I am really, really digging Laaser. He reminds me a lot of how Paul Heyman used to call ECW matches. He has a great commentator voice for standard action, but for big plays his voice drops an octave and gets gravelly.
How about a Joey Styles "Oh my God!"?

Man, I just can't get into his calls, it sounds so forced to me. Completely devoid of emotion, like it's just yelling because something happened. I miss Bill.
I like some of his calls better in the ECU game. He transitions to that more gravely, rougher voice when something "exciting" happens, but his timing feels off. Like he'll start with a normal call, something exciting happens, and maybe a second or two later than it should he transitions.
Doesn't quite feel natural to me.
Yeah, that gritty voice just does nothing for me. He sounds like a WWE announced. Almost like he is doing a parody of an over dramatic sports announcer.
See, that's specifically what I like about him. Then again, I think the world would be a better place if all sports were called by the guys who do soccer on Univision.
Soccer announcers sound authentic though.

I think he's way better suited to calling a high scoring spread offense.

Crazy that we can have hype videos made from one game now. Not sure that was possible the last few years.
When I become old and can't get it up, I will revert to VT hype videos, specifically BillDozers Power Hour, rather than waste money on da pills.

There was a recall of Hokie hype videos from years 2012-2015. It seems they needed more offense.
