VT Football is my jam forever.

I felt many feelings this past saturday. The hype train got too damn hype and as a result, there was a lot of lashing out over the last several days. In general, that's unacceptable. I started this thread for people to show the respect for those who will come and those who've passed for giving us some of the greatest experiences of our lives. The players and coaches deserve our respect and appreciation regardless of the time the played or the wins/losses they notched. Seeing the Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange on Saturdays, whether in person or live, makes me feel like I'm at home. Blacksburg is special. The program is special. I didn't hate on the team after the loss. We should never be that fanbase. Live. Breath. Die-hard. oh, and FUCK Miami.

Thank you for this! Everyone on here be like "SHIT we suck!" Saturday was hard to watch, I'll admit, but that doesn't mean I'm ashamed of the team.

Get behind the team y'all.

for me, the overall feeling here, again - to me, wasn't that we sucked, but we pulled a classic VT and played like shit against a team we clearly outclass. (obviously, that didn't show on sat)

I felt like people were more so venting about the shitty play, and bad defensive scheming.

I have seen more than one comment questioning if we will win a other game this season. That's not venting, it's a full blown death spiral.

I mean, we still have that high school team from Charlottesville on our schedule so....

I heartily agree. I didn't think TKP blasted our team or coaches. Too many times we have been on the other side with a great, maybe unexpected win. Ohio State, for instance. Nebraska, a ranked Miami, FSU. We were outclassed Saturday as we outclassed highly favored teams we upset. We will get there, keep the faith.

Well, it even took Clemson a few years to stop "Clemsoning" after their coaching change. It won't be long before we will no longer be the "Chokies"

As a class of 2000 alum, perhaps I got spoiled with an undefeated season. I just know this program can do that jonkst again.

As someone who attended VT for one year in 2001, you have no idea how spoiled you might be. :)

From Ryan's excellent article post-Syracuse:

We've got a very talented Miami team coming into town for what should be a great atmosphere on a Thursday night. I've heard quite a bit about Thursday nights in Blacksburg, Va. Looking forward to taking part in it.

(emphasis added)

I expect Lane to be MOTHER. FRICKIN. JACKED. Come Thursday. Let's show Fuente and Miami what a Thursday night in Lane is like. Make those Cane players wet their pants and set off a miniature earthquake (think anOSU 2015). Let's show this team we're behind them 110% and be the 12th man out there with our boys! Thanks for the post. That was a disappointing loss but like you said,
the important thing is the love for the team and the school.
Let's hope for an exciting game Thursday! Doesn't get much better
than playing the U under the lights.

Wait is the U back???

Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies

Sucks to be U!!

I haven't seen anybody say they hate the team.

I've seen a lot more comments to the effect that they feel like the team wasn't prepared for Syracuse. I think a good bit of it was hype overload followed by a "let down" game.

After the last few years, I don't think last Saturday lost us any fans.

The team is doing so much better than we expected for the first year under a new HC and OC that our expectations got higher than the guys deciding rankings.

They are still doing great, our expectations are just whipsawing all over the place.
Sometimes, that hurts.

The Hokies are still my team and I'm still proud of the accomplishments so far this season. They are doing very well, especially considering the coaching changes.

Go Hokies.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Yeah, me too.
