When the Falcons drafted QB Matt Ryan in 2008, Michael Vick—then in prison—realized that his time playing in Atlanta was likely over. How did he move past that disappointment and turn into one of the team's biggest cheerleaders? He reflects on that and more in this extensive interview.

Does MV7 have kids? If so, what year will one of them be starting for the hokies under center?
Just please, for the love of Frank, keep the kids away from Uncle Marcus.
I'm sure the Virginia Prison Systems will be helping with that periodically.
This sounds a whole lot darker than even Marcus deserves.
I choose to read that as "keep them away from bad influences," not anything darker than that.
And Dogs
They have a dog.
Way to go, you jinxed it
I mean, if nobody signed him in a year where Brock Osweiler, Matt Moore, and Conner Cook started playoff games, he's probably done for good.
Is a 30 for 30 How Vick Changed The Game, too much to ask? Bleacher report was ok but vague due to no one wanting to be interviewed.
Also bring him back as a coach in some form.
There was a reddit thread on r/cfb asking for what cfb related 30 for 30 people would want to see, a lot of hokies including myself suggested making one about how Vick changed the QB position in CFB.
There is Bo Jackson that I watch every time it's on and MV7's if they make it. Too many storylines not to make it great. Talk about ratings
The Bo Jackson one may be my favorite. That dude was the hero of my era.
I really like the Marcus Dupree one too. All the stuff that went on with his recruiting was just crazy. The footage of him in HS with the tearaway jerseys was just insane.
An MV7 30 for 30 would be incredible.
I dunno, he'd probably be a terrible coach. So much of his game was just natural to him. I remember him saying he started watching film for the first time only once he got to Philly.
"Coach"=recruiter
That'd I'd agree with
Honestly he needs to be a motivational speaker to all crowds. The man is one of the few cases to be so high in the world then hit rock bottom and was able to bring himself back up. I mean #1 draft pick and multimillion dollar football deal to prison and large amount of debt to come out of his sentence and have a second chance. I hope he gets a book deal or something because I would love to know how he became a changed man. H
Mike Vick changed the QB position. He will make a great QB coach and offensive coordinator after gaining some experience. He is right. The future is bright. He just needs one more opportunity from the 93% that still believe in him.
I don't agree. Being physically superior does not make you a great coach. He wasn't a student of the game until nearing the end of his career. I have no issues or grudges against Mike Vick, always enjoyed watching him play, and wish him all the best, but he rarely demonstrated the hard work or mental grasp needed to properly teach any position.
Agreed - there's a reason that hall of fame players rarely make hall of fame coaches. Hall of fame players have a skill/athleticism/work ethic that skews their outlook/understanding of the game such that it is much different from that of your average college/semi-pro/lower level professional.
Mike Vick is the type of athlete to whom football came so naturally to... I'm not sure he'd be able to break the sport down and lead an offense of lesser players. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just my guess. That being said, I could definitely see him as mentor/consultant to a player/team/coach.
He was not a student of the game as a young QB. He turned his life around after his downfall and began learning the playbooks. He was a winner for each of his teams. The guy has collegiate and professional experience at the highest level. He set the path for a lot of DT QB. The way the game is being played right now, Vick has plenty to offer as a young coach.
Anyone else react like this?
