The game in South Bend at Norte Dame Stadium is one I know many Hokies myself included are looking forward to. Not only is ND. A historic program but the stadium is an iconic one. I thought we could have a thread with people who are going to say where they are tailgating and sitting. Hopefully the Hokies can come out of South Bend with a win but I think minus the weather it will be a fun experience no matter the score.

Mrs Fireman and I are going not sure yet where we will park. Flying into Chicago at 8am Eastern and driving over. Sitting in section 6 row 38.
Side note, I asked my AirB&B host and they have a parking pass for my one car, so there is not another spot for y'all to park
I learned this last week, sorry it took so long to get back to you
Thanks for even checking, TKP community is the best.
I'll be there.
I'll be there. Staying in Chicago and taking the Irish Express bus to the game.
Are you packing?
landing 7am ... starting at half acre at lunch, then goose island, & finishing at 3 floyd's with spots in between.
sat in the golf course lot, will bounce around tailgates, bumming food. 18th Street brewery post game.
duseks for brunch on Sunday ....
if my plan comes together.
I will live vicariously through you on your many beer stops that are on my bucket list.
thanks, you can follow the debauchery on untappd
Yep - I'm already following you since you have awesome taste in beer and score some incredible brews. i'm (at) cstepp80 in untappd.
thanks, a couple more coming in a 3 hours. haha.
You should pay us a visit in Grand Rapids and check out Bells and Founders
they are definitely places I want to visit, but flying into chi, so it won't happen this trip.
My wife and I are driving in from Ohio and staying closer to the lake near the Indiana Dunes.
As for parking, we're going to wing it and wander our way to the stadium on game day. We've got a scavenger hunt list of places to find on campus; I'm hoping we can find time to make it to the lots and meet some other Hokies.
We nabbed the brother-in-laws seats in section 5, row 21. My wife will be decked out in green, and hopefully sad afterwards.
just remind her beforehand that marriage is all about being happy that the other is happy...then hope she doesn't remind you of that afterwards.
I can't not think this every dang time

I'll be there- with another hokie as well. Hokie Club tickets section 115..Flying into Indy, Staying in Elkhart, probably parking in Golf Course, hopefully hitting local bars/restaurants close to campus for "tailgate/Pregame"..
Your Facebook pics of your bar/food stops were awesome! keep them coming...
I'll be there. We are driving up from northern KY. Excited to see us get a W at ND stadium.
Jordan, join the Cincinnati Hokies Facebook page. Come get together for games and such.
I'll be there in section 10 row 34 with a fellow Hokie. Driving in from Pittsburgh on Friday. We don't have tailgating plans but will figure it out when we get there. Go Hokies!!!
I'll be there with the Mrs.
Staying in Valpo, hopefully celebrating in South Bend.
Looks like snow/freezing rain on Saturday. Oh boy.
Weird seeing someone else on here who knows where Valpo is. Went to Washington Township until seventh grade, and I'll be staying with a friend in a different part of Porter County. This game was a childhood dream of mine. I really need the BC/ECU/UNC Tech team to show up instead of the Cuse/GT/Tenn Tech team. I could live forever off of Irish tears.
I bought my motorcycle in Valpo, bigger place than I thought it would be.
My family saw it grow a lot during the time we lived there, from 96-05 and that trend hasn't stopped since we left. Although, if we had stayed my graduating class still would have only been, I think, 68 people. The area isn't perfect, but it had a large enough percentage of good people that made it a good community to grow up in. Definitely was a culture shock moving to the second largest city in Maryland during Middle School.
Driving from Chicago Saturday morning. Sitting in section 106.
Heading to South Bend with two VT friends I graduated with and really looking forward to it!
Love any recommendations on tailgate spots, or a pregame bar (might be VERY cold and rainy).
My friend found a gameday experience thread on Reddit while researching, it's worth a look even though it may be a year old.

Flying into Chicago on Friday afternoon and driving down to 3 floyds and staying in the area. Driving down to South Bend on Saturday morning. Parking in the white lot and hopefully finding some friendly Hokies that are willing to let myself and my tOSU friend tailgate with them. This is a bucket list item for him and he paid for the plane tickets and the hotels for our trip. Good deal for me.
staying at the Hampton Inn too? I expect a wait to get in FFF. nice tap list, hope to go gets better.
Driving to Columbus Ohio from Blacksburg on Friday, day tripping it from Columbus with friends who live there, and then back to Columbus after the game. Returning to Blacksburg on Sunday hopefully celebrating a historic win.
12 of us are in.....parking in Joyce Lot (but might stay inside more than I wanted)
Driving from Chicago and have J lot parking pass. Hoping to arrive 10am local time. Look for Hokie Steal Your Face flag if the winds aren't too much. Sitting section 15 row 10 (ND season ticket holder). Will have other Hokies in Section 2 and Section 25.
Flying into Chicago Friday afternoon and driving to South Bend Friday evening. Staying on Burdette St, tickets...I don't remember where. Somewhere up high. I'll look at them tonight and update
EDIT: Section 129
Day trip from Detroit with three others. Sitting in section 112 row 15.
Wife and I will be there. Driving up to Chicago Friday and taking the busses with the Chicago Alumni. Will be tailgating in the bus lot. I don't remember what section, but the wife and I will be lower section on the endline near the visitor section split between rows 5 and 6 (I think) both on the end of the row.
Heading to Chicago with wife and friends tomorrow and will be day-tripping to South bend for the game on saturday morning. We're kind of winging the tailgate.
Flying into Chicago on Thursday night. Taking the Chicago VT alumni bus from Chicago to South Bend on Saturday. No real plans for what to do afterwards.
Getting in Friday afternoon, ranging with the college kids Friday night, tailgating tbd. Sitting in section 10 I think?
Driving up from St. Louis the day of the game, going straight to the stadium, then staying with a friend Saturday night. It's going to be a quick trip, but I've managed to see at least one VT game since I graduated in 2009, so I had to keep that streak.
I can tell you one Hokie that won't be there Frank Beamer. He will be too busy, judging a beauty contest.
UPDATE
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2016/11/16/frank-be...
holy unclear antecedents batman! Pretty sure Frank won't be wearing a glamorous evening gown, but who knows?
Flying into Chicago late Sat a.m., hauling ass to South Bend with little time to spare. Couldn't care less about the "iconic ND" campus, gameday, stadium bullshit.
Just want to see VT win and ND lose.
Driving down from Grand Rapids Saturday morning. Will be tailgating in either Joyce or Library lot (still have to buy it). Flying a camo VT flag. Stop by and say hi
@Eshiben... word on the street is that I should bring a jacket. Can you confirm?
Well it's going to be a high of 41 and a 50% chance of rain. Yes, I would bring a jacket.
Or, shave VT into chest hair + brown liquor intravenously.
either one.
Bring heavy clothing and jackets. Precip and wind likely. I was going to post last night but the model was updating and i didnt want to wait till 4 am been working on homework all day. Hoping to post after caps game tonight
No tickets yet but driving from Long Island. Damn residency interview is trying to mess up the game I've been looking forward to for years.
But in the words of Lee Corso "not so fast!"
How many tickets do you need? I've still got a couple. Email me Colvin.brad @ gmail.com
My pops and I have one free for now. I think he may offload it for $40 or maybe less. If you show up with nothing, my twitter is posted on my profile.
Driving up to Plymouth, IN from SWVa on Friday morning. It's about an 8 hour drive without stops. On a budget so not sure what we will get into. About a 30 minute drive to South Bend on Gameday. Will see the sights and sounds of ND.
Seats are in Section 3, Row 45. Parking in White Field. Hope to stay dry this weekend. Cold isn't too bad for me. Should be a memorable weekend.
Mrs. VTmbaHacker and I are flying into Indianapolis Saturday AM, driving over. No idea where to park or tailgate. We drive back to Indy after the game for an airport hotel and a red eye flight home Sunday morning. Total time away from the kids ~ 25.5 hours
Sounds like everybody's tickets are all over the stadium. Mine are Section 117, Row 20. Just looked up where they are. So apparently being a golden hokie gets me tickets behind the end zone through the Ara Parseghian gate.
I'm flying into Chicago with a couple of friends Friday night. Plans are to wake up early and take the train over to South Bend. Since you can bring drinks on the train we just count that as our pregame. We're excited to see the campus and stadium!
Section 131 Row 23. My brother is driving up from Blacksburg, my dad and I are flying out tomorrow. Probably tailgating over at Ironwood Circle.
I grew up an Irish fan as my dad and uncle graduated from ND so this game is huge for the family. Can't wait.
So I've seen a lot of pictures from people in Chicago and South Bend and today looks beautiful.
Try this one. Lovely combination of green, yellow, and red rolling right towards the stadium this evening.
Before 2/3 pm; it was t-shirt weather. Kept seeing dragonflies.

It's been raining ever since, still warm (for now).
Article on how awful the VT Football twitter is (LINK)
Umm wrong thread?
This may be the best thing I've read all week.
We've been in Plymouth since about 5pm. Rain shower moved through about 6ish. Most rain I've seen since the summer as we have drought conditions back home.
Local forecast here is high 39 tomorrow with a wind advisory. 1 inch of snow expected. According to the timeline, snow will start about 5-6am. Wind advisory begins at 9am. Go Hokies! Can't wait!
Just got here. Where to eat and drink? I can see TD Jesus from my rental apt
Anybody else in ATL airport?
Long-time reader, first-time poster. I married an ND alum three weeks ago. She lives and breathes ND. Her dad is a professor there and 7 of her 8 siblings went to school there.
TKP, I will have a tailgate in the Library lot; blue F-150 with a red tent, please stop by, say hi, and give her a hearty GO HOKIES because I am going to be grossly outnumbered at my own tailgate.
Welcome to TKP (as a poster)! Glad to have you.
Can do. I can see TD Jeebus from my Airbnb. Dad and i will be walking around campus in a bit, we'll stop by. I'll ask for grumpy bill
Edit. Thanks for the beer Bill. I expected you needed more support than you had! Your whole tailgate was VT fans
Sitting next to Facyson's brother on flight from ATL to O'Hare. He says secondary is tired.
UPDATE: Talked some more. He says secondary was disappointed they couldn't help more in GT game.
Good inside info. Post when you arrive with your plans
