Virginia Tech football: Frank Beamer experiences 'Enter Sandman' with wife for first time

From the stands, obviously, but that picture shows quite some emotion from the man who built the program from the ground up.

The wildest part is that this picture was taken by Bill Roth.

We are in a new era, folks.

Shared by Bill on Twitter, but he didn't take it.

"Exit light..."

Dammit. Bill making me look like a fool.

Take a long look at yourself son.

Don't go blamin' good Mr. Roth.

I guess the /s was implied.

I figured it was obvious enough.

Frank got a huge standing ovation when they put him on the big screen.

And I think Fuente knows the fans are with him as the coach and Frank as the old sage of the program. I know it's been said before , but what a great job by Whit and both men to make it as smooth as possible.

The Dude Abides

Hell, even the students who were just sitting down during halftime and goofing off saw him on the big screen, stopped talking, and stood and yelled their heads off

Is there video of this on the internet anywhere? That was quite the moment.

I loved how Frank just smiled and waved at first but as the crowd got louder and he stood up, the look on his face gave me the impression that the feeling was mutual. We already knew that, but it looked so genuine. It looked like he and I both might've been on the verge of tearing up in that moment as he was standing there looking out at everything he built with his fans giving him a standing ovation.

Wonder what that is? Probably never will find out.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Oh word, looks like you lost weight, congrats

That picture was taken during the 1st time Frank and wife watched Enter Sandman as fans....awsome to see.

Also covered on TKP here, but worth its own thread I guess.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Seems to me he and his wife should have seen the Hokies entrance to "Enter Sandman" at the Battle at Bristol.

Still wondering why that didn't happen.

They didn't do Enter Sandman. It wasn't a home game.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

They were going to, but pre game was running short on time so it wasn't possible to get UTs band on and off the field for the opening of the T. So because that got cut, somebody from the UT camp threw a hissy fit and they had to cancel Enter Sandman too.

Yeah, that was my point. I don't care that it was considered a Tennessee home game. VT's entrance music could have been worked out, and the right song for a Saturday night entrance at Bristol Motor Speedway in front of a record crowd was Enter Sandman.

Had they played Enter Sandman at that venue, half the stadium would have gone nuts. Sort of like the other half went nuts to Rocky Top.

Frank doing commentary on the broadcast was awesome. It was clear that the man still has a fine football mind. I wish they would've sent the play by play guy off and just let Frank and Ahmad Brooks do the show.

Frank knows how to say "Corps".

Yeah, I caught that too.

To truly experience it, he's gotta get out there and jump with us fans!
