Looking through MSN's ticker this morning and saw the link to this article. I thought Evans may be on it and sure enough he is the sixth player on the list. The biggest problem I have is that they have a picture of Ken Ekanem instead of Jerod. Glad these people do their homework. Thought I would share.

I'm so stoked to hear this! And I'm sure this won't be the only early Heisman list he'll find himself on. He was so consistently impressive all year. Let's get it! Evans/Ekanem for Heisman '17!

First of all, the list is in alphabetical order, so I wouldn't put any stock into the 6th place on the list part. Secondly, its MSN, which... lets be honest, I'm surprised they still exist.
That being said, I've seen his name pop up a lot in regards to 2017 hype. If he can improve upon his 2016 season, he very well could win the Heisman next year, or at the very least, get an invite to the ceremony.
He would need to improve on his numbers for sure, the recent standard set for dual threat QB's winning the Heisman is around 45+ total TD's.
He was sitting a very solid 37 this past season. I'm not overly excited about the Heisman, but I can't deny I would be excited to see a Hokie win it.
Just being in the conversation would be huge for the school.
This I agree with very much. I think we would benefit more from the notoriety and increased highlight footage on tv for recruiting purposes. It would be a strong appeal for our offense and our program.
Would it though? I'll put it this way, how much did TCU's stock rise when Trevon Boykin was named a Heisman finalist in 2015? If we were UVa, I could see your argument but I think we're way past that as a program.
MSN gets sports content from Yardbarker which is a fox sports subsidiary.
Why. Just why. I've heard of "September Heismans" but December heisman is just too much for me. No one wants Evans to succeed more than I do but this is just silly.
Isn't the December Heisman supposed to be the actual Heisman?
VT has Hooker and Washington State has Falk. Too bad they won't meet in college. It could have been an interesting match-up.
dont want to be on this.... im superstitous and remember the last time we had a player on this list (logan thomas and the 2012 debacle)
Man, I was hoping this guy would get some heisman hype.

Hahahahaha.
I've been waiting on this one. Leg for you.
Just one: question: what about Dwayne Lawson and Drew Harris?
they were tragically kidnapped by North Koreans....we have yet to get them back
Ok. Should we send in: 007, Nathan Hunt, John Wick or Jack Reacher?
Sam Rogers. Or would that be a declaration of war?
Captured by North Korea?
When did they transfer to UVa?
I never followed up on the original story...is that kid still over there?
Unfortunately yes.
That's because there's not really anything to follow up on. His life is now exactly as shitty as it was when the story first broke.
From what I remember he got sentenced to hard labor for an stupid amount of time
Why not? The guy came in to his first season as an unknown and was the calming influence on the offense, leading the team in passing and rushing with very respectable numbers. After seeing his interview, he is very humble and driven. He is Marcus Vick with humility, drive, and maturity.
So...he's literally anyone but Marcus Vick?
