TKP Fantasy Football - Battle Royale

Greetings, loved ones!

I apologize for having literally 0 TKP Fantasy Football updates this year. I decided that I needed to drop down in Hokie Legs so I could get closer to #69 overall (I fell too far, but Bruce Smith would tell you that #78 isn't a bad number either).

The in-conference playoffs are over, and we have four big winners:

Fu-ente Manchu (jgdon3) defeated TDs DDs (Choppin Wood by the Jugs) 97-90 to win the Bud Foster Conference despite being without two of his top players last week (Melvin Gordon and A.J. Green). A balanced attack featuring Carson Palmer, Lamar Miller, Golden Tate, Cameron Brate, Jeremy Hill, and Dan Bailey all in double digits got him the W.

The aptly-named Coale'd Blooded (vtviking) won the Danny Coale Conference, as they beat Tobacco Road Infiltrators (papilgee4evaeva) 123-91 this week. David Johnson (26) and the Dolphins' D/ST (21) scored over 20, and only Sammy Watkins had single digit points.

Old Warped Gashole (swhokie) took home the Four Fullers Conference title this week, with a 114-92 victory over TDs 'n Beer (freefall) Tyrod's running back (28) and David Johnson (22) paved the way to victory. Most impressively, swhokie never had more than three running backs on the roster all season (Shady, Johnson, and Giovani Bernard, who was replaced by Mike Gillislee last week).

The Fightin' Meerkats (Brockman_148) took down Take a Free Win (drunkengobbler) 114-102 to win the Frank Beamer Conference. The Meerkats were led by Brandin Cooks (30) and David Johnson (22), who helped the team overcome poor weeks by Terrelle Pryor (1), Travis Kelce (4), and the Ravens' D/ST (3).

Now, the fun stuff: jgdon3, vtviking, swhokie, and brockman_148 will battle royale over the next two weeks to see who is the champion of all that is The Key Play.
I will compute the stats by hand over the next two weeks. Week 16 will have standard ESPN league scoring (non-PPR) whereas Week 17 will have PPR scoring (but otherwise standard ESPN league scoring).

Since the league seasons are technically over, I don't know if they will allow us to actually make pick-ups. I will do that manually as well. Everyone may make two add/drops from their league's waiver wire each in week 16 and 17 (so 4 total, only 2 per week, not 3 one week and 1 the other). Consider all other teams locked, so even if for whatever reason ESPN allows eliminated teams to add/drop, I will reverse those transactions (there is no way to lock individual teams). You're limited to the current waiver pool for your players over the next two weeks.

The one winner of the combined weeks 16 and 17 will receive their choice of any one item from TKP store or they can elect a $20 donation to be made to TKP in lieu of a gift. If there is a tie, I will probably be really mad, and will send each of you half of a shirt.

Good luck!

As they say, "ties are like kissing your brother"...

...so while I promised to send everyone half of a shirt if this happened, I won't do that to a beautiful TKP shirt. Unless anyone finds an error in my scoring (or points out that I have the wrong guy in your lineup), I'll be donating $21 ($7 for each of the "winners") to TKP.

Damn, wish the Treadmill Horses had been a little more consistent (and better) this season so I would be in the running for half a shirt.

Sounds like your team has been consistently running in place

I'd like to take this time to thank Mike Evans, Rawls & Amari Cooper for absolutely screwing the pooch. 10 combined points.

Good Luck and of course Fu-ente Manchu better take that W

If it makes you feel better, ever match I was predicted to win this year most of my team screwed the pooch.

Danny Coale is like 7-11, he's always open

Also:

MFW everyone else has David Johnson so it would be convenient for him to have a non-serious injury that keeps him out for the next two weeks, but I also have him in a league that may or may not have a "prize" involved:

Danny Coale is like 7-11, he's always open

My plan to draft Cam, Kelvin, and Olsen didn't quite work out. Didn't help that I drafted AP #5 overall and led the league in points against.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Of course my team, the Nihilist Marmots, after going 10-3, decide to completely shit the bed in Round 1, then put up 140+ in the consolation bracket round 2

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

at least you didnt have gronk on your team this year. my team looked awesome until michael decided to be an idiot and gronk broke again. i had bell ryan gronk, if thats not a dangerous 1,2,3 iunno what is

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

Hahaha try Gronk, Woodhead and Charles.

It's my fantasy story. Every year I draft a guy who ends up on IR. going strong for 9 years like that. So you have any players you want out next season.

After starting 0-5, went 7-3 down the stretch. Picked up a 20+ point WR the final week.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Thanks for organizing this! Lots of fun!

Week 16 scores updated. Email coming to the participants, but everyone is more than welcome to double check my math (history major alert).

@historyhokie.bsky.social

Note to Self-> Draft David Johnson next year
Not to Self 2-> Somehow get #1 pick next year

In my other 2 leagues i made it to the championships. In this league i finished dead last. You guys are tough.

Go Hokies

Hopefully no one has Tyrod he just got benched.

Bump for the freaking 3-way tie

@historyhokie.bsky.social

I told you about fractional scoring bro, I told you dog.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

MFW Jay Ajayi finishes 1 yard short (59 rushing yards) of another point:
