I remember when the idea of Virginia Tech playing Tennessee at Bristol Motor Speedway was nothing more than a rumor. It seemed more like fan fiction than an actual possibility. Turning a Nascar infield into a football field is a crazy idea, and the fact it is actually happening is even crazier. The Hokies have another opportunity to play Tennessee, a team I wish was on the schedule every year. Two proud programs separated by just 236 miles shouldn't have to go almost 8 decades since regular season meetings (10/2/37). Saturday night is going to be one to remember for both teams. The ninth time the Hokies and Volunteers will play football will be college football's biggest game ever.

Completely bummed I cannot make it to Bristol. Planned for a long time and the past month just blew up. It's ok though, I'll make it thru. I have this trailer to get me by for some time. I'll watch it again right before I go to bed...so I can have dreams like this
When I get up tomorrow morning, make some coffee, put a lil Bailey's in there, thank the big guy I woke up.
Then I'll sit and watch the Manchester Derby. After Zlatan scores his 7th goal, but Man U still loses, I'll celebrate.
And immediately turn it over to College Gameday, presented by Home Depot. Stare and watch intently. Still 10.5 hours to kickoff...but I do need something to eat and drink in the morning.
I'll look for SpiderHokies sign (Cavman falling off his horse, with a huge spider on the ground, and title "Arachnophobia!") When I see it, I'll do another little dance.
When noon hits, I'm going to be a little sad. Still 8 hours...and all these non-VT games on tv. The waiting is killing me.
I know I'm going to freak out in the afternoon. 2 growlers of double IPA just aren't going to do it, are they?! What if I need some different mojo juice? I need to get something else. Off to the store to stock up, just in case.
But I don't wanna take a nap, even though I know I should. I'll rally after...
