Hendon Hooker, QB, Virginia Tech – Throughout his coaching career, Justin Fuente has had a knack for finding quarterbacks. In Hooker, he's found one once again. Hooker's passing performance in the spring game (10-11, 113 yards) puts him right in the hunt for the starting job as a true freshman. A four-star coming out of high school according to 247Sports, Hooker is huge, athletic and sports a big arm but he's adapting to the college game even more quickly than we expected. Fuente also has to be excited that one of Hooker's favorite targets is looking like fellow true freshman Caleb Farley. I think Dalton Keene, while not particularly overlooked on this site, might be more primed to contribute immediately than any EE at this stage. Obviously, Hooker could win the QB job and I, like everyone else it seems, would love to see Farley get the ball early and often on offense this fall.
I don't know.. I think Bradburn might have the edge for most primed to contribute.. what with the zero competition at punter and all. But really this is an good EE group.
Keene, Farley and Pimp are guaranteed good minutes. Pimp less so at WR depending on CJ.
Bush and Hooker only do if they win the job. Or Bush in 4th Q after JJ rests.
Kearney and Dzansi red shirting, guessing since Kearney is recovering from injury.
Wheatley is the only wildcard of the EEs.
Totally forgot about Bradburn, if he wins the job then obviously he will be a huge contributor. I have a feeling Wheatley will redshirt, if for no other reason than to get him a slightly more college ready body, particularly because he is playing rb and his role will be likely filled by a now healthy McClease.
