So i just spoke with anOSU fan how they faired this past week against the dreaded BYE. He told me it was a tough game. The offense couldn't get the ball moving and as a result didn't score at all. But it has always been like that when you face BYE.
BYE has a historic culture of flying under the radar until its their week. And then BOOM they strike. You weren't ready for them, and they knew it. Since BYE is so dominant, the NCAA has allowed that these games not appear in your final win-loss. They serve as a humbling mechanism for the Icarus's out there who are flying too close to the sun.
The mascot of BYE is a secret known only to a few, and fewer who will speak of it. I, ladies and gentlemen, am not one of those people. I can only speculate as to who the mascot is. Perhaps the loch ness monster or big foot. Creatures that you may never see until it's too late.
Hopefully some of you have some thoughts on where the elusive BYE campus is and their mascot. Together, we can solve this mystery once and for all. Then, and only then, we can finally vanquish BYE. I believe in these kids. But you should never take BYE lightly.

Comments
UVA loses at home to BYE.
Historically, they get their biggest crowds for the BYE games
... or at least the same as any other week.
No way man. They would forfeit the BYE
BYE scores more points than fans at the UVA Spring Game or whatever the hell they call it nowadays.
SCOOP: Next year, LOLuva football is happy to announce their Spring Carnival with competitive maypole dancing, and artisan crafts. Football-inspired calisthenics will be held in the sideshow tent followed by a screening of The Lion King.
you had me until Lion King. Don't defile the greatest disney movie of all time by showing it at UVA...
Well, they're doing their level best to kill the sport I love. Might as well go after the movies I love, too.
Don't forget the hoops shoot station!
Hahaha great post.
The offense couldn't score against BYE, but the defense looked lights out.
Wait, is BYE code for wake forest? We're playing Wake again this year? WtF man.
Bye week is 0-0 score, right?

Ah I remember that moment fondly. I completely understand the celebration from frank after wake missed the FG that would have won them the game in regulation.
Bronco Mendenhall thinks he used to coach at BYE.
OR he thinks he is working there now... Brigham Young East
There's ALWAYS a wedding when we're playing BYE.
Apparently, there's always a wedding when we're playing, based on the comments this year.
A couple Hokie friends of mine are getting married the weekend of our Thursday night game against Miami. The thought process is that there isn't a game, so it's all good. I don't know if they're OK with having their anniversary on game day, or if neither of them are terribly optimistic about the chances of this marriage, but whatevs.
The date won't be a Saturday most of the time.
Or when it is, they can celebrate by watching a VT game.
I kind of like the sound of spending my anniversaries watching the Hokies play. If my wife were a Hokie, it would be awesome to go wherever the game is that weekend (hypothetically speaking, since she is a Cane and our anniversary is in January). I don't see the problem with making good use of the bye weeks or Thursday games, if you're dead-set on a fall wedding.
I was in a wedding during the Battle at Bristol (was not thrilled).
We got married in September and now we celebrate our anniversary at the tail-gate with all of our Tech family. Of course it has been 30+ years ago.
I feel so dead inside. Usually I can't sit still about the coming weekend because I get to watch my Hokies. But this weekend...just another weekend. I'm still going to binge watch, but I'll also get a few more hours of Destiny in.
Found the BYE mascot:

BYE has a velociraptor dancing around on the sidelines, getting everyone to watch. This is not their mascot. Their mascot is the other velociraptor that sneaks up on you from the side, just out of your peripheral vision.
Their mascot's name?

Byes are great weekends for getting yardwork done, if only the weather gods would stop the rain...
Remember when Big Ten teams used to schedule BYE and OPEN back to back to end the season? Really messed with the BCS standings.
FELICIA?
Also the only team we play twice this year. This week isn't as bad as the one before the ACCCG.
