Virginia Tech is winning the battle on the line of scrimmage!
— Joe Namath (@RealJoeNamath) August 31, 2013
Virginia Tech's revamped defense was legit. They took advantage of Alabama, played like Foster wanted them to. Very impressive.

Kyle is a F**KING BADASS.... It's official, he's my favorite player on the team now.
The greatest thing about that hit he put on the Tide dude was, if you watch the whole thing, Kyle didn't come from down the field with a head of steam.
He decleated that guy with only about a five step start.
Kyle Fuller is packing some serious heat, y'all.
That was some of the best football I've ever seen a Tech defense play. Even in the 4th quarter when the game was completely over they were playing for pride. I think 20-30 of Bama's yards came when the backups were in at the end. Flat out dominance. On that pick McCarron threw there wasn't much pressure on him but he threw off his back foot anyway. This d-line is legit.
What the hell was Shane doing? I saw him when it happened live and thought he was going mental for a second.
He was caught up in the moment
I'm pretty sure I did the same thing Shane was doing in the stands.
So much win going on here!
I absolutely love the Doctors Hate Him meme. Classic stuff.
"Blacksburg dad finds one simple trick to reduce the yardage gained by Alabama!"
Also, I wish there was a better angle to view the spin move by Trey. Looks great but I'd love to see his eyes as he makes that linebacker dive for the turf.
EDIT: Added the image once I had time to make it
I must have missed something...can someone tell me the story behind the Doctors Hate him?
just google image search 'one weird trick.' it's currently a popular phrase used in spamversitements to get people to click the ad.
gotcha, thanks was over-thinking it.
Awesome gifs. the ending of that brotherly love gif is also a pretty impressive hit for Bama side though
One more gif I found and posted in another thread to add though.. I like to call it, The Postman because Edmunds delivered. Big Time.
I'm so glad you included the dumbstruck bama fan in Edmunds' highlights....I still chuckle when I see that!
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words....great job!
"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." - BOOM - Watch out ACC Here come the Hokies
Love the Maroon Pants - gray jeresys photo. Says it all about Hokies D. 5 hats on the RB and bama line just standing in awe.

So, thinking about Trey Edmunds stat potential......
Some comparison, other VT backs in their first year as starter:
1999 Shy Stith: 11 games, 237 att, 1187 yds, 13 TD
2000 Lee Suggs: 11g, 222 att, 1207 yds, 27 TD (+1Rec)
2003 Kevin Jones: 12 g, 281 att, 1647 yds, 21 TD
2006 Brandon Ore: 12 g, 241 att, 1137 yds, 16 TD
2008 Darren Evans: 12 g (9 GS), 287 att, 1265 yd, 11 TD
2009 Ryan Williams: 13 g, 293 att, 1655 yd, 21 TD (+1 Rec)
2011 David Wilson: 14 g, 290 att, 1709 yd, 9 TD (+1 Rec)
So, is 1300 yards and 15 TD's unrealistic?
Barring injury or an over-reliance on splitting carries, I say he gets it.
Maybe low. Let's consider this:
1. He has a much better offensive line coach and run-game coach than any of those running backs.
2. He got 132 yds against the BEST running defense in 2012, who averaged 76 yds/game. To be fair, he got most of yds on one TD, but still, he will have homerun potential every game.
3. The next best rusing defense VT plays in the regular season is Maryland at 27, who gave up 129 yds/game. (FSU was 3rd, at 91 yds/game).
4. Duke, Marshall, BC and Miami were terrible at rushing D last year (103, 105, 113 and 114, respectively). Duke averaged 199 yds/game and Miami averaged 218 yds/game.
If they go to the ACCCG, and if he stays healthy, and if he remains the primary back, perhaps we're looking at Ru and DW's numbers.
I'd say totally realistic if it wasn't for JC coming back to share the rock. I'll be surprised to see him get 20 carries in another game this season unless JC's injury lingers.
"Is that all you got? Man, I can do this all day!"
"I fart in your general direction"
Take a look at some of that Trey Edmunds footage again. Look at how well the O line controls the line of scrimmage for him. I LOVE seeing the line be that way. Kind of reminds me of the year with Sean Glennon at QB where a QB sneak was easily 4-5 yards.
At work without Photoshop... but can't you just picture Logan here saying "Hey there, little guy!"
As soon as I saw Shane do that, my instant reaction was: "Byyyyaaaaahhhhhh"
LOL...That would be it.
hahaha I had to re-watch that skit on youtbe last night after seeing this
Can't use imgur at work but here's my #buzzcap
AJ McCarron: *screaming* Katherine!! KATHERINE! I am having this baby RIGHT...FUCKING...NOW AHHHHHHHHH!
Nigel Williams: ...I'm just gonna step over here... /walks away while McCarron births a full-grown Brent Musbaby
I freaking love Shane! It's a good thing it wasn't Foster doing the ass-slapping. Edmunds wouldn't walk for a week.
Who was more pumped?
This guy?
Or Shane?
Who is "that guy"?
