Watching today on my ipad on the golf course at Myrtle! I know terrible right? I'm at a buddy's bachelor party. Excited to see a strong performance from our D and smart performance from Logan. Go Hokies!

I think the Hokies will struggle in this one and then pull away in the 4th quarter. ECU has always given the Hokies fit over the years.
I feel like I'm the only one who feels remarkably confident about this one. I think we win convincingly.
I'm with you. I think that the defense brings it- lights out. And I think that our offense opens up the throttle and chews up the ECU defense. Maybe even some impressive special teams play shows up (I'm not banking on this). But I am optimistic that we see the hokies play a complete game today!
Curious, does anyone know where you can listen to the game if you aren't in a coverage area? I will get to watch it on Fox Sports but I would much rather pause it for about 3 seconds and have my commentary come from Bill and Mike.
Last week I tried IHeart radio, as some of the affiliates are on the site, but none of them actually broadcast the game online..and of course I don't want to pay to listen...

No I'm serious, he needs to be sat now before we start ACC play..he makes some horrible decisions and has looked terrible so far this year. Granted, there were a couple of drops, but when you miss a screen pass that any of us could throw he needs to come out..even if it's for two series.

Logan had knowles 1 on 1 and under threw him. Leal's weakness is that he has a weak arm so I doubt that would have been better. So it's 3rd and long and Logan pretty much guarantees a 50 yard punt and puts ECU deep in their side...I can't complain with Logan's play--a couple close throws but not too bad.
I love the guy...but he is just so frustrating...
I think it's frustrating seeing as how he and the WR's were clicking at the beginning of the game. Keep in mind that this is the third game with a new offensive scheme that ALL players are new to, not to mention a lot of young WR's. Most NFL teams have months to get a new offense installed and have 4 preseason games. Patience will be the key to this season.
oh I agree. Here is my point: Logan was the man going into spring, and we all know why- his ceiling is so high. We all walked into the Georgia Dome thinking that our o-line was going to be terrible, and we were all pleasantly surprised when we saw otherwise. Are they great? God no, but competition and not just getting to start because you are the senior pushed them all to be better and it shows.
Why should the QB position be any different? if you are bouncing 5 yard passes then you need to know you have to step it up because there is a guy behind you that might not be as good as you, but may want it more..
..that's all I'm saying..
yeah I see your point. However, QB play is all about confidence and chemistry with your receivers. If you only complete 5 passes in the first game that is literally 1 drive worth complete passes in an entire game--no chemistry. A QB should know and trust that his receivers are where they should be and I don't think they are at t hat point. Furthermore, I think Logan has a problem staring down his target so the D usually can pick up where he is going. Like I said, there is a lot of growth that needs to happen today and next week, but Leal won't be a better option.
Glennon wouldn't have seemed like such an awful QB if we had had anything even remotely resembling an O-line. But keep up the negativity, it's really getting you somewhere

That first half felt a lot like our OOC games last year. D is playing well (few mistakes here and there). O is sleep walking. No emotion or fire.
That ECU QB definitely has some wheels.
The lack of play-action is appalling. Completely unacceptable. If ECU is going to attack the LOS that recklessly to stop the run for an entire half, the OC has to make them pay.
Why start Logan Thomas at quarterback if you aren't going to use him in the rushing game at all? Thomas has a lot of gifts, but his strength is not to sit back in the pocket and read the defense and throw the ball all over the field. Loeffler needs to use him more running the ball up the middle. It's a waste not too.
If Loeffler wants to sit back in shot gun like he did this half, he needs to think about making a change at Quarterback because he's asking a great athlete to do things that he isn't great at doing.
That's how I feel right now, we'll see how I feel at the end of the game. Right now, the Kraken is doing a lot of my typing.

Are these guys being coached on special teams? Poor judgement on kickoff and punt returns in each game thus far this year.
Knowles can't hesitate on the kickoff return.
IMHO he shouldn't be returning kicks. He's very fast. But he jogs/trots to wai for the blocks. If that our plan, then a RB is better suited. If he's going to the return guy. Use ur jets and fly to a spot where a blocker (or 2) are and trust them to screen a player to get you by.

Maybe I have just played too much NCAA over the years but I thought you couldn't onside on a safety punt.
After a safety is scored, the ball is put into play by a free kick. The team that was scored upon must kick the ball from their own 20-yard line and can punt, drop kick, or place kick the ball. In professional play, a kicking tee cannot be used however, a tee can be used in high school or college football. Once the ball has been kicked, it can be caught and advanced by any member of the receiving team, and it can be recovered by the kicking team if the ball travels at least 10 yards or a player of the receiving team touches the ball.

When a safety happens, a team has the option of either punting the football from the 35 yard line, or kicking off from the 20 yard line. if they elect to kick, then its a standard kickoff and they can onside kick if they'd like.
It was a sloppy game but our defense played well after that first drive. One thing I have to say is $8 pitchers for Yuengling at Sharkeys was the tits today! 4 pitchers for the game and the first half of the bama game was what had to happen today!
