As those of us with kids might be aware, comedian George Carlin was the original narrator for the American version of British children's show Thomas the Tank Engine. A fan of both Carlin and Thomas the Tank Engine has recut scenes from the show using some more... traditional... Carlin material. The result is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
And for the love of God, don't let your kids see this.

10 points for whoever can name the original narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine (w/out using internet...lol, I know I can't enforce that part)

Someone who wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles
I know nothing about his drumming proficiency. But he certainly had the coolest name out of the bunch
I had forgotten about that! Man that takes me back. I had several VHSs of Thomas narrated by Ringo. He has a knack for lulling a crazy 4 year old into a calm, submissive state
I grew up watching Thomas the Tank Engine. I didn't even know they made an American version of it until I was in my 20s and a guy I worked with kept saying something about "Thomas the train" and when I corrected him he informed me that they were slightly different. I had no idea.
More recently, there was a claymation (and later animated) show called Fireman Sam that took place in a Welsh sea-side town and they all spoke with lovely South Wales accents. Then it disappeared off of Netflix and Amazon for a bit, and showed back up on Amazon a year later and they had re-dubbed the entire thing with fucking American voice actors. I was livid.
Fireman Sam was great.
I had no idea Carlin narrated this show...and it's all my kids watched for the better of two years.
That video is hilarious, my God.
Leg! Good TKP fodder!
Loved this show when I was younger, loved George Carlin once I was a teenager, and I remember laughing pretty hard once I realized he also was Mr. Conductor on this show. Fun times on the island of Sodor.
Man, I miss George Carlin, one of the best comedians of all time.
man, the things he'd have to say if he were alive today. oh boy
I think about this all the time. I also wish Dave Chappelle was still doing Chappelle's show during the Obama years. Would've been some amazing comedy.
Did you see his monologue on SNL right after the election? It was hilarious.
"I'm torn, because I'm black and always wanted to see a black president. But then we finally get one right when I get rich and all of a sudden he wants to take all my money. I think I'd rather keep my money, so I'm gonna give Trump a chance."
Please don't downvote me
Richard was the man in the seventies. Listened to him on cassette riding around on Saturday nights.
Edit: very not safe for work
That's one part of my childhood that will never be the same.
For the better!
As the father of 2 boys obsessed with Thomas, this was fucking hilarious
