That probably was the best part of that speech for me. Like Fuente knew that ECU winning...and really the Dukes and other minnows that have beaten us recently...was just wrong. And that we needed to set things right.

Amazing speech. He is so calm in the public eye but you get a sense of the fire that he has burning for the success of the program and for these kids.
Here's the other thing... he showed this passion before a game against the University of Eastern Carolina from the conference he just left. Easily could have viewed this as another warmup game for the ACC slate, but he treated it as a game to make a statement against a team that has been a thorn in our ass for a while. And we f'n buried them.
The entire Coastal Division has been put on notice. Virginia Tech has learned how to play offense...

Living in the desert with plenty of mellow mushroom locations, I'd say the pizza is decent. I'm not a big fan of their dough, but I do like their some of their combinations pizzas such as the Thai and Buffalo. My favorite thing about MM has to be the reverse happy hour after 10pm where all drinks/drafts and apps are half price. $2 beer and $4 order of wings makes one happy hokie!

Don't get me wrong, I WANT him to be the chosen one. I'm loving what he's doing. I think he's ignited a spark under Foster (who I think is still gunning for a HC job somewhere). I love the attitude he brings. What I want is for this to translate to sustained success. Luckily we have 3/4 of the season to see that.
I can see where you're coming from. Winning the games we're supposed to win is part of stabilizing the program. For him to get us back on a truly upward trajectory, we've gotta start winning those games where no one expects us to. Nothing wrong with holding out to see if that happens. I like what I'm seeing so far, too, but expectations are tempered until we start winning some big ones.
Winning the games we are favored in is an improvement.
Exactly this. Will he be the last coach of my lifetime at VT? Dunno, but I do think he has shown himself to be a perfect fit and the transition has gone incredibly well, I think, with all the due deference shown to Frank and Bud and Wiles, and, well, just the feeling around the program. Add in the obvious future in an innovative offense and the fact that we look and feel different, more energized, and I think we can give the seal of approval to Fu as a home run hire. I do understand the wait and see thing, but I'd rather follow the mo on this one and believe it is until I'm shown that it ain't.
Of your lifetime? Are you 55+? Even if he coaches another 30 years at Tech which would be extremely successful and a Beamer-esque legacy, you'd probably still be alive to see a successor
