David Teel recently put up a blog post with a review of Beamer's new book (due out next month I think). Here is one of the most interesting nuggets to me:
* Hokies defensive coordinator Bud Foster tells Snook that he turned down an opportunity to join Kevin Sumlins Texas A&M staff prior to last season.
He also takes a shot at LOLUVA's recruiting practices and talks about how close he still is to Michael Vick. And he drinks Johnnie Walker Black.
Should be a good read. The whole post is here: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/teel-blog/dp-teel-time-beamer-book,0,14...

The surgery tid-bit is probably tied into his weight loss last summer.
That was such a mistake...fat Frank pwns skinny Frank
Yeah, I wondered if CFB was having some sort of health issue last year. Weight loss was just a bit more severe than "oh, I've been on the treadmill a lot", which was the explanation at the time. He looks healthier now.
When does the book come out? I'm hoping before I leave for the OBX on the 14th. Need beach reading material since sand does not mix well with electronics.
It's out now.
Thanks Skipper. Just haven't seen it anywhere yet. I guess I will order online.
I'll drink to that!

I'm incredibly touched by how loyal Frank Beamer is to Virginia Tech, how humble and classy he has always been and how he has always done things the right way. We can't ask for a better coach and public figure than Coach Beamer.
So very true. He's a great man and a great coach. We have been so lucky to have him.
Normally I wouldn't even think about reading a book written by a football coach. But I am genuinely
very interested in reading Franks.
This drew my attention, as I also mentioned to the Kenney family that Bill should get an OL coaching gig with Beamer. After the scandal, it was pretty clear that few of Paterno's former assistants were going to be retained, so I mentioned to Kathryn Kenney (coworker of mine, wife of Bill) that she should tell Bill to call Beamer (naturally, I wanted a new OL coach as we were still in the midst of the O'Cainspring era at the time). I don't think we were rumored to be looking at the time, but I was definitely trying to throw a wrench into the works.
Small town up here.
Co-worker? Kathryn Kenney works at a stable?
She's a fine Filly :-)
