By virtue of North Carolina State's 28-21 win over North Carolina, and Virginia Tech's 34-3 October win over the Heels, the Hokies clinch the ACC Coastal Division. Tech will face Clemson in the ACC Championship game in Orlando on December 3.

I have my ACC Championship Game, BWW Citrus Bowl, and Russell Athletic Bowl tickets ready to go! Hoping to see Hokies one or two times! I would be OK with heading down the road to Miami as well! GO HOKIES!
A question for my Key Play brethren...Does UNC's loss today dampen the incentive to win more for the Hokies or the Hoos? It is no longer a MUST win for VT and the Hoos can no longer spoil the Hokie trip the the ACC championship game. Does this result in a greater letdown for VT or UVa?
As mentioned by others, it could completely relieve the pressure, and the team can just focus on how wide they can open that can of whup ass on those Jeffersonian disciples.

I mean, this just took all the postseason pressure off them. I actually think the opposite will hold true, and without the weight of getting to Orlando hanging over their heads, they'll come out loose and just annihilate the Hoos from the start.
Look back over the season, and we've struggled a bit the more the pressure has been put on in regards to being ranked high or having the division up for grabs. Tennessee, the venue was too much for a team not really ready to play together... Syracuse, our first time ranked >20 in a very long time... Georgia Tech, win the game, win the division.... And now that's not a problem tomorrow.

I get where you're coming from, but I believe in our seniors to lead the way tomorrow. To me personally, even though we have the Coastal in hand now tomorrow is what matters. I guarantee the seniors after working so hard to re-establish the winning culture at VT this year don't want to be the group that ends the streak to UVa.
They'll show up, just like they did for the Miami game. Let's make sure we do our part and show up too. If we can't beat the crap out of a joke of a team like loluva, in OUR house, on senior day then we aren't the team I thought we were. In 2011, my girlfriend (my wife now) and I were talking about whether we should drive to Charlotte for the ACCCG, and I was like, we will make it to the ACCCG every year, we can go next time, and then there were 5 years coast title drought. It was 3 hours driving from Blacksburg to Charlotte, and now it is from NJ to FL. I swear I won`t say this silly thing again.
Earlier this year, I wondered if I should take off the day of the ACCCG just to watch the game (I work evenings). I thought, "nahh, they've burned me the last four years thinking that."
Nope...always putting in for the first Saturday of December from now on.
(Of course, there was a stretch when I was worried, because any game I didn't watch at home, we lost. But then I was at home for GT and we lost that, so that mojo doesn't work. At least I should be able to drive home around halftime.)

So 10 T25 teams lost and we just wiped the floor with our (albeit bad) in-state conference rival. We were 2nd in the AP for receiving votes, and 1st in the Coaches last week.. wonder where we will be ranked for the ACCCG.
Some of the ranked losses were to other ranked teams though, like Michigan and Auburn.
It'd be cool to have a ranked vs ranked ACCCG.
But plenty of 15-25 ranked teams lost to unranked so Hokies should be 20-25 in polls.
It's been so hard to tell who is actually good this year. Every conference has a small group of better teams near the top and the rest is just a jumble of inconsistency.
I don't even think there is a small group. Bama.....Clemson, OSU.....wash........mich ...............everyone else.
