Virginia Tech announced Nick Acree was promoted to a full-time role of assistant director on Ben Hilgart's strength and conditioning staff. The former Hokies' OL/DL previously served as a graduate assistant.

Awesome to hear.... It's a shame he wasn't able to put his talent and physical size to the next level. I remember staying next to him at a party, (and im no stick, 6'4" 230 lbs) and from back to chest and shoulder to shoulder, Nick was at least double of me
I had class with him my freshman year and I'm 6'5" as well and the dude was terrifying at first sight but one of the nicest people I have met at Tech

I remember guarding him in pickup basketball all the time when I was at Tech. I'm 6'3" and only 180lbs soaking wet so it was a pretty massive mismatch. Luckily for me he had such big biceps he couldn't even make a layup, unluckily for me he got the rebound every time. Nick Dew used to make a point to piss him off every day.

That was his freshman year. He used to date this little 5' 8" blonde girl in West AJ and it always betwixt me how he could be so large.

I was walking adjacent to Nick Acree for a few minutes on my way to class one time. When I got to class, I noticed that I had fallen behind by a full semester because of the gravitational time dilation. This is why, to an external observer, it took me a semester longer to graduate than my peers, even though we took approximately the same number of classes.
True story - Christopher Nolan came to give a speech at Pamplin a few years back and saw Acree walking around campus, at which point he had the inspiration for the movie Interstellar. Why else would the black hole be called 'Gargantua'

I love this. I started my powerlifting career when I was at Tech and there were a handful of former football players that would go compete with us, however no one ever came close to touching this sort of a total. Acree is officially not human. Absolutely amazing.

Holy shit, I believe the guy who plays the mountain could probably do all his stunts for real.
That's absurd for both men. Lift/weight ratios tend to go down the taller the lifter gets but this is astronomical levels of gains.
