I not only loved these, but we beat UMD to a pulp with them. Bring back the Nike Pro Combats!
We also beat LOLUVA in LaneNorth in these Unis...
EDIT to add: and it was a game that mattered. I'm pretty sure winner would go on to represent coastal in the ACC CG. That was the only year London made it to a bowl game IIRC
I believe we wore those Pro Combats in 2009. UVA was awful that year and it was Groh's last year. That beat down had something to do with that.
2011 is was their only bowl season with London.
Agree, and in general I am all for anything that doesn't have the godawful shoulder stripes.

That was the first POS I noticed on the helmet. I don't get it? Maybe it's a symbol to show that they can be beaten by little lost boys in tights that are guarded by a twinkling fairy.

So I did some investigating for this helmet and it turns out the design is pretty clever. Would you look at that!

That one was pretty bad, but I'd have to put the Hokie tracks helmet as worse than that.
tracks were bad. but foghorn leghorn takes the cake. Because both foghorn leghorn helmets and cake suck.
Nike really wanted to do something with the hokie bird, like they did with the oversized boise bronco or the tex tech red raider. if only they would have gone with the fighting gobbler instead of retiring it during that bowl game, if you could call it a bowl game.
Nike doesn't really control the helmets, though. All those designs between the Pro Combats and the orange and tri-color last year were all done in-house.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but anything with the "Blacksburg" number font goes to the bottom of the list. Includes both Pro-Combat jerseys.

Unpopular Opinion Alert: I hate the All Maroon Everything uniforms. Most of the time with them on they look like unitard poop out there, especially under the lights. Literally, the lights can give them the look of walking turds on the field. Plus, our winning % with them on is.... not good....
