This is one of the more intriguing Sundays that I can remember. Will Sergio get his Major, 18 years in the making? Anybody like Rickie Fowler to get his first? Jordan appears to be back in form. Justin Rose is always a threat. How low can Martin Kaymer get today? Its beautiful outside and all I want to do is sit on my couch and watch. Anyone with me?

Spieth is choking
Happy for Sergio. The man definitely deserves it.
Opened the thread without checking the title. Saw this as my first unread post, wondered what Render had just accomplished.
I would lose my shit if a Hokie won a masters, let alone a former football player ha
That's not looking at all likely. The only two Hokies to play on the PGA Tour are Johnson Wagner and Brendon de Jonge.
de Jonge failed to keep his tour card last year, so he's on the Web.com tour this year with the occasional sponsor's invite and Monday qualifier.
Wagner started off strong with a Top 5 finish in the first event of the season in Napa, but has struggled mightily since.
In order to gain an invite for the Masters you need to be either a PGA Tour winner in the year leading up to the event or in the Top 50 of the official world golf rankings. Neither de Jonge or Wagner are anywhere near the Top 50, so just to have a Hokie participate in the Masters is a long shot. Wagner has played it before, but de Jonge never has since he's never won an event.
Yep, that was as good of a finish as could have been expected from two Euro's playing down the stretch. At last Danny Fucking Willett wasn't in it. That guy is the Pat Narduzzi of Euro Golf.
What. A. Finish.
Watching someone who has spent their entire life pursuing a goal finally achieve it is what makes sports the highest form of entertainment.
Edit: Shows how much I rely on red squiggles to keep me from looking like an idiot.
Perusing =/= pursuing
Villanova, the Cubs, Clemson, and now Sergio. Hell even Gonzaga made the Final Four.
Man, VT breaking through doesn't really seem that unlikely anymore.
Monday after the Masters here in Myrtle Beach area. Great celebrity charity event run by Hootie and the Blowfish.
Hootie and the Blowfish still play shows?
I thought it was just Darius Rucker
They play one show, this one because the charity he sat up is called Hootie and the Blowfish foundation.

They actually also play a weekend in Charleston, usually the second weekend in August. One show Friday night and one show Saturday night show in the tennis arena (can't remember the name).
The proceeds also go to his foundation.
Edit: just looked it up and they have been playing at Family Circle Cup Stadium (now Volvo Stadium) from 2010-2016 in the first few weekends of August. Definitely go if you have the chance - although dates haven't been announced for this year.
Listened to them growing up so I'll definitely have to keep an eye out.
Didn't know that. The venue he plays in North Myrtle Beach is awesome everyone from Hootie to Snoop to Hunter Hayes, Heoege Clinton all play there.
My biggest question:
Is Darius Rucker Hootie or the Blowfish?
Hootie.
Great question. In many interviews, Darius Rucker has specifically stated he is NOT Hootie, but that the whole band is just Hootie and the Blowfish
Beta Eta 696 here! I have never even noticed you were on here!
Yeah man, I'll have to find you at one of the tailgates next year
Pretty awesome he kept going all these years to finally win.
That last putt was so sweet.
Happy for Sergio. Its rare the last pairing in the Masters (or usually any Major) lives up to the hype like that. Usually feels like 1 of the guys goes on to win inevitably and the other more or less fades away and has a bad round.
Hats off to Justin Rose too. He didn't wilt under golf's highest pressure situation. The other guy just played a little bit better. Nothing to be ashamed of there. He has more major victories in his future I think.
