I was reading earlier today Weaver's comments about the possibility of the sellout streak ending this weekend against Western Carolina. I was somewhat shocked to see this a possibility, but then again the writing was on the wall with freshmen being allowed to buy season tickets now. I didn't think a weak home schedule would hurt ticket sales this much. Part of this is obviously because its Western Carolina, but still sad to see nonetheless. I'm sure the numbers will improve for games like UNC, Pittsburgh, etc.
Thoughts?

I hope Weaver's comments included "it's my fault."
The herds will come to see the new score board.
Whats hurting ticket sales the most is the economy. Thats why I haven't been to a home game in about two years. I was able to see the debacle against Cincinnati at Fedex field last year though.
Much easier and actually cheaper for me to attend a game at FedEx even if the prices are horrendous. When you break down the 5 hour one way drive, two nights in a hotel where the price has been increased (two night minimums), and then tickets to the game itself, it ends up being cheaper getting top seats at FedEx. Plus not as taxing physically (though has been mentally recently).
Weaver will blame the fans for not showing up for Western Carolina. Maybe he should have played them on a Thursday night.
If my math proves correctly, we currently stand at 99 home game sellouts. Too bad we never broke into triple digits.
93 per Andy Bitter

if it looks like it wont be a sell out im sure some booster will buy up the last of them just to make it an official sell out. ive been to plenty of games that were official sell outs but the south endzone looked empty
Before I graduated, a lot of students with south tickets would go with their friends in the north and east stands. Can't really blame them..
Guilty.
If Weaver gave them away I would be there. But I am not going to pay $55 to see them play Western Carolina. I only go to 1-2 games a season anyways so my game choices are somewhat picky. But yeah for a free ticket I would fill a seat. Not that that would happen anyways. :)

We've struggled to sell out for a few years now, but it makes even more sense this year. Last year was our worst season in 20 years, people's budgets have remained tight, it's a good chunk of money going to Atlanta for our season opener against the #1 team, our overall home slate is pathetic, and $55 is expensive for a game against Western Carolina (and tons of tickets will be available for less off stubhub, in the parking lots, or anywhere else).
