Finally got a chance to generate a bracket and some voting. Here's the (very bland and boring) bracket:

And here is the link to vote on the first round. This will cut off at 10:00 PM on Wednesday Evening! Each round will run approximately 48 hours, except for the final which I will run for 72 hours. The bracket and seeding were generated by the plays submitted here in the order in which I found them. No science or thought involved.
Happy Voting! And let me know if you see a typo or something.

curious to see how this pans out. voted.
That was tough man! Voted.
Alright guys, you know the drill. Let's garden & gun this mother...
Damn, I forgot about that. Explains why so many croots are picking b'burg!
edit: Dork double post
Pretty sure Sam scored a TD on that route.
1. I'll be voting for Evans ECU run the whole way through
2. ECU really got the worst of it this year didn't they.
I do not feel bad for them
Can we write one in? /s
Had to vote for Motley, dude was a team player.
69 response so far.
nice.
man that was tough
That was an evil bracket. There were a lot of hard choices in round one.
yeah, WTH is up with that seeding. See this is why we need computers to do this instead of fallible humans...
Thanks for doing this. Should be fun.
I can't believe you're bringing politics to this site, don't you read the community guidelines? http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2013/july/24/community-guidelines
Very Sad!

Hmm, just thought of something. What happens if (when?) a Hokie actually legitimately runs for political office somewhere? Are we allowed to bring it up and discuss it? I would imagine that any talk of actual policy would be discouraged, at the very least.
Virginia Tech doesn't have someone running for office, but President Trump's chief strategist and campaign manager for the election, Stephen Bannon, got a degree from Tech.
This was meant as a *the more you know* thing and nothing more. Hopefully no one shares their opinions about his political views.
The answer seems obvious to me: Start a separate OT thread, to discuss. Leave politics out of sports threads, unless you're discussing the "politics" within the NCAA economic structure as a key point in the thread.
Then what is there to discuss? "Hey, [former Hokie] is running for office." Statement of fact, can't discuss anything else, so that's really a non-thread. I imagine if this happens, the normal newspaper/online writers will pick it up and anyone who follows VT will know. I really, really don't want anything politically motivated touching TKP.
Voted. For some reason I selected almost all of the first choices.
You're an evil man for matching up Sam's TD pass and Ford's record breaking TD catch.
I know you didn't do it, but you still did it.
After I voted, I went ahead and filled out the next couple rounds of the bracket, but I'm stuck in the Semifinals. I initially had Ford's back catch beating out Rogers to Peoples in the finals, but then I started second guessing myself and changing it up until I eventually ended up clearing out back to the final four.
Should this be called January Madness?
I've got Sam Rogers TD over ACC Championship fake punt in the finals. Hard to argue with that (though that Jerod Evans TD vs ECU was amazing.)
ACC championship fake punt was awesome on so many levels though. It was executed perfectly (so close they had to review it to confirm, but still good) and signaled the end of a skid. Without that fake, the game is over. Biggest impact of any play that game and arguably our biggest game of the year.
Despite the fact Mitchell Ludwig overthrew edmunds by at least 4 yards (ducks)
Finally! Somebody gets it, this has been my number one play since i posted the topic!
Man, lots of tough calls in there
-Pat Narduzzi
Fuck Pat Narduzzi
The Jerod Evans run vs ECU and Isiah Ford TD vs BC was the hardest call for me. Evan's run was amazing, but Isiah going up and making that catch over 2 defenders AND the perfect through from Evans was just 2 good.

But man, the seeding is all screwed up. I think the fake punt and Jerod's run are both easily in the top 4, but they'll face each other in the second round.
Seedings?
To those griping about the seeding, voting is really not even close right now. It's quite obvious people aren't struggling with decisions. They will later on, that's the way tournaments typically go.
I'd be open to random reseeding after this round, however.
Many thanks for putting this together. Looking forward to Round 2!
Just because it isn't necessary close, doesn't mean we didn't struggle. I ended up voting against Ford and felt horrible, but those other plays...
Yeah but the best play is still going to win out. My point is, it's supposed to be hard. We've taken 16 plays out of a massive season. It was gonna be hard regardless unless you cherry picked everything.
Yep, tough to pick just 16. I know it was after the UVA game was well in hand, but the pick that was lateraled for about 15 more yards was a play I really liked from our D. Some good out of the box thinking on the spot in that one.
Instead of random reseeding, could we do seeding based on the overall percentages of the first round? This may be closer to a fair seeding scheme.
that wouldn't reflect a true seeding because it would just show who more people preferred of the two options for each head to head. A true seeding would be to have everyone rank them 1-16 and then use those results. But then, why even have the bracket because you've just gotten your answer?
Exactly. In a situation like this, seeding would show us who number one is without even going through the bracket. I thought about seeding but I told myself, the best would win anyway.
Thanks for putting this together! Just voted
BAMA's GUNNA WIN IT ALL PAWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
GREG STROMAN'S PUNT RETURN AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY PAWWLLLLLLLL
Kick 6 all the way
Not only did it win the game in the end but it proved that VT Special Teams are still going to be a nightmare for opponents even with Frank watching from the luxury suites.
The Evans TD run vs. ECU and Isaiah's TD catch vs. BC are my top two for sure
Updated for quarterfinals (didn't think it warranted a new thread).
So you (VT_Warthog) showed Cam's juke won up top but have Adonis in the bracket and on the survey. Error?
Still voted. Thanks!
Corrected, thats what I get for doing that at 11:00 at night.
Also first matchup says "Jerod Evans BC touchdown" instead of ECU. Sorry for calling you out again
What does that tell you about how I feel about Boston College? (thanks haha)
It's so difficult because they are the best plays, but I also think of the timing. CJ's reception was a momentum shifter as was Shegog interception. While Rogers pass was an excellent play, the interception started it all in the Belk bowl.
Cam must not be denied. He broke two (2) sets of ankles on that play!
This is fact! Im gonna be super pissed if he doesnt make it very far in this.... but still number one play is the fake punt in the title game. Hands down!
I have to admit that was pretty sweet.
Bump. Voting ends at 11:00 PM tonight. Very very very close between Jerod and the Fake punt as well as Isaiah's catch and Greg's return.
Updated for semi finals!
fullback to fullback passes FTW
It pleases me to no end that we'll have a special teams play in the finals either way.
Was sorely tempted to vote again but choose the opposite plays. This was a tough choice.
Evan's touchdown run against ECU didn't make it? yall crazy
Honestly, great plays in unimportant games weighed less for me than maybe less impressive ones in close games.
ECU 3rd degree BURN!
Same for me. Loved Evans' TD run against ECU, but that game was an absolute blowout.
But Philips' ankle breaking TD... fun AND key to our comeback.
offseason bump
