In 2015, Tech and Ohio State in Lane Stadium will be Monday Night Football, per Jim Weaver.โ Tech Talk LIVE! (@VT_TTL) August 26, 2013
My guess is this will be a Labor Day game, as part of the ACC's Labor Day commitment to ESPN.

This. So much.
"oh we need to think about the fans, thursday is so inconvenient for them..."
Enter Monday Night.
+1 from juxta alumni
HAHAHAHA!! Clueless! I'll gut out another longest 4 day week ever for this game as long as we get our Thursday night games back.
Labor day would be the only thing that makes sense, this makes me think ESPN thinks we may bounce back to the Hokies of old within the next couple seasons and see's a big ratings draw with this game just like Boise in 2010.
It only makes sense if Weaver backs it up with a noon game the following Saturday!
If thats the case make it ODU instead of JMU lol atleast ODU is in the FBS.
ESPN has FSU vs Pitt on Labor Day this year...
That sounds awesome to me. As mentioned, Labor Day game is the only thing that makes sense. Exciting way to get the season going to be sure. An entire holiday weekend to get campus amped up to bring the house down? Count me in
Cool, so when I start applying for jobs next year I'll tell them I need off Labor Day and the day after Labor Day in 2015.
you should already get labor day off...I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't.
Not us hospitality majors
Some of you may like this, but i hate playing on monday.. Its long enough to have to wait the whole offseason for a game, but then watching everyone play on saturday except you sucks..
However, you get to watch all the Saturday games without interruption.
eh, id rather have the primetime saturday game, which we will anyway because this will be a rematch of the 2013 NC game.
Agreed. The quick follow-up Saturday is a problem too if there's any hangover at all from the Monday game, as we discovered in 2010.
Labor Day 2015, is confirmed by Weaver.

When you can play a game in prime time against one of the teams espn is in love with you take it. Now having said that..win the game ;-)

I'll (hopefully) have graduated by then, but I hope VT can give students off that Labor Day. Going to my 5:30 Statics class last year on the day of the GT game sucked. Is there a reason we never get off classes for Labor Day? Pretty much all my friends at other universities do.
Either way I'm pumped and I'll find my way to Lane for this in 2015.
We get Fall Break instead, which honestly I prefer because it's in the middle of the semester instead of after the first week of classes.
Most schools get Labor Day and a fall break over Columbus Day. We get the whole week around Thanksgiving.
Anyone else thinks we just lost the serious opportunity to have College Gameday?
What happens to the Furman game on Sept 5, 2015? Please tell me it's cancelled forever.
I am surprised tOSU agreed to that...I thought they would have enough Clout/Sense to say, 'Hell No!'
Just wait until Weaver sells the game to Dan Snyder so it will be played in FedEx. Then there will be rage.
We need the earliest Notre Dame/Tech game to be in FedEx. I can picture it now... 92,000 packed in there. It'd be more electric than the Boise game.
I tried to put in words how much I hate this idea, but I just couldn't think about it without a headache.

Agreed. FedEx games are bad news on every level.
I'd rather VT have an actual homefield advantage than play another game in that soulless hellhole.
agreed. I am a redskins fan and enjoy going to their games, but I want VT to get some of these bigger games to be Home and home series. That way we can at least have a real home field advantage.
I absolutely cannot wait for this to happen. One of my best friends who I met in Iraq is a big osu fan and we always go back and forth every time we talk now we settle it! And he claims the shoe is louder than the Lane I call shenanigans.
The shoe, even with their 30k plus seating advantage, IS NOT louder than Lane. No way.
Listening to the Radio in Columbus and they were excited about this game on Monday night...Just wait until they realize what #goACC is
