I know we have members up and down the coast from Outer Banks to South Florida. Wanted to start a thread so we can share what is happening or did happen in your hometown, make sure everyone knows you made it ok and share any pictures or video. I already saw some posts from people who evacuated also.

We're thinking of all of you down there right now. Keep us up to date on your status, Fireman. We are concerned.
Honestly haven't seen anything yet. We had a shower this morning about 2/3 am (baby feeding time) unrelated to the storm but man is the ground super saturated, the rain from this morning is still puddles around the area. We have everything we can get our hands on to be ready and just have to see what happens. People on the islands and in beach front homes in SC are in for a rough ocean it looks like. I'll try and keep y'all posted and if I can figure out how to post pictures from my phone to here I will.
I'm in MD, so not affected by the storm, but much of my wife's family is in FL. Her parents are in Jacksonville (inland from the evacuation zones, so they are riding out the storm). They are on the Trout River, and her mom sent me these pictures. This is their dock as the tide came in (their backyard is usually about 3' higher than the water level, but the tide is coming in over that and into the backyard):
My parents and my grandmother live in Savannah and evacuated yesterday. My grandmother's nursing home took everyone to Macon, hopefully the 3 hour ride won't take too much of a toll on her. Parents live on Skidaway Island. Hopefully they won't get it too bad property damage wise, but we will see. They lucked out some with Hermine, a tornado touched down about 1/2 mile from their house. Looks like the power is still on Skidway Island as the bird cams are still up and running, so I guess that is a good sign for now. Hard to tell what the winds are like from them but one of the cams was moving pretty good earlier.
TWC is calling for only a 30% chance of rain on game day in Richmond now. If that is the case Chappel Hill being further west it should not be too bad.
The hurricane actually looks like a creepy skull in that picture.
Halloween Hurricane.
My name is Matthew. If you knew me, then you'd know why storms are named after people...
... And not horses...
Riding it the last bit in Jacksonville right now. Got 60 mph gusts or so and lie 8 inches of rain. Power's been out since 130; JEA says it might not be on till Sunday, which means i might have to watch the game on my phone. Good thing I have a few extra batteries...
I didn't realize there were his many Hokies in Jville. Makes me feel better about maybe moving there.
I'm here with the navy. Gone as soon as I can be.
Does that make you feel better too? /s
Hope all of you down on the southern half of the east coast make out OK - not gonna get any impact here in New Jersey this time (got our ass kicked by Sandy couple years ago). Be safe all, and when in doubt, err on the side of caution.......
My Mom in Palm Coast is fine. Tons of wind and rain. No damage thus far. No power since 11:30 this morning. Otherwise fine. Her neighbors are Hokies and have had a similar experience.
Hopefully everyone up the coast stays safe.
Sorry I didn't see this sooner
Won't repeat the post in the other thread but no damage and we're fine
How big is the local Hokie group down there? We have 3-4 post on here at least.
One of my oldest Hokie friends is on St. George's Island on the Gulf on vacation. Said they had great beach weather and couldn't see any affects from the storm. What a difference a few miles can make.
All clear inland of St Augustine (just other side of 95). We lost power for about 30 min yesterday evening and neighbors had a tree come down (clear of any structure). All things considered, we came out quite lucky. Thoughts/prayers go out to those who were not so fortunate.
Overnight here in Murrells Inlet SC (just south of Myrtle Beach) was a lot of wind and rain. Checked everything every time I had to get up to feed the newborn, now this morning it's been almost like a springtime storm for last 35 minutes, medium rain mild wind. We shall see what the rest of the day brings to us.
My uncle lives in downtown South Beach. We kept wondering when/if he was going to leave but it turned out that Miami didn't get anywhere close to what was expected.
Outer Banks is humid & tropical feeling, but no rain or real wind yet. We even saw the sun a few minutes ago. Looks like the southern part of the NC coast all of the way up through Chapel Hill is already getting inundated. It's on its way...
Not too much damage in Pooler, Ga (just west of Savannah). I'm just hoping it is clear enough this afternoon for the local station to stop the continuous coverage and show the game...
My parents and friends back home in Jupiter road out the storm and actually were a little underwhelmed, not very much damage besides a broken screen from a friends house. I'm in Gainesville so I didn't really get much besides some rain, I am a little pissed that the UF Lsu game got cancelled today because as I look out my dorm window all I see is blue skies...
It's less of a matter of weather for the game as it is having a bunch of police, EMS, first responders, etc. tied up watching a football game when people are in serious trouble elsewhere in the state.
They probably could have held it Sunday. Called in help from surrounding western FL.
Sure, rescheduling should have been possible and that part strikes me as a bit ridiculous, but not having the game today makes sense given the damage I have seen so far in FL.
If it turns out to be important to the SEC title race, they'll both pay off their cupcakes on Nov. 19 and play then
While I certainly agree with your take, it is bound to be tough for die hard football fans to have their game just up and disappear on them at the last minute. Kinda like taking three viagra for the big date and having her cancel on you a half hour before the big moment. Then you have to explain to everyone the next day why your arm's in a sling.
I live in SC and had to evacuate so considering my girlfriend and I had tickets to UNC we came up to Durham a few days early. So far I've heard that my mom's house has some roof damage and still waiting to hear on my girlfriends house. Big thing is that everyone evacuated like we were told. Bout to head to Chapel Hill and hope the Hokies and give me a break from reality for a bit.
Latest IR imagery.
That doesn't look like "off the coast" to me. It looks quite on...
Agreed. Just about right over Wilmington. Hoping that cold front can give it a nudge eastward.
It will shortly itll make it up about half the NC coast then it's off to sea
I'm in Wilmington, still nothing huge - holding on.

We have POWER! Now anyone know a way I can watch the game from yesterday?
Per previous games this season Hokietapes should have it up by tonight/tomorrow
I feel horrible for those of you in VA beach and Chesapeake, I totally undersold it there flooding was rampant and I am so sorry
