Apparently one of the Beatles was a Hokie

I mean, how else do you explain the color scheme of the recently announced George Harrison Vinyl Collection

Clearly this is in homage to the fact that the HokieBird reveals him or herself at graduation by wearing the feet. Cheers to our deceased secret Hokie Ambassador to Britain.

Fun fact: Paul, George, John, and Hokie Bird would all write songs together after a night of Rails at TOTS

TOTS established in 1978, the Beatles broke up in 1970... checks out

Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies

True story, enough drugs were had that the years involved are a little hazy

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

If you play Revolver while watching any of the Hokies games vs UVa, the Hokies still win every one of them, but Revolver is one of the best albums ever made, so I highly recommend it.

Leonard. Duh.

The white album was named after the symbolic act that UVa deploys in most of their football games against us. True story.

True story: Before some minor tweaks the song was titled "Baby you can ride my treadmill".

Very few people are aware of the Maroon and Orange album, which was never released and is rumored to be in Paul McCartney's Manhattan apartment.

You mean fake Paul McCartney's Manhatan apartment!

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

DON'T CONFUSE BEATLES' MUSIC WITH HARRISON'S SOLO WORK!

Revolver-Beatles
Baby you can ride my treadmill=Beatles LMAO
White Album-Beatles

You young guys don't know shit!

This is all true crap. GH had been writing music during his Beetle years; however, since Mac and Lennon were too busy exchanging hand jobs, his music rarely made it onto a Beetle's album. You can actually hear one of these hand jobs climaxes in the orchestration of "A Day In A Life". No shit!

We should pay homage to "Still Miami Weeps", Here Comes The FU" and "Piggies Aint Horses ;as they are proper Beetles songs.

After his career with the Beetles he had hits such as, "My Sweet Hokie", "Isn't Miami A Pitty" and "Isn't It A Shame UVA Sucks".

RIP GH!

Being an old timer, there are not nearly enough legs for this post. Still caught in the 60's, music wise, Doobie to ya.

Let's not forget the dreaded Yellow Submarine offense Paul and John installed during their brief stint as co-offensive coordinators

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

If you play 'I Me Mine' backwards, you will hear 'Zima Sucks.'

true.

FOSTERS: Australian for defense

*puts on his flame retardant suit* I really don't get everyone's enfatuation with the Beatles. Yes, they are a good classic rock band, but I've never been blown away by them. Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, and Black Sabbath are all superior bands in my opinion. Banish me to Siberia if you will.

Bob: What would ya say ya do here?

Brad: I already told you! I iron out the minutiae so Justin doesn't have to. I have people skills dammit! What the hell is wrong with you people?

This is pretty much me right now

It's really hard to compare bands from so far apart on a musical time line. Beatles, Stones and Kinks produced music out of England that changed how music was played in the US, bringing it from the late 50's style to something new. The Beatles did this better then anyone, with multiple hit albums popularizing different styles of the bass, lead and rather guitar in front of drums. The Stones were very much second to the Beatles throughout the early sixties, but gained popularity after the Beatles broke up by being part of the second wave of British music in the late 60's by joining Sabbath and The Who in pioneering early 70's classic rock. It sounds like you like classic rock better than early rock or disco, as do I, but I believe the Beatles were the best at what they did when they did it, and appreciate it for that. It is also the music my parents would often listen to on LP because it was popular when they were in school, and as such is part of what we played or sangTo our kids, now in High school/college. It also helps that there are more Beatles songs than Zepplin and Sabbath combined. Musical taste is one of those things it's easy to tolerate a different opionion on.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Nice to see young guys with appreciation for classic rock.!

Fun fact: The song 'Help' was originally conceived when Lennon was watching a VT/LOLUVA game and he wanted to capture the desperation that the Hoos were feeling.

In the following album, 'Revolver', he followed up with part two on the same theme with the song, 'Run For Your Life', and two years later, on 'Sgt. Pepper', he relayed the goal of the following week's practice with, 'Fixing a Hole'.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me?

Yup. Checks out.

DID YOU KNOW: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was originally written to commemorate LOLUVA's singular victory over the Hokies this millenium. Written during TimeCop's tenure, it was an homage to his law enforcement past and the fact that their single 21st century win was likely to be alone forever.

Also, the outfits they donned for the album and video were LOLUVA player designed, although they had originally been requests for potential Hoo football uniforms.

The Sgt Peppers uniforms look more like the basis for future Maryland designs.

On a related note, the market has recently figured out that UnderArmour was way overvalued.

In general the acid induced music of this era reflected neo-euphoria that LOLUVA fans feel.

Of course, "I'm A Loser" was written by Lennon as loluva's fight song.

I just have to share this song with ya'll...I know the Beatles rock and the Stones roll and I might be from Potomac MD but my mama is from Danville VA (Same HS as David Wilson) and The Band is amazing and this song is the tits:

In 1964, LOLUVA coach George Blackburn was asked where the LOLUVA football program was headed in the next few years. "Nowhere, man," was his reply.

In 1965, The Beatles released the song Nowhere Man on the British version of the Rubber Soul album.

Coincidence?

Love this topic! Cause me loves "me some music".

Story from Hammer of the Gods. George shows up at a Zep show and is talking to Page. Harrison asks who is opening for you? Page says no one. We play for 2-2 1/2 hours. George responds with we play for 45 min and if we hurry up we are off in 30.

The entire argument for why I consider Zeppelin>Beatles. Blink and you'd miss a Beatles concert
