While some lament the loss of Manning this weekend (which indeed sucks), I prefer to focus on the positive. Take a look at a few quotes from a Brandon Facyson Q&A from earlier this year.
When asked about his goals for this year...
I definitely want to start. I'm not looking to redshirt. If not starting, I wanna be a nickelback or something like that, but I definitely want some playing time. As a freshman, I wanna be all-conference and first-team and any other accolades I can get. I'm shooting for the highest, so I'm not looking to settle anywhere. I've just gotta stay hungry and grind every day.
When asked who he is looking forward to playing against...
We don't play Clemson of Florida State this year, but I really wanna face Amari Cooper at Alabama. We're close to the Georgia Dome, so that'll be a chance for all my friends and family to go and see what it's like. I'm looking to put on for Newnan, so definitely looking to good things in the Georgia Dome and continuing on this season.

I remember reading this back in January and thinking chances are that this kid is in for a rude awakening. Then, he is the best newcomer on D at spring camp. Now, he is looking like a legit playmaker in fall practice and will likely be on the field a lot this year, including the game vs. Bama.
His comments point to a champion's mentality and that is exactly what we need more of. We need guys that have the attitude and the ability to be ELITE. I am just singling him out here because he is a new face. The same could be said of Exum, Gayle, etc. Guys that exemplify the Shane Beamer comment that "We are not going to back down from anybody." Amari Cooper? Check. Sammy Watkins? We have an island for you son. AJ? Meet #99 .
Facyson has got to play a real game before we should start turning the Kool-Aid bottoms-up, but it is quite nice to see him looking the part so far.

I agree. The past we have had too much level headed modesty that Frank gives our team. Yes that's nice when you are speaking with them, that they aren't cocky a-holes, but on the field that is exactly what we need.
God I hope he doesn't want to be Nickleback. Their music sucks
Nickelback is the worst band EVER
That's impossible in a world where you have/had Hanson.
shockingly I have a good friend who is a guitarist in a pretty lame but popular band...but he is a really good dude and has toured with a lot of different people and he said the Hanson brothers were the most down to earth guys he met and that they were very talented musically when they jammed together....Nickelback definitely takes the cake here they are offensively bad
ok, you have to tell us what band he's in
Geoff Saban Orchestra?
They were hardly a "band"...just three brothers messing around. Correct me if I am wrong but I heard the Hansons were in the craft beer brewing business now.
I think they are still trying to be a "band"
I'd rather try their beer. :)

IT'S CALLED MMMHOPS!?!?!?
Ok Hanson, you alright.
I chuckled when I googled it at work earlier. Hanson bros got jokes lol
It is with great regret that I say what I am about to say but, welp, here it goes...
My wife loves Hanson. When I first met her during our days at Tech and she told me this, it made me seriously question her taste in...well, everything. She owns every album. Its more than just a, "oh they hold a dear place in my heart because of how much I loved "Mmmbop" when I was 8". I've heard most of their songs somehow or another over the years we've been together - even saw them perform at a music festival - and I will say this: they're not that bad as adult musicians. Will they ever get out from under their teeniebopper stigma? No. But they've incorporated a full brass section and even did a pretty mean cover of Radiohead's "Optimistic" on their live album. Side Note: I always wonder how many 12 year old girls were at that show/listen to the album and wonder "whoa, what Hanson song is this?" UGH...
Now, are they worse than Nickelback? A resounding NO. Not even close. Seriously. Next thing you're going to tell me is Scott Stapp is the greatest musician to ever walk the face of the earth. Is Hanson great? Mehhhhhhhhhh...not so much. Now I just hope my wife doesn't read this thread...
Google disagrees:
(I know it's old, and doesn't work anymore, but I still find it amusing)
Anyways...how 'bout them hokies
Welcome back from your boy band discussion. We are discussing champion caliber football players here.
Seriously though, we need to get ready mmmbop the shit out of Bama...
For the love of god...please...please...please...do NOT make TKP t-shirts with this on it.
Full disclosure...if you did, I'd buy and wear one (I'm a lemming).
Sorry guys!! That's my fault. Will speak only about football from now on. ;-)
Sad to say I "earned" my 100th turkey leg from Hanson...but oh well
And here is your 112th from a horse...on a treadmill
I resisted the temptation to downvote you. You're welcome.
He's from Newnan? That's where I'll be staying for the game (sis lives there). I guess we won't be the only ones rocking VT gear there.
Almost halfway through the season, and his predictions seem to be coming true. This quote is from an article in January.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I definitely want to start. I'm not looking to redshirt. If not starting, I wanna be a nickelback or something like that, but I definitely want some playing time. As a freshman, I wanna be all-conference and first-team and any other accolades I can get. I'm shooting for the highest, so I'm not looking to settle anywhere. I've just gotta stay hungry and grind every day.
I think its possible that if the season was over today he could be first team acc
