Pro Football Focus praised Virginia Tech nickel whip Mook Reynolds' coverage ability.
From a pure coverage standpoint, Reynolds has been the best slot cornerback in the nation this season as evidenced by his 88.8 coverage grade that leads all power-5 cornerbacks. He's been targeted 19 times, allowing only seven catches for 25 yards, good for a ridiculous 1.3 yards/target. He's tacked on an interception and three passes defensed so far this year, but watch out this weekend as he matches up with Dream Team slot corner Ryan Switzer in one of the best battles of the weekend.
The Reynolds-Ryan Switzer matchup this Saturday is going to be lit.
With production through the roof the last two weeks, Switzer has emerged as our top option in the slot. He's third in the nation with 540 slot yards and tied for second with 3.80 yards per route run while in the slot. Switzer has made the most of his screen opportunities, leading the nation with 385 yards after the catch and he's yet to drop a pass this season. It's not all short stuff as he's caught all nine of his targets at the intermediate (10-19 yard) level while also catching two deep passes for 94 yards and two scores. Switzer will work out of the slot for the Dream Team to complement the other two pass catchers on the outside.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK
I bet one of our members is REALLY going to like reading this.
Mark in Winchester?
No, it's probably Kevin.
I did enjoy it
I thought we caught him in the net?? How did he escape again? Egbert's gonna be bummed out
I'm going to electrify that damn net this time around. You just wait.
that's gonna leave a mark...
No.
Jake from State Farm?
she sounds hideous.
Well, she's Jim Harbaugh, so...
Jake from State Farm
Edit: didn't see Koastal's comment earlier
Mooky is out best cover defender
Mooky sounds like a stripper name. There, I said it.
Sounds like an AL MVP to me
Probably 2nd to Trout. Mookie had a chance to take it down the stretch and didn't have any defining moments. Papi will cypher off some votes too.
I'll gladly take ALDS MVP for Mookie.
And ALCS MVP.
And WS MVP....
Must resist the urge to downvote a Red Sox fan...
Your stripper name is the combination of the underwear you have on and the last thing you ate. In my case Maroon pie.
Tartan Caesar salad? I would not make it as a stripper.
Drop 'salad' from the name and you have a chance.
Black Sashimi. Hmm.
I win:
Ralph "Pollo" Fundido.
Black Fruit of Loin
No Jambalaya
Gildan Applesauce....... Gildan Applesauce.
Commando Honeybun
(not really, but I did have a honeybun, and I thought it sounded funny)
No Tacos, hmm, appropriate since I am a dude...
I would think that a stripper named No Tacos would work at an establishment that had "no tacos" in the audience. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Buck Naked Sausage Biscuit....
Yep, sounds about right
My stripper name is:
Commando Banana
Boxer Chorizo
Why do so many of you above not wear underwear....?
hanes bagel
Actually, Buck Naked is the underwear from Duluth Trading Company. Expensive, but worth it
Worth it? So what does it do specially? Mine does pretty good at it's job. Does your's zip and unzip your pants for you or something?
Victoria's Secret Donut Hole
Sounds wrong when you say it like that...
Commando Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Almost perfect alliteration
Commando Entire Jar Of Nutella
I am not a proud man.
Champion sausage muffin?
Banana Republic Chocolate.
That's damn near an epithet.
Lucky Salmon
Gap Raisin Bagel
Black Sandwich.
Ladies, if you have the bread, I have the meat!
(I felt awkward just typing that)
Ladies, if you have the
breadbuns, I have the meat!FTFY
Being a stripper, I went with "bread" meaning money.
Of course, the ladies would just reply, "No thanks, I'm on a diet that avoids empty calories."
This is fun, but mine is Fruit of the Loom Double Cooked Pork.
That doesn't quite have the ring to it as my preferred method of your first pet's name/street you grew up on: Doc London
Gingham Protein Bar
Hanes Empanada
Tommy Sausage
Jockey Walnuts? Should have stopped snacking after the coconut delight cookies.
American eagle wings I'll take it haha
That's some much deserved high praise for Mook and he's just a sophomore....The potential for him is off the charts.
Mook has definitely been a pleasant surprise this year. He contributed a bit last year but he's taken off and become one of the top, if not the top, defenders on our team. I've got to be a realistic fan, though. I'd give the edge in the match up to Switzer because he's been doing it for so long. He's got experience on his side. He's very, very talented.
I already knew this. I hope he's tasked with man coverage on Switzer all game long. Mook is about to break out.
I read that as "Ryan Reynolds" and got excited about having Deadpool at DB.
He might even have more personal fouls than Teller.
With his speed, agility and strength he would definitely be the best DB in the game. He would straight up murder the opposing WR's!
This weekend is a showcase for Mook. Hope he shuts switzer down, which to me would be anything less than about 80 yards.
You're in luck! He's never had 80 yards on us before. He's actually never had a good game against us in three tries. Doesn't mean he won't this time, but seems we've handled him well in the past.
ya but don't think he's ever averaged like 120+ yards a game either. He's taken his game to the next level. UNC seems to be passing a lot more than normal this year.
Just as a reference point:
2016 47 receptions 587 yards (5 games)
2015 55 receptions 697 yards (14 games)
2014 61 receptions 762 yards (13 games)
2013 32 receptions 341 yards (13 games)
They are focusing in on him much more. I expect more catches against us than usual with no doubts, but between the individual play of Mook/Clark and our scheme we need to just limit the back breakers. Keep the short catches to short gains, don't let missed tackles turn into back breakers. We've been better in the open field this year, but this is certainly our biggest test.
DBU
Nope, no he's not... nah, he's not that good. Don't listen to the experts, they don't know what they're saying....
(this will work and keep him on the team for the next couple years, right?)
I get it
Wish I could find the highlight of his pick vs Tenn.
