Saw this tweet in the twitterverse today showing Alabama's depth chart by recruiting star ranking.
Alabama's depth chart with no names, only recruiting stars (this will increase your stress) https://t.co/QlL9sd5uj9 pic.twitter.com/xAkgtHuKWc— Gray Hardison (@BellyoftheBeast) August 30, 2016
That link can be found here. Spoiler Alert: Bama 'croots good.

This is awesome. Thanks for puting in the time and sharing it.
If those by composite show only Scout as the outliar I consider them 4 STARS.
Looking forward to the 2019 version of this post.
A very unsarcastic "good job, good effort".
Well, now I gotta go play some Mario64...
this is interesting...I wonder how VT stacks up against the rest of the ACC (I know that would be a ton of work and don't want or expect anyone to actually do it...this was a rhetorical question)
Seems like we should have a 3* team...for whatever that's worth
I'm very slowly working on UNC's. But it will take me awhile I'm bad at this stuff.
Not exactly what you were asking for, but shows how recruiting is distributed between conferences and teams. Spoiler alert: College football is extremely top heavy, the ACC maybe even more so.

Excerpt: FSU - 8 top 100 recruits; Clemson - 6 top 100 recruits, Other 12 ACC Teams - 1 top 100 recruit
This is AWESOME. Thanks for doing it
It's amazing what a single 5 star CB does for our entire defense and Alabama has 5 stars backing up 5 stars. Any year they don't make the national championship game is a bust for them.
The fact that we played them within two touchdowns a few years back looks even better when you look at their star ratings
As Billy hite said We can do a lot with 3 stars. I have to say one thing though, of all the busts we had, it's mostly the 4 stars that have been a disappointment, 5 stars off course worked out. What do you all think of mook Reynolds? Real deal or just talker?
We should find out this year. With Bud singing his praises and the role he will play as a versatile guy in the secondary that allows the defense to disguise what it's doing, it sounds like he is a pretty key player (pun obviously intended) for this year's team.
I think Mook is the real deal. Versatile and can tackle in space. Plus he seems like a really good dude.
4 star busts get a lot more attention because more was expected of them. There are way more 2 and 3 star busts than 4 star busts but they go unnoticed for the most part because people may not have gotten as excited or expected as much of them.
This is great. It's interesting that in years past, this would probably be more full with 2 and 3 stars, even though we were winning more.
College football has changed a lot, or so I read. I only started following in 2010. I saw an interesting convo on Twitter earlier about Nebraska in the 90s pioneering S&C programs and how that edge eroded over time. Reminded me of VT and our special teams. Once the big boys adopt, the talent gap becomes more important again. And now the talent (by ranking) seems more concentrated than ever. I don't know if I have a point other than that the capitalism of college football is brutal
How about a depth chart listing what positions the players were recruited for or played in HS.
Well, the offense was easy. Anyone want to make one for the defense?
QB:

2. TE
RB:

WR:

WR:

Beat me by two minutes. Nicely done Civil
I think I can do that off the top of my head:
[Plays for us] - [Played in HS]
Offense:
QB - TE
RB - TE
HB - TE
TE - QB
OL - TE
WR - TE
Defense:
DT - TE
DE - TE
LB - TE
CB - WR
S - TE

Thanks!
