Pretty good tape, but 6-0 163 probably had some of the big schools shying away

kid's got a great head on his shoulders, I can see that already. After all, he turned down a scholarship from Coach FML to walk-on for the good guys, which is a lot more than I can say for a whole generation of LOLUVa players...

and that says a lot

I like the one at 1:28 where he and his QB convince the DB's that the QB has a 60 yard cannon.

Someone please explain PWO.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Preferred walk-on, so he doesn't get a scholarship but the coaches are specifically inviting him to try for a place on the team.

SEAT AT THE TABLE!!!!

Huh, so that's how Sam made the team.

He also gets to report at the start of Fall camp.

When do 'normal' walk-ons try out? I would have thought that would be before Fall camp as well.

I have no idea when VT schedules true walk-on tryouts. A preferred walk-on gets to report and start with the team when the scholarship Freshmen do.

They usually happen in the spring at the start of spring practice. Years ago, you filled out a questionnaire and showed up for a few drills. They basically looked you over, timed you in a 40 and shuttle run, then decided if they were gonna keep you on in spring practice. If you made it through the spring, they may or may not keep you on in the fall. I suspect they need bodies in the spring due to graduation and attrition.

MANASSAS WHAT

Manassas, Virginia, I believe.

Pros: Great hands, natural catcher. Obvious speed

Cons: Needs to run cleaner routes. Needs to show how to work a DB instead of just running by them.

I'm glad we have him

This kid has another gear.

So why was my post on this PWO deleted as so saw no other posts on this last night when I entered it? Just would like to know? By the way, welcome young man. Love this kids film and surprised he had no P5 offers!

I really like this kid ! Is this a small school in VA?

Definitely not small. When I graduated in 2003, we had close to 3000 students (in a building designed for 2000). Graduating class of 650 if I recall. Not a football powerhouse, though we were decent my senior year and our RB and QB got a look from JMU and some other small schools, at least as PWO but I don't think that really panned out.

Ok got you . This kid gots some speed he makes a lot of these other kids looks slow they played against .
