Awesome Sauce
"Does this creature move faster or slower than Mike London when calling time outs?"
"Faster"
"It's the dang turtle, isn't it?"
"Grandpa, you win!"
"I know sweetie, I've said that for years when playing Mike London."
(based on a cursory reading of the game's rules)
Shouldn't London be saying that to Frank though?

Joe needs to hire this beat writer soon! He can't TKP hard enough under all this stress.

This is his excuse to drink.
In all fairness I did see the forum topic, but wanted to front-page it so it would be properly cataloged: http://www.thekeyplay.com/category/tags/frank-beamer-retirement-chronicles.
In all fairness accepted. Also excepted.
Is this the same thing as Indian poker?
Sounds like how the settlers spread
syphillussyphilisLove the Oregon trail Yokes!
The creator of Oregon Trail humor says it's pronounced "gokes".
this deserves more legs
I miss that old man already and we haven't even played our first game without him yet.
This was Frank on Saturday in Chesapeake:
My man
Unlike last year where he looked and sounded haggard as hell on Saturday he just looked and sounded like an old dude. Much better looking.
Is there a new Dick's Sauce being released?
Sunday evening rimshot....lol
Badum-pshh
Ok somebody hit that giant softball....
Got him to sign my Shultz tray while he was there. Said it was the first time he's signed a tray.

Top 3 thing I've seen on this website.
It's bullshit like this that makes TKP the best.
Poor Shultz

But for you, good sir:

Does Frank have his rings stacked on his finger? Because that's the ultimate badass move
Nah that's just one giant ring
Hey! I actually saw you walk by after getting it signed while I was in line and had a good laugh about it.
Nice Sled!
I had a painted Bud logo on a Dietrich square tray that was my sled freshman year. I kept that thing for years and should have had it signed. Great idea!
This seems like as good a place as any to post my Beamer retirement story.
I took my boys, 5, 3 and 1, to the Salem Red Sox College Rivalry Night where they were giving away Frank Beamer Bobbleheads. My two older boys got chosen to wipe the plate off before the game (I guess that's something they do with a kid each game). So we are standing on the field pre-game, and I'm mostly trying to keep my 5 and 3 year old from sprinting out to second base while the 1 year old is strapped to me in a carrier. I'm looking at my 1 year old when I hear a guy say to my older boys "Hey there young fellas". I look up and it is Frank Beamer himself. He went out of his way to say hello to them and then posed for a picture.
This should go without saying, but he was so kind and gracious. He seemed genuinely happy to be interacting with my boys. He answered my fumbled questions about retirement, that he has heard a million times, and acted like I was the first to ask him about if he missed football practice. He seemed to be enjoying himself and retirement. It was a pretty cool moment for us and we now have a picture with the Hall of Famer that we'll treasure.
The real question here is did he miss football practice?
I asked him if he was getting the itch to coach. He said he was busy with a lot of projects. I assume one of the projects is practicing Head Bandz
Pics or I don't believe you!
I'll see if I can figure out how to post one
Ok, I don't know how to get it in the post, but the link works I think

The link does work! I believe you now!
FYI, to get pics on the site, upload to an image sharing site like imgur, then after posting it there, imgur will show you a link you can use to embed the uploaded image in blogs and websites
Thanks, good to know
Let's talk about Frank Beamer. Sounded good in the booth, and looked good. Despite ESPN split screening him over the game, I enjoyed his analysis. Glad the boys gave him something to evaluate, was able to talk like an unbiased former coach without having to use coach speak to cover up our ills. Would make a good part time color guy (game is too fast for his drawl full time),
I could listen to him dial out special teams plays all day.
I like Frank a lot better than Ahmad Brooks.
I like Frank a lot better than Ahmad Brooks ( the LOLUVA one).
If Mac Brown continues to get paid for his god awefull impersonation of a color commentator, then why not Frank?
Although to be honest I would hate to see him ridiculed the way Mac Brown is. While he would have to be miles better than Brown, I don't think live TV is his best retirement gig, IMHO.
Brown got into commentating as a move to stay visible while waiting for another coaching job. Now it's just getting sad.
Actually I am kinda liking Mack Brown. He's no Herbie or anything but he'll do just fine.
Frank is such a class act. I know it shouldn't, but it continues to amaze me how many people outside the VT community revere him. The respect for him is well earned.
From his interview, I found it interesting that Bud used to coach the punt team before Beamer oil over special teams.
This one hits right in the feels. Beamer's first retirement home game, with his wife, and BILL ROTH is taking the damn picture. All they need is Morgan Freeman doing the voiceover and we'll all be crying enough to fill Mountain Lake back up.
They showed Frank on the screen at the game and he got a great ovation. I think it was during the 3rd quarter.
