figured I'd throw this up tonight. Happy Halloween as well! Lots of great match ups this weekend.
Friday night has Navy at USF in the AAC.
Saturday games include:
Washington at Utah
Michigan at Michigan State
Nebraska at Wisconsin
and Clemson at FSU.
Here's to enjoying another entire weekend!

uva gonna get shit on
Then Pitt will have something to eat.
God@mmit Navy. USF running all over them
Welp at least they're gonna avoid the shutout. But 28 to 7 yikes.
If you want VT ranked higher, this helps. I'd prefer to see navy win, though.
I want to stay #25 the rest of the season!
At the very least, ranked anything other than #17.
navy is getting worked. jeeze
Just checked the final score on the Navy game...looks like they made a major comeback in the fourth quarter but still fell short
they never quit, usf gave up 24 in the 4th. wish navy would've won.
Since there is no VT game today, my excitement is seeing loluva getting taken to the woodshed by Louisville :)
Just logged into add this comment. Nothing like sitting here knowing my Hokies won a hard fought road game and then get to watch a team beat LOLUVA by 50.
Biggest challenge of the day: choosing between ND and da U.
I think Miami's going win against ND.
Egg currently being laid by Louisville at Scott
Louisville looks tired and slow today
Watching Gameday, have they mentioned Tech/Pitt game once? It wasn't mentioned on Friday College football show either.
I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe they'll say something when they countdown the picks. Hope they call out Narduzzi
Not a word.
they talked about the games on today, not absurd that they would talk about ones that are already done. did see anything about navy either
Lamar is gonna literally double his stats today.
Let's see:
Career: 3265 pass, 1648 rush, 51 TD.
@UVA: 6530 pass, 3296 rush, 102 TD.
I can see it happening.
If he plays the full game, he'll break Mahomes' single game record (819 yds), set last week.
Anyone else see that raucous crowd for the entrance at Lane North?
Sparty just came out swinging against Michigan.
Hmmm, Lville doesn't look like they came to play.
If they upset Louisville more power to them. The dream of an 0-12 UVA season is dead, and it helps our NY6 chances.
They were centimeters away from two different 90+ tds on their first drive. The punt was hopefully an anomaly
what the hell Lamar Jackson, you've had all day
Important game towards Kentucky's bowl eligibility today. Always cheering for Kentucky in basketball season, but I gotta cheer for them in football season, too!
Why? Cheering for Kentucky basketball is basically against anything college athletics stands for with the whole one and done mentality of constantly just trying to be a minor league NBA squad. Either go to 2 years in college or go back to high school guys getting drafted
My whole family lives in Kentucky. My dad was raised there. I've been a fan my whole life. I don't think there has to be a why. It is unfortunate that most of the guys don't stay longer than a year, though.
It's not unfortunate, it's a strategy that Calipari has stated, he more or less "doesn't care" about college results his ultimate goal is to put guys in the NBA. I can see why you would be a fan based on geography and family, other than that it would be very difficult to hope that type of strategy is successful if you like college athletics.
Don't worry lolUVA come the end of the fourth quarter, you'll still be feeling the same old emotions

Louisville looks like I don't know what. Missing some easy catches and keeping UVA in the game. I'm expecting them to pull away though.
BTW frank Caliendo was hilarious as the celebrity picker on Gameday. His Madden and Lou Holtz impression had me dying.
His Corso was pretty great too. The actual Corso was just "....shoot...that's exactly how I sound..."
And another dropped pass.
Georgia Tech thrashing Duke
Houston losing at home to UCF 21-3 in the late 2nd quarter. The Herman love affair may be slowly dying down.
Hey guys, I'm going to state my unpopular opinion: UVA is rapidly improving. Yes Louisville isn't playing their best, but UVA is much better than the team that lost by 3 possessions to Richmond at the beginning of the season. They are going to be absolutely amped to play us November 26th and we better show up.
They are improving but the good news is, we are too!
You are correct. It's imperative that we aren't looking forward to the ACC Championship if we are in that position though.
Lose to Richmond to start the year. Not getting blown out in an actual FBS game is "rapid improvement".
How about now?
Why the hell did Bronco call that timeout with 3 seconds left? It set up UL for a chance. No coach in America willingly opts to punt there.
Has Duke reverted to pre-Cut revival days or is GT back to being as good as they were in the 1st 3 yrs under PJ (i.e., when they still had some talent on both sides of the ball)?
I think Duke has fallen off this year
That heart breaking loss at Clemson seems to have killed NCSU's will to live.
UVA always beat some team that we don't think they will and get the hoos hopes up. They haven't done that this year yet so perhaps today is that day.
However the only reason Louisville is losing in my opinion is because of drops mainly. I mean guys are open they are just dropping the passes. Let's see how they adjust.
see:
-Central Michigan
-Duke
I don't think the Louisville players think they would really have to try this game. That last pass of the Louisville player would have cut back inside and worked a bit he probably would have gotten the first. But he took the easy path and went out 1 yd short of the first down.
WTF is louisville doing?
this is a perfect example of a game between two teams I absolutely hate (rooting for the asteroid type of game) but I think I would prefer LOLUVA to lose just because I want their record to be 2-10
This may be the first game I've watched where Smoked Mizzell has come close to living up to his billing.
He's running right throw the flappy arms of Louisville, who look like they've never made a tackle before.
Louisville doesn't even look like they care
For real. Lots of jogging during live balls. They have Houston Syndrome.
UVa....wat
U.Va actually looks good today, never thought I would say that. I want our rivalry with them to be a true rivalry and make the state of VA look good at football. I hope they pull off the upset against Louisville but continue losing to Va Tech!
I prefer to see them lose and to hear the lamentation of their women.
Somehow, it's better to hear sobs than laughter in Hooville. Gives me Grinch Syndrome.
Frikkin' Hoos.
Stop that. We want them to lose every game, every time.
UVa holding on that long run by Mizzell.
Sure helps.
Louisville looking like pretenders today. UVa looking like a Superbowl team.
Anyone peep the score of the WVU game yet? Looks like they might be going down too.
Jackson fumbles running into his own man on one play, luckily recovers, than the next play throws a pick where no Louisville player was even in sight.
Just not their day.
Louisville...Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot??
Wow what a great down field strike by Lamar there. Except it was to a guy in blue...
Scott Stadium is Louisville's Heinz Field.
That was a horrible throw by Lamar Jackson. No pressure yet the ball sails 5 yards above the receiver hands into an interception. Does not look like an accurate passer at all
Hoos hooin'. Hoo knew.
Louisville has picked today to just plain suck.
Jackson must have worn the wrong socks today. Everything coming up snake eyes.
People forget that a roughing the kicker call potentially saved Louisville from a disaster against Duke just two weeks ago.
If they lose this game, can't say they didn't have it coming.
Could be lots of movement in the T25 this week. Lville, WVU listing currently, PSU/Purdue is close, Baylor/Texas will be a good game, and then 3 other games with ranked teams on both sides.
also Navy lost.
UVa fighting for every yard.
Louisville looking confused, as if they didn't think they'd have to play today.
EDIT: UVa looked like UVa on this latest drive. Couldn't move the ball and missed the field goal. Kept Louisville hopes alive.
It's a rare day that I root for UVA, but I don't have a problem doing so in this one. I'm an old fart, so I remember those pre-A10/pre-Big East days when we were in the Metro conference for all non-football sports. Louisville ran that conference like it was their own personal playground and VT was always on the short end of the stick. Our Metro days concluded with their attempt to kick us and VCU out of the conference without having to pay us any severance. I have never and will never root for Loserville after that mess.
Eh, you make a compelling argument, but if Louisville loses, I don't get my sad Hoo fix.
It's a bitter pill.
Never wanted UVA to win a game in my life, but if they do there is some major silver lining with NY6 ramifications. We need Louisville to lose and even though I wasn't even considering this week, UVA is a baddddd loss on their record.
For people that say rankings don't matter, this is why they do. Bowl picks based on "next highest ranked ACC team" in most cases.
Even if they play them close I think it doesn't help their argument for getting in, along with the Duke game.
Le Sabre in meltdown mode. Comedy gold.
via GIPHY
Interception run back to the red zone! That was quick.
Louisville now doing Louisville things, while UVa does UVa things.
There it is. Louisville in the lead.
Ahhh! Feels so good.
If UVA loses, then they're only one game away from bowl ineligibility.
Bronco has inherited Timecops timeout ability.
Great minds.
It's like a reverse superpower.
Meanwhile in Stillwater, Eers be all like
via GIPHY
Oh oh.
He is going for 2!
Ho. Lee. Shit.
UVA gets the 2 and goes up 25-24 with less than 2:00 to go. Wow.
This is insane
I hate UVA so much...but I want them to win to get Louisville out NY6 game contention.
Lolz, ill give to Wahoos that was ballsey
It's everything you gotta love about college football. The huge underdog going for the dagger against one of the best. Even if it's UVA, I tip my hat to them on that one.
Mendenhall, the riverboat gambler.
Masterful Rub Route.
You can't make up what football commentators say.
There are no UVA fans in Bristol, but I'm going to go ahead and apologize to those of you who live past Roanoke if UVA wins...
I hate LOLUVA but sending Petrino home with a lose would be good.
Good recovery for Houston
four down territory.
I say run it.
I can't bring myself to think about LOLUVA winning. I don't want to see wine and cheese rushing the field from the hill after they showed up in the 4th qt of the game to say they were there the entire time.
Jackson is Miracle in Morgantown-ing the Hoos.
That 4th down pass was whoa.
Wow.. Louisville TD!
Hey, Look! Sad Hoos!
DOUBLE SAD HOO FAN ALERT!
The graphics keep showing the matchup as LOU v UVA, and I keep seeing that as LOLUVA.
I'm not seeing a distinction.
Ha I know, I've been saying that all game!
THE TEARS!!!! THE UVA TEARS!!!!!!!
They're so delicious!
DOUBLE SAD LOLUVA FANS!!!!!
Wow. YES!!! There it was....fans hanging on the wall in disbelief!!!
Ahh yes, the traditional Wahoo surrender sign.
Was just coming here to give Bronco credit for the ballsy call, but alas, I'm not the first.
I'm actually watching the game at a bar in Charlottesville and no one seems to care. Pretty pathetic.
That attempt at "sad UVA fan" was pathetic.
What's pathetic is that is has become a thing for UVA fans to try to get on tv by doing it. Really?? WE SUCK!! LETS CELEBRATE BY DOING THE THING AND GETTING ON TV!!
They have little else to look forward to.
Calm down, it's just some kids having fun. I saw some VT fans do it at our ECU game last year as well.
If you look somewhat closely, you can see the Hoo fans looking up periodically as if to say "did the camera get us? are we famous yet?"
There's genuine anguish, and then there's attention seeking.
^This exactly is what I was making fun of
And I am simply having a little fun at their expense. I really dont think its that big of a deal
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
He just Josh Dobbs'd the DB.
:(
Why do UVA fans seem to enjoy doing this? You'd think if anything they would want to forget that moment. I guess that's why they're UVA though.
"Is the camera on me?"
LOL
UVA
And it ends with a sack. Way to go out like a bitch, hoos.
What happened? Last I saw UL failed on 4th and 3.
Edit: nevermind. I just saw the replay. It looks like ESPN gametracker just screwed up.
Hahahahahaha I enjoyed that much more than a blowout.
NBC play clock hurting anyone else's eyes?
They've gotta be having technical difficulties or something. That is awful. It kinda looks like its being superimposed because they cant get the regular clock to render correctly
I'm thinking "at least these games have the right number of hash marks" then I flip over to the cocktail party.
(pun not intended, referring to UFvsUGA at an NFL stadium)
If it wasn't over an 8 hour drive, I'd love to try to get up to the Notre Dame game.
Looks like Miami is still sliding...
BC is currently beating NC State and has the ball with a minute and a half left. Wut. Going for first ACC win since 2014....
Edit: BC won, played like dudes today.
Good for Addazio. I like that guy.
Alas, they've been mathematically eliminated from contention thanks to the Louisville win.
Miami getting crushed
They got blitzed hard in the first quarter. Really punched in the mouth. They played a lot better in the 2nd quarter though. Their offensive line play is absolutely embarrassing though.
looks like they've settled down, starting to come back
WVU loses and Baylor down by 9. B12 getting close to elimination from playoff as a conf.
If we don't blow the doors off of this Notre Dame team I will be a little bit disappointed
"a little bit"?
Wow Notre Dame sucks lol. I don't know what that player was thinking on that ST play.
Notre Dame has 9 home games this year? How does the ACC let them get away with 4 home games out of 5 scheduled with ACC teams?
I mean, they get away with just the tip as far as joining the conference in football goes. Why not let them do whatever else they want
it's very simple...
They only have 7 "home" games (as evidenced by the games broadcast on NBC).
VT, Duke, and Miami are the three ACC teams playing in South Bend. Then, they have Nevada, Michigan State, and Stanford. Their last "home" game is the Shamrock Series against Army in San Antonio.
The true road games are against NC State, Texas, and USC.
Finally, they have two neutral "away" games. The game at the Giants/Jets stadium against Syracuse counted as a Syracuse home game (and was broadcast on ESPN.) They play Navy in Jacksonville (on CBS), but they never actually play Navy at Navy. They claim the stadium is too small.
So we want to see them play in the military bowl in Annapolis.
Miami was once ranked 10th.
Army beat WF today, if they win against Air Force next week it can make for a very interesting Army vs. Navy game in December.
Really think Texas should give Strong more time...
Texas 35, Baylor 34 -going down to the wire.
I'm pulling for Chaos
Forward progress on Baylor's QB? Man, that rule needs to be revisited. One-on-one tackle, both still moving, and the ball comes out. Baylor gets rescued on that call.
If he'd completed a pass while in the grasp, they would have allowed it.
Two more undefeateds go down... Rooting for even more mayhem the rest of the way
Today we're all Gamecocks.
I'm rooting for the refs instead.
Muschamp vs Butch....Aneurysm Bowl.
With Baylor and WVU going down, we've moved back into playoff contender range. We'd have to win out, but I truly believe 2 loss or less conference champions won't be jumped by teams that didn't win their conference, and the Big 12 may not have the strength to put a team in that isn't undefeated.
Big12 is kill.
There is a guaranteed minimum of 6 teams ranked ahead of us losing today. Based on current situations, it could be 9 teams.
Next weeks polls are going to look way diffferent it seems
As long as it doesn't bump us to 17.
wow, Clemson's D-line. FSU needed the 12 yard line for a first and they end up punting for a touchback. That's scary good.
Francois is going to be a good QB, but he's not one yet. Certainly not tonight.
Watching the Boise/Wyoming game. Boise looks off.
Having to play against a decent team on the road will do that to you.
Here I am, watching another FSU game, like
Ohhhhhhohhhohhhohhohh, ohhhohhhohhhohhhohhhohhhohhh
Refs are trying to balance the cosmic scales of PI calls in the FSU game tonight
Narduzzi is watching from his couch losing his sh!t.
Honest question: could we beat either Clemson or FSU if we played them next week?
We could beat anybody in any given week.
But cliches aside, I wouldn't put money on us, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we won. I've seen enough from all three teams to know that they have strengths, weaknesses, and inconsistencies.
Can we beat Duke? That's all I care about.
Wyoming just got a safety, ball fumbled out back of the endzone by Boise, with less than 1:25 left. Wyoming lineman doing a safety dance in front of refs was great.
GO POKES!!!! Suck it smurfs!!!
I guess the refs are no friends of his.
This video gives me life.
Wyoming QB (Allen) and tailback (Hill) are legit
And coach, Boles
Carnage.
Why couldn't we have had some of these game last weekend? I was flipping around for any good games, and nothing was jumping out. Didn't help that literally a third of the NCAA was on a bye.
But today, every game is good.
UVA loses a heartbreaker. WVU lost. Tennessee just lost. This day of college football has been just so great
Don't forget Boise State losing to Wyoming. I'm getting all sorts of perverse pleasure from that one.
That too!! Have a leg for the assist and the increased bliss
Can we please play UT again...in a outdoor football stadium
Watching Nnadi and Sweat make all these plays gives me the sads
I'm past the getting sads about this crap. Screw both of them, they aren't Hokies. Why do we have to pull for/have a soft spot for recruits who shun us?
I wouldn't say "pull for/have a soft spot for". I would say "sigh and imagine what could have been"?
So we could have had an underachieving/overrated defense too?
This. FSUs defense stinks this year
Sour grapes much, guys? Nnadi and Sweat are bonafide dudes. I thought the same watching Andrew Brown for lolUVa today.
Let me be clear: I'm really happy with our DL. But they were in-state guys a lot of us feel we should have landed. You're saying you wouldn't want them?
FSU is young and somewhat injured in the secondary. The DL hasn't really been the problem.
God, the problem for FSU is their OLine's pass pro. Francois gets kiiiilled. Every week.
Edited
Was at the game. The nicest thing was that ut only got to sing Rocky Top 3 times, but each time the USCe band drowned it out.
Lots of sad vols.....
Loving it. All the Vols kept saying this was the easy part of their schedule. Not so fast!
Butch may stroke out. UK and Vandy will give them fits.
I think UKy game may be interesting for them.
Dobbs did not play well. USCe got pressure on him early, and he started short-hopping throws, threw 2 picks...
Dalvin cook is not human. Clemson in trouble
O hey look ACC refs do know how to throw a flag on a coach.
Jimbo pulled a Narduzzi right there (except Jimbo had much more of a point)
what Jimbo did was tame in comparison too. But probably the right call.
Also know what pass interference is. I believe they've called 5 on Clemson .(may be 4 + holding the intended receiver)
I'd call Jordan Leggett "a Bucky Hodges type".
The football gods have blessed us with great football today. Oh yeah, on Thursday too.
*looking to see if FSU's O-line coach has a name that rhymes with Bert Twosome*
Did you guys hear that comment a couple of minutes ago about Clemson playing us in the ACC championship? I appreciate the love, Kirk, but we gotta beat Duke first...
That bogus block below the waist on Dalvins run lost them the game.
Son of a bitch.
edit: if you aren't aware, I do not like Clemson.
Jimbo losing his mind over a "borderline" call caused them to lose.
uh, even if you want to argue you hit the defender's leg from the side, the blocker still tripped the defender after he (the blocker) had gone to the ground, which is a no-no. illegal block is illegal
Anyone see Bronco's post game? He said something so stupid I can't tell if I misheard it or it broke my brain, but it sounded like he said he doesn't prepare for the teams he plays against.
Edit: Found it
http://augustafreepress.com/press-conference-uva-football-coach-bronco-m...
On what can be taken from this game and how it can help the team move forward for the rest of the season: "Again, we don't focus much on the opponent, most people do. So if that is the No. 5 team in the country and that is the possible Heisman trophy winner, then I'd say we are making progress in almost every area of our team."
I hope that is true haha
I mean, they play like it.
I believe him.
I mean, that's the way it comes off.
They were talking about that in the Richmond game.
That dude is a fucking space cadet.
That is an insult to space cadets everywhere.
There were so many good, close games yesterday:
FSU/Clemson
Nebraska/Wisconsin
Washington/Utah
Louisville/LOLUVA
NWern/OSU
Texas/Baylor
Wyoming/BoiseSt
USCe/Tenn
All of which came down to the wire, or in the case of Wisconsin/Nebraska, OT. And those were only the games that included a top-25 team. Notre Dame and Miami were not ranked and may have put up the best game of the day.
I think the top 4 are pretty clear at this point: Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, and Washington. It's probably pretty certain that the playoff committee agrees.
The Baylor and WVU appear to be out of playoff contention because of Oklahoma State and Texas (thanks, guys).
The only Group of 5 team that is left undefeated is Western Michigan. Weird.
JMU beat Rhode Island 84-7 yesterday, RI's only points came off a 99 yard kick return, and their QB had nearly as many picks (5, two for six) as he did yards (12, on 4 for 25).
Holly Rowe, why did you cut your hair?
At this point, I can't tell you who numbers 5-10 in the country are. My gut tells me Louisville and aTm are the best teams in the country with any losses, but then you come up against the Big Ten triumvirate of OSU/Nebraska/Wisconsin, none of which look particularly good, but have records that keep them near the top of the pile. Thanks for being early-season messes, Oklahoma, Oregon, and LSU, respectively. You busted our measuring sticks. I have no idea who is good and who isn't.
Speaking of Oklahoma, I have a feeling Florida, Oklahoma, and Auburn are suddenly going to be in or around the top ten as well, and then there's FSU, who has three losses now, but clearly has the talent to take a playoff contender down to the wire.
FSU/UF is going to be a good game this year.
As far as the teams ranked above us, these ones lost:
Nebraska
Baylor
WVU
FSU
BoiseSt
Utah
Tennessee
Navy
We will jump Navy (USF) and Tennessee (USCe), maybe even BoiseSt (Wyoming), but I don't think Utah will drop too much (Washington), and the others were probably ranked too highly for us to make a move on, except maybe WVU (OkSt). Thanks Syracuse (4-4). For nothing. You might not make a bowl game with Clemson, FSU, NCSt, and Pitt remaining.
Speaking of NCSt, let's give a shout out to BC for winning their first ACC game since 2014. Nice job, guys. I smell a rally brewing. Louisville and FSU are up next. Well that was a short-lived rally. At least you get to close the season with UConn and Wake. Godspeed, gentlemen.
What's up, Big Ten. PSU, Minnesota, Iowa, and NWern are still in contention for their divisions, oddly. Michigan and Nebraska have the inside tracks, but they both still play OSU. Wisconsin/Minnesota on rivalry weekend may decide the West.
Next weekend could decide a lot but I don't know who is playing and I can't watch much football due to a wedding. Let's hope we play Duke at noon.
I think Clemson should be ahead of Michigan, more quality wins.
Agreed. If they're both in the 2/3 game, I think that would suffice.
Debatable, and Clemson needed extreme luck to beat NC State at home, who lost to BC this week. Michigan hasn't looked bad against any team. But 2-3 is essentially no different so is not like it matters.
Exactly.
Michigan has pretty much scored at will in all but 2 games. Clemson was sleepwalking through the first two weeks, and have had three close games in the last four.
Does this mean Deshaun Watson will confess a love for crab legs and lose to Oregon in the playoff?
I think there's a decent chance that Syracuse can pull it off for those last two games. NCSU is not great and Syracuse's WRs vs Pitt's cbs/refs is a matchup that favors Syracuse.
Oooh good point.
Holly is battling cancer. She's coming off intensive chemo
Maybe we should send her a card/email from the TKP community
Had no idea she was ill. Yeah, how could we do that? Can we grab a giant card and take it to all the TKP tailgates, get everyone to sign it, and send it to her at the end of the season? If we get to the ACCCG there's a pretty good chance she'd be the sideline reporter.
http://www.sportingnews.com/other-sports/news/holly-rowe-cancer-hair-bal...
I think the ACCCG will probably land on Saturday Night Football with Fowler, Herbie, and Sam Ponder.
The Pac-12 championship game is on Fox this year, and the only other games ESPN has are Big 12.
In the newly released poll, Western Michigan is ranked the dubious #17. They play Ball St. this week. Will the streak continue?
Let's just jump over all of the top 25 losers this weekend!
I dunno, there were 8 of them....
The curse of the #17 isn't just us.
Doh! I'm drinking...
Off question:
I was at the OSU vs Northwestern game Saturday.
For anyone who has been there, across the top of the stadium they have all of the BIG 10 member flags. On the other side, they had Bowling Green, Tulsa, and Oklahoma (3 non-conf teams they've played).
At the end of the horseshoe, they have the current match up, so OSU and NorthW.
As I'm looking around the stadium at the flags, I noticed the only other flag (somehow the section I'm sitting in) is the Virginia Tech flag...
Does anyone know why this is there? Assuming a reminder for their 2014 season, but wasn't sure. Just a crazy coincidence I happened to be in that section.
From our friends at Eleven Warriors...
Much appreciated!
EDIT: Nvm was a repost
