Wait, so its not at the draft house this year or is this something different??

I took it as same event at new location.

I know they had another event at the ball room maybe in the summer if I can recall.

I was surprised too

I'll see ya there regardless ACowne63, I'll save the seats!

@vtscottyb

indeed!

I've thrown up there a few times.

You're not alone

Keep calm, Gobble on

Drafthouse is a much better venue for these things. It's wide and designed like a theatre - with a big screen and sound system. The Ballroom is flat and narrow; it's not conducive to viewing film and hearing about recruits.

And most importantly, even with the relatively small crowd of prior VT events, the bar service is SLOW.

I assume the Ballroom is much cheaper to rent.

Does anyone know who the speaker is going to be? Are we going to see Wiggins again?

@vtscottyb

Wiggins will be there

I am still trying to decide if it is worth the venture to Clarendon. I couldn't attend last year because of work. I hear that my questions at prior events were a great source of amusement to the audience.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

Clarendon is always worth the trip... there's like 2,000 bars within 10 city blocks.

Last time I was up there (2014?) it looked like JMU North.

So what you're telling me is, there were millions of beautiful women.

Anyone whose been to Spider Kelly's in Clarendon knows it's worth the trip. Every game this year was packed with Hokies, and the ladies never dissapoint. I've been to the last 3 Hokie Club events at Clarendon Ballroom and it's gone smoothly every time. The only issue is when people get on the mic and ask some well thought out complex O-line question to Stacy Searls and all he wants to do is shoot the shit and drink with the Alumni. The raffle prizes are always cool and not a ton of people buy the tickets, I've won twice. This team won 10 games this year, the least I can do is show up and pay my $20.

Pour some Beer on it

Ahem

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

I don't remember Searels doing that - at least simultaneously.

A lot of girls that look like they're from New Jersey. If that's what you're in to.

is this offensive?

is it bad that I can't tell?

how can you tell a girl is from NJ?

Onward and upward

by her driving

Now you need to apologize to my wife and daughter......

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Does anyone know what the food situation will be? I saw "light refreshments" and cash bar, but nothing about food.

@vtscottyb

I'm assuming it will be like the last Hokie Club event I went to at the Ballroom where they will have free light appetizers. Basically, enough to tide you over but I wouldn't count on it for dinner. There are plenty of places nearby to grab dinner before or after though.

Looks like I'll be in Arlington on 2/2, so instead of the Roanoke Hokie club event, I'll be at the Nova event!

NOVA Hokie Club had another event tonight with Fuente, Whit and several p,ayers and other athletic coaches etc. Anyone go to the event want to write up a new thread?
