This week isn't great, but it's the meat of the conference schedule, so they are important and the favored teams won't come out all unscathed.
Madison is an interesting campus, the school is just blocks from the state capital. Over half a million people live in Madison proper, 43k being undergrads, it's not a town!. Speaking from experience, tailgating there is intense, jam packed full of drunjs ... a fantastic day, highly recommended.

Beer: I've been holding onto a couple bottles of Three Floyd's Wig Splitter, a well regarded Oatmeal Stout from a fantastic brewery. Now that we're in full HYPE mode, I think it's time to crack one open.
our hotel (both nights) when going for the ND game is 1 mile from FFF and 5 miles from the 18th street brewpub. Strategery.

I haven't had any of their stouts yet, but their hoppy beers are out of this world. Zombie Dust is of course great. But, they have several others that are fantastic. Cimmerian Sabertooth Berzerker is a fantastic Imperial IPA with dank and tropical hop notes. It has an overwhelming tropical nose to it that's fantastic - mango, passionfruit, a little pineapple. It's awesome. I also love Space Station Middle Finger, not just because the name is hilarious, but because the beer itself is great. It's a really well balanced Pale Ale that is more malty that Zombie Dust with darker Crystal malts in it. And the hops aren't tropical. They are more floral and earthy. Executed to perfection.
Oh and they make a Flanders Red called Big Tiddy Assassin. It's pretty solid with substantial lactic and acetic acid notes.

i got a couple of cans of each, amazingly still some for sale. MMSS is my fave <6% ipa the veil makes.
Just had my first mmss last night and I'd have to agree, I might say it's my favorite ipa they make. Definitely like it more than the Eternal Shredder variants (though those are excellent as well, so I guess we're just splitting hairs)

Yeah, it was amazing, and my favorite of theirs. I try to get there for every Tuesday release to grab some cans unless the hype for it seems to be going crazy. I'm not trying to wait in line for an hour+ to pay for beer. Luckily the cans haven't been selling out as quickly as they were when they first opened up, and they've really worked out a good system to get you through quickly.
I just go on wednesday with the thought that if it was crazy enough to sell out in one day I wouldn't want to deal with it anyways. It does seem like they handle it much better now though, haven't had a problem in months.
God I can't wait for them to expand their distribution a bit. One bar had the Broz Broz Day Day on tap out here at the beach last week, and I'm basically addicted, but without a way to get more that doesn't involve a 2 and a half hour drive.
