I noticed that the Bama fan thread was hinting at this a little, and for the sake of keeping that about primarily Bama fans, I'm doing this here.
I'm very curious as to who you TKPers evaluate as the fan bases that you consider the best you've seen, other than ours, obviously. I'm also curious to see who you all think are the worst. Obviously, the usual suspects are going to be here: Nebraska, PSU for the good side; and Miami, WVU for the bad side.
I'll start this off. Easily the best group of fans I've ever dealt with have been Clemson fans. In my experiences with them, they've never been anything short of classy. Even at the 2011 ACCCG, the fans I dealt with were all brimming with happiness and pure emotion, not vitriol and hatred towards us. I found that incredibly refreshing, and noticed that it continued when I traveled to Death Valley last season. They're just genuinely nice people, primarily.
Even though I've hated the school since high school, way before I was ever considering being a Hokie, Michigan surprisingly has very classy fans as well, at least the ones I saw in New Orleans.
On the flip side, never have I encountered a fan base more disillusioned, rude, and obnoxious than Rutgers. I thought that because I live in New Jersey, that I had seen what Rutgers fans had to offer, but I was not prepared for dealing with them at the Russell Athletic Bowl. Needless to say, I take great pride in wearing anything VT when I'm out in NJ now.
