am I senile, or do these two remind me of Wilson and Evans?! Good Job guys! If you're gonna cut up, keep it funny and clean! Have fun and carry on the tradition!
