Official 2014 Target- HS Senior Year Performance Thread

Its that time of the year again! High School Football! I figured this thread can be used for tracking all Hokie prospects through their senior years. I believe we had one last year.

I'm interested in hearing as much about Ford as I can. They had a scrimmage this week in which Andrew sprained his left (Throwing) shoulder, but he is still scheduled to start the opener.

Blurb about Marshawn Williams in Opener against DeMatha:

Marshown Williams led the Phantoms with 81 yards rushing, including an 11-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter that cut the deficit to 21-20.

DeMatha won 24-20

Some great video of Ford throwing at practice, and preview of their game tomorrow against Conestoga Valley.

We should have a weekly forum topic on how our 2014 commitments are doing.

Phoebus Running Back Marshawn Williams ran for 150 yards and a touchdown against Gloucster on Thursday night.

I went and watched Stonewall Jackson's Greg Stroman (a future Hokie) and Tim Settle (please oh please let him be a future Hokie) on Friday night. I will do a more detailed review later in the month (this week is just slammed with Alabama post game news.)

#Hokies WR commit Cameron Phillips had 7 catches, 137 yds & a TD in DeMatha's 26-9 win over Godby (Fla.) last night.

Hokie QB/WR/DB commit Travon McMillian had a big night, rushing for for 165 yards on 21 carries and passed for another 125 yards, as Hylton beat Osbourn 38-6.

McMillian will be given an opportunity to try QB at VT, but I think he will end up at receiver or defensive back. One receiver had 10 catches, but only got 43 yards. That means lots of screens.

Note, McMillian plays Stroman and Settle this Friday in Woodbridge this Friday

Sounds like a helluva scouting opportunity.

I am still looking for more details on his performance, but I can confirm that Kathleen Red Devil (Florida) WR/DB Hokie verbal commit Javon Harrison has returned two kicks for touchdowns in his first two games this season. I hope they seal the deal with Harrison. I think he can be a gamebreaker at WR and kickoff returner. He looks just like Cordarrelle Patterson when he catches and runs with the ball.

2014 VT Target - Shai McKenzie had 44 yards in the first half of his game. After going out at halftime limping came out and put up 190 yards and 3 td's in the 2nd half. Here's a nice story about how his mom drove up from Georgia to watch the game and made it for the 3rd quarter.

Vinny Mihota sufferered a broken bone in his foot: http://news.fredericksburg.com/hsfb/2013/09/08/mihota-suffers-broken-bon...

Mihota said if the break is closer to his toes, he will play Friday when the Panthers host Chancellor. He said if it's closer to his ankle, he'll miss as many as four weeks.

"I'm very nervous about it," Mihota said of the X-ray. "I want to be back on the field as soon as I can."

Mihota suffered a broken wrist during a dirt bike accident in the spring, but he said this is the first injury that could cause him to miss games. As a four-year starter, he's never missed a contest in his career.

Mihota has orally committed to Virginia Tech and plans to graduate from Massaponax early so he can enroll in college for the spring semester.

I didn't know he was a 4-year starter, hopefully his streak remains intact.

I was really hoping to see him go up against Steven Moss and Chancellor this Friday. I'm hoping he will still be out on the field, but I'll be checking updates on his status this week. Assuming he's cleared to play, I'll be at the game Friday to watch him play.

Does anyone have any updates on Nnadi and/or Walker? Seems to be pretty silent about those 2 and I think they are pretty much must gets.

Dayum.

That's impressive

Touchdown Tech - Bill Roth

Seems Raymon minor was at ECU today. I think to visit them, though I'm sure it helped VT.

Jacorien Payton is still doing decent too.

Wow, much quicker than last year. But, there is a chance I saw his Soph highlights.

You probably did see his soph highlights. But I do remember thinking he needs to get faster at the time I saw it and I'm definitely impressed by his improvement.

Who were they playing? Kind of looked like Hampton, but seem porous on d for them

in Fuller we trust

they usually play hampton last so i dont think its them

That's like an entire years worth of footage for most RBs.......and that's one game!

I saw that article earlier, he threw a really pretty, catchable, looking ball at the end of that vid.

Wow, Warwick is really really bad. I am not sure if Williams was even running half speed on the last couple TD's.

Marshawn Williams went for 239 and 3 tds last night

UVA: Jefferson's biggest mistake

@pbowman6

Too early to start with MMFW?

How many is that on the year?

Hes got 629 rushing I think thru 3 games and double digit tds already

@pbowman6

So better than all our RBs combined last year for the season....

Terrell Edmunds ran for 344 yards and 5 TDs last night. A brother backfield, maybe?

In Sam Rogers we trust.

marshawn Williams also ran for almost 250 and 4 tds

He is the real deal.

Williams got 5 tds tonight. Bradshaw had a good game too. Lot of commits won conference honors, such as cj, ford, walker, etc.

Edit: Williams also getting closer to enrolling early.
