I'm just curious as to what sort of uniform we could see out of Virginia Tech on the 31st. I'm hoping for something maroon heavy, but that would only happen if VT is the "home" team. When does that sort of information usually get released?

I do believe Bama is the home team. Tuscaloosa is much closer to the ATL anyways.
Agreed I think Bama is considered the home team. Thus, we will probably wear white tops with maroon pants with stripes. That's my guess at least.

I don't think it's either. In 09 we were home and we were the lower ranked team and farther away

FWIW, ESPN's scores page has Bama up top and us on bottom, but I'm not sure how consistent they are with neutral site games.

Hopefully the "home team" will bring loads of ticket holders along with them... We always travel well, but Alabama is so much closer to Georgia Dome. I want to see at least a half-and-half maroon on one side and crimson/white on the other stadium. Maybe even a little maroon and orange spillage into their half of the stadium.
Sad to say, but I bet we wear our orange jerseys... The players really seem to like those. Hopefully we at least wear maroon pants

bama is def the home team, just how it was designated, last time we played them in 09 we were the "home" team. our fans are being encouraged to wear orange being that bama is "crimson" itll look like the whole stadium is hokie colors. hence one reason the tkp #beatbama shirt is orange
Didn't we go through this for last year's FSU game? Maroon is maroon. Crimson is crimson. Know the difference, and there isn't a problem.

Oh no, I wouldn't expect anyone on TKP has any trouble with the distinction, but it bothers me when people around campus use that sort of logic to say we shouldn't wear maroon in certain games.
As a fan I typically wear orange to early season games any way. Early season=hot orange is much cooler than maroon. Makes my decision normally haha
I feel like I look better in maroon, and would wear it, except my game clothing gets chosen for me by a grumpy 60 year old.

My Keydet dad was always astounded by the UoD at Tech. At VMI, at least they wear the "white ducks" (which are pure cotton) when the weather is hot.
Virginia Tech will most likely wear Maroon in the game despite Bama being the home team. I've noticed that Bama prefers to wear their away whites in big games even when they are the designated home team (2012 SEC Ship, 2013 BCSNCG).

Georgia was the home team in the SEC title game (alternate by division) and ND was the home team in the BCS Championship (ranked #1).

I honestly don't have a problem with all white, I think those jerseys look sick, and this way it doesn't give the players the opportunity to wear orange
I guess I can live with that. When you said the players liked orange, I started to get really scared we would actually wear orange against Alabama. At least we know that won't happen
Beamer has had a thing for wearing white when given the opportunity no clue as to why. Interesting thing is last year the CFA kickoff started getting both teams to wear dark (home) unis. They had two games last year and both was like that so I was wondering if they would make us wear orange but guess not.
Maybe the all-white has to do with having Bama wear their darks? Since Bama seems to like to wear white in big games.
I don't know how much I believe the all white being that its normally not decided till game week even in bye weeks. And in previous season openers. And how would a bama beat writer find this out before say...bitter
Got info from Rodney Orr Tider Insider. He just said they were in crimson hokies in white.
We look good in all white, but I'd rather see us trot out in all maroon.
FWIW, usually the uniform is picked by the team during game week. So I'll temper any expectations of what they will wear. Still plenty of time for that. And for a game this big, they will make an announcement of some sort so visiting fans can wear the same color.

We appreciate the recognition. Glad to see you here! In today's sports world my biggest complaint is going to away games and getting trashed by fans the entire time. I love rivalries, tough match ups, and competition, but we just aren't rooting for the same team on Aug 31, no big deal. Let's have a good game :)
I agree! people get way to upset over games. DOnt get me wrong I get upset when my team looses but I dont act like a low class moron. Like updye and those trees at Auburn. SMH we dont need fans like that. People like that have serious issues lol
Nobody wants to see their team lose, but I enjoy watching games with sensible fans of BOTH teams. Makes it fun, just don't want to have to fear for my well being.
