These dual meets were Saturday before and during the football game. Hokies were dominant with the only losses coming to Edinboro. A freshman and a junior that wrestled 4 matches last year lost their first matches but won against VMI. Hokies forfeited the heavyweight match both times since Walz was at the NWCA All Stars.
I edited the title because anything to do with VT is inherently not off topic. Thanks for the post. Glad to see our wrestlers back in action and ranked so highly. Go Hokies!
Let's make it to the top in aCC and NCAA
Coach Dresser is arguably the best coach on campus. What he's been able to do at Grundy, Christiansburg and at Tech is just ridiculous. Keeping him around has been one of Whit's biggest accomplishments.
Agreed that he is the best. I remember when they could not beat VCU (which has no wrestling).
Clear on the off topic stuff now.
Saw a kid from Benedictine agreed to wrestle at Tech.
Please keep the wrestling updates coming, they are the team to keep an eye on right now. Bring home the Natty!
Just wanted to point out a wrestling move called the "Dresser Dump" was popularized by Kevin Dresser in the '80's.
Here's a link to a video of Dresser teaching his signature move. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-31d3M9mQY
My buddy and I like to use the Dresser Dump in an unconventional way. Like when he calls out Pat Narduzzi on Twitter for being the biggest crybaby; "Narduzzi just got Dresser Dumped!"
VT 36 WVU 4. Yes 36-4!
While speeding down the TKP digital highway yesterday I was issued a speeding ticket and instructed to attend driving school to reduce the point total on my license. My assignment was to offer up an uber-informative post covering one of our sports team.
I am truely excited for these guys. Even more so than last year. Dresser is rocking it.
Great day in Parkersburg for the Hokie Wrestlers when they dominated the 'eers by winning 9 of the 10 matches. These included 2 tech falls, 2 major decisions and 1 pin. The one pin of the day was recorded by Dance @ 125.
Keep your eye on Solomon Chishko @ 149. The r-soph I beleive might just be another special one. I have not seen him wrestle this year; but watching him last year I saw that he wrestled smart and on the quick. He hails from Cannon Mc Millen HS in Pittsburgh; that area is on big wrestling hotbed. He can only get better.
The match has been dubbed "The Black Diamond Brawl".

Still ranked @ 6 nationally, the wrestling team stands at 5-1 with their only loss being to Missouri by 4 points.
The Hokies take a break until January when they go on the road for duel matches against Princeton and NC.
