I feel he and Mitchell could be the 5th and 6th recruits. And Tank is the 5th recruit we've gotten since the weekend and I said "could the 5th recruit be the 5th Fuller?" Ironically it kind of was the 5th Fuller, he said he looked up to Kendall and he plays the same position and will be a high 4 or 5 star...Mitchell and Capehart would also explain why the defense coaches and Burden both seem excited...

My God. I'm not necessarily good at telling which recruits are going to be good college players. I tend to be impressed with most recruits' highlight tapes (after all, they are the highlights), but one thing everybody can see is speed. And this guy is a burner. Fastest player on the field in every clip and it's not even close. He looks like he'll be an instant playmaker
If y'all want to talk about fast, check out this guy from Blacksburg High... Not a huge dude, but can outrun just about anybody as a freshman.
Can confirm... student section thought he was going to score every time he touched the ball. First game of the season he could've had 3 or 4 touchdowns if it wasn't for penalties
That might be the fastest high school tape I've ever watched. It's hard to gauge whether he is that fast or everyone else is that slow. Or a little of both

His name is Tiquest Terry. I haven't talked to him in a while though so I'm not sure about offers and stuff like that.
Does anyone teach how to- or adjust to- sit and fill space on an inside slant anymore?
The kid is a freshmen in high school (a.k.a. a 14 - 15 year old boy). Getting them to know the entire playbook is impressive. Getting them to know when to make adjustments during a play is extremely rare with high school underclassmen.
The point is, you can't teach speed and this kid seems to have it. Everything else will come in the next 3 - 4 years before he takes a snap in college football.
Oh, I agree. Maybe I should've clarified that my comment was directed towards the Defense (LB).

It does seem like he runs 1 play... the touchdown play! It does look like he scores everytime he touches the ball. So why would the coach run any other play where he didn't get the ball?
He's does have good balance and vision to compliment his speed. All a joy to watch. I would love to see him the the Fuente offense/special teams! An offense that he would fit right into.
The coach might have to setup that play, in order to get that TD result.
Kid has time to grow, and hopefully he will entertain playing for his hometown college.

I don't know of any good places to see decent play designs in action, but I can say that if you wait a few more weeks French will be reviewing some great ones against Tennessee.
A lady I work with knows this kid. I am pretty sure she said that he was invited to camp at FSU.
I have seen a lot of high school football, especially at that level in Va, and that is by far the most impressive freshman Ive ever seen. Maybe the best player with the ball in his hands. Unbelievable that is a freshman. A long ways to go, and he may already be topping out, but he could really be a once in a generation type player. And at Blacksburg? We better start having some good seasons fast to entice this dude.

The company that owned (owns?) Kings Dominion built this same roller coaster in several theme parks. I have ridden it at Kings Dominion, Carowinds, and Cedar Point. I don't recognize the back ground from any of these, but it is an old clip, and they probably built more in other cities.
I walked the Rebel Yell track a few times doing the summer job of ride maintenance my freshman and sophomore years at Tech. If I could pause that gif, I could confirm it.
if it is rebel yell, this was taken after they added the backwards version. I seem to remember when I was a kid they only had a forwards version and added a backwards one which mirrors the forwards one sometime later (but that could be 15-20 years ago at this point)
I may be dating myself, but I remember before metal coasters. They had the two coasters both going forward and they would race each other. You could split up with your friends, race each other in super slowmo through the hours long line, and then race in the opposing coaster. The one in Carowinds straddles the state line, and you could race in the NC or SC one (though the line actually in perpendicular to the tracks, not splitting it into two.) They turned one around to keep it interesting after the metal coasters made it less popular. Not sure if there was ever only one track, as they share a lot of supports in the middle, but that could have been way back (before '73).
You remember correctly, Rebel Yell and the clones at other parks were always mirror-image twin track "racing" designs.

The trees on the left side of the gif definitely match up with Kings Dominion. If it was a more recent video, you should be able to see some stuff from the water park to the right of it.
It's definitely a cool gif. I am happy to say that I was the ONLY kid in my family that did NOT work at Kings Dominion. I spent my summers at Ukrop's in the air conditioning.
Ukrops was best company I ever worked for. Great pay, birthday pay, anniversary pay, internal promotions.
Nubinile was a courtesy clerk in High School. They offered employees a free cell phone from GTE wireless in the 1990's! All you had to pay for were the minutes. Which was something like 0.50 a minute local calls only. I still have the same phone number from that plan.
Yes they were. I worked for them from my sophomore year of high school through college (got my engineering degree from VCU, they gave me money but got a Masters from VT). I was also fortunate enough for Ukrops to give me $1500 a year for school. Thankfully Ukrops bakery items can still be found at the Martin's stores here in Richmond.

I worked at the Mechanicsville store from '99 through 2005. I started as a courtesy clerk, moved to a cashier, and thankfully moved to daytime operations. What store did you work at? Good to know about Amazon. I'll have to check it out.
2000-2004, started as bagger,, then cashier then meat clerk then fill in for every dept. I started at Ghetto Ukrops on Midlothian near old Cloverleaf mall, then Forest Hill, then Ashland, then Hull Street closer to Richmond before I left.
Great memories of Ukrops from that time period. Going to get free rainbow cookies, and eating breakfast pizza were probably the best.

I am going to say that is Kings Dominion. I don't remember the lake running along the tracks that close . I used to drive the road between the lake and coaster on a cushman but there was vegetation along it then. It isn't the coaster at King's Island in Ohio (sister park). That must be from mid seventies when it first opened.
The lake was originally used for water skiing shows.
I definitely wouldn't want to ski on that lake now. Thanks for sharing some cool details of the park. My earliest memories are from the late 80s as a 7 or 8 year old riding the monorail to see the lions, giraffes, and other safari animals that they had, walking through Yogi's cave, and riding on smurf mountain. Good times! In my old age, I have turned into a Busch Gardens snob and we take the family out there. Their preschool pass definitely makes it easier on the wallet.
Old Kings Dominion is BEST Kings Dominion. Safari on the monorail, the train, smurfs. Loved working security there from 2002-2005. Getting to see behind the scenes and go into the ride graveyard.
That train ride through the Land of Dooze in the mountain was the most dangerous ride in the park in 1980. It became Smurf Mountain later on. I worked a lot of overtime helping do construction on the mountain.

I love Charleston in the Spring, but am not a big July/August fan. It's so hot, humid and buggy you have to race get the door closed when you come and go to keep the thousands of mosquitos from making a break for the AC.

that is correct. Only Squires ABP and D2 are open today. As much as I look down on D2, having been to some other colleges' dining halls, I can say that pointing it out and saying "this is the worst you would ever have to deal with" says a whole lot.
Right. All the other dining halls shut down during the summer. When I worked at Owens if we stayed in town over the summer and wanted to work we had to work at D2.

Dang I know stats are exaggerated online but it says the kid runs a 4.35 40. If that were actually true he would probably be the fastest QB in the country at his age.
According to 247 per the preview of the post, it was 4 star ILB Ellis Brooks (Previous Duke commit) and 3 star RB Jonathan Taylor.

Just watched his highlights. Kid is the real deal. Has great arm strength, and the ball seems to come out of this hand effortlessly. In addition to his arm, his legs and his ability to run are incredible. Lets get him Fuente!!!

When is Hunter supposed to announce?
He has said in some public interviews that he intends on taking all of his official visits and then committing sometime in December after his HS season is done. It would take a YUUUGEEE push by Fuente and co. to get him locked up before he takes his officials. That being said, it would help our pursuit of other top talent immensely and perhaps Fuente can sell him on that.

Nathan Proctor attends the same high school as former Hokies DE Nekos Brown. My uncle is a teacher at Lackey as well and said Nekos is back working there too. Hopefully he is in Proctor's ear and is helping bridge the relationship with Bud. We need LB depth badly.

Not that I consider myself an uber pessimist, but until mid signs his LOI I'm never putting much stock into Crystal balls and rumors and such. We have been burned too many times, or at least let ourselves get hyped too often only to get crushed.
Understandable. I haven't really felt crushed by any recruiting this summer. I do think commitments, especially when they are trending the right direction overall, are reason for optimism. I also think we have some imminent commitment announcements now, and therefore more reason for optimism when those become public

Cape is "probably" one and one from '18 - Crossen in my opinion....a guess....
Mitchell is a real long, long shot....so don't expect him to sign with VT....but we are still hanging around.
Lastly....Proctor is going to be a DE for us or anyone...according to most. All my opinion of course....

I agree. Like you, I'm pretty confidant Capehart is one of the two. But yeah, new info makes me think it's someone else besides Hunter joining him soon (still on defense). Would love Ellis Brooks since we were in his final 2 before; but no sources on that one. Great that he was w/ Hunter.
Hunter is definitely talking us up to the other recruits & it's still probably only a matter of time. Regardless of the order of the announcements these coaches are doing a great job selling the Hokies brand and everyone we pursue is giving us a look it seems like- From PA, NJ, DC, VA, to FL and even another Michigan kid. Idk how they do it all and still get a head start on the future classes.
Edit: Having an HC and a DC both hitting the road hard is clearly part of it. The camps (esp. in GA) have made a difference already too. Kudos to Frank also; the timing of this transition was perfect in nearly every way

A recruiting guru once said a player's recent "following" and "likes" on twitter are very telling. With this new NCAA rule, I was being slightly stalkerish.
With that said, Tahj has an interesting group of people who he is following within the past few days.
On the flip side, Jordan Williams is no bueno on his recent "following."
Jordan Williams "liked" a tweet that was from a Tennessee football fan account that said something like "Jordan Williams is likely headed to Clemson" lol.
It isn't Jordan Williams, and Williams would probably be too big/not twitchy enough for Bud's scheme anyway. He is already as big or bigger than Mihota and isn't any faster. That doesn't mean he won't be a beast, but fit wise, he isn't the best.
I am praying that somehow they pull a miracle and flip Luiji Villan along with getting Garbutt back in the fold. Villan was my favorite of all the DE's they were recruiting.
