Play of the Year

Have we ever done a play of the year at the end of the season? I've seen some Top 10 plays of the year videos before but I think it would be an awesome way to relive things and debate what we think as fans really turned a game or the season. My votes are Fords catch against BC and the fake punt we ran against Clemon/Rogers FB Td Pass is a tie for me. I'd prob go w the fake punt against Clemson. Really turned our momentum and got us going.

Ford's amazing catch against Pitt, where he went and took the ball from the defender essentially.

VT's WR trio vs. Pitt's entire secondary. Just the whole damn thing, and watching Pat Narduzzi progressively go more insane.

Okay, seriously? There were more meaningful plays, at more crucial times (Stro's block/AA's scoop & score in Durham; the Shegog Belk Bowl pick; the crazy Ford circus catch at Pitt; that unreal over-the-shoulder Bucky grab near the goal line in Chapel Hill), but come on. This is an easy one.

The Evans scramble vs ECU? With all the blocking and the triple juke into the end zone? Easily the 'holy shit' play of the year.

the numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster

Can we create a bracket with voting? I guess I could do it if no one else wants to.

Let me add the interception deep in Arkansas territory after their intentional grounding that led to our final touchdown.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Went ahead and compiled a list in order of what I read on the thread so far. Once we are set on a selection I'll set up a bracket and some voting. Here are sixteen, if there are more we can go to 32 plays or remove/add as you guys see fit. Also, can someone find a video of Settle?

Gotta go with the Sam Rogers Miami.... it was a FULLBACK to a FULLBACK.

...can't wait for next season.

Can anyone with video skills, say, stitch all these together in one long video then post it here?

It's from the full game film, but here's Settle's block against ECU:

On Alexander's return against Duke, one of the things that I like about that play is that Stroman doesn't just block the kick, he also keeps his balance, circles back, and blocks the kicker too.

Perfect. Thanks!

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

awesome start. It looks like https://brackify.com makes it super easy. I'm happy to do it, but I think we have enough plays to go to 32!

This needs to be a thing. To me, it's hard to beat Ford climbing the ladder against BC, but there were so many great plays this season. I'd love some official way to vote on this to create the official TKP list of top plays.

I remember a long while back when the FBS blog existed, you started a list of top 10 Virginia tech games of the 21st century. Could also be a very good offseason thread

Sam's one-handed TD catch in the Belk Bowl. So many great plays in that second half!

"Tajh Boyd over the middle . . . and it's caught for an interception! Michael Cole, lying flat on his back, ARE YOU KIDDING???"

Me taking my jacket off in South Bend despite the cold and wind. It is no coincidence that our defense stiffened up at the same time.

How could we forget Motu's #ScoopNScore? That TD was as long as his last name.

I guess the whole UVA game was one big highlight.

it really is. I've re-watched it several times already.

In the moment, in the stands at Bristol, Travon's TD against the Vols was super exciting. The hurricane game is my favorite moment of this past season though. I felt like we could beat the Patriots after that game.

And then Syracuse happened...

You are correct on Travons Td run. I love seeing him break loose. My fav running back we have!

The Duke game. Pick a play, any play. It defined our season and the character of this team. I go to the moments after the targeting call where we held their offense to seal the game.

I'm going with Stroman's punt return for a TD wearing #25.

It was perfect.

I think I'm going with Evans long winding run against whichever lame team we beat that day
