Virginia Tech commit Hendon Hooker just capped his senior season with a dominating 54-0 state championship win against Cape Fear. Hooker who accounted for 6 TD in the Class 4-A championship win , said he cannot wait to play at Lane Stadium in front of HokieNation.
With talented QB Josh Jackson on the roster and Hendon Hooker coming in, the future seems to be bright in Blacksburg.

Hook was already had of the god given tools (size' speed, agility ) to be a good college QB but, he has really upped the rest of his game. His film this year showed me improvement in all the areas i thought he wouldnt get better at until he was on campus. His film reminds me of josh jackson's but with more "upside". It was my opinion jj was a good qb last year but was not going to improve leaps and bounds (i thought he was already solid just needs his opportunity and will turn heads). Hooker seems to be a guy that could be solid but when he catches up 2 speed in college has as good of a chance to be playing on Sundays as any other prospect.

Looks like we'll have a good QB battle in spring/fall of 2018. By then, Jackson will have three years of eligibility left and Hooker will have four assuming he redshirts next year. I'm guessing Jackson will be groomed like Logan was during Tyrod's senior year.
Will help with the eventual move to TE.

I noticed in a few clips he is going to have to protect that football a little more when he gets to Blacksburg but WOW that kid's an athlete. I especially liked the zone read in the second clip. He seems like a perfect fit for Fuente's offense.

I also noticed on the last clip that they mentioned that he is up to 6'5' and 212 lbs. Get at least 15-20 lbs on him during a redshirt year and then a little more after that and he could be scary.

But I remember Lawson had a really similar build coming out of high school as Hooker has and his first year in the program he got jacked and gained those 15-20 pounds he needed before he, well you know...

In the interview shown in the article the interviewer mentioned Hendon's basketball season coming up in the Spring before he leaves for Blacksburg. I.e. He's not a Jan enrollee.
