I wanted to see if we could put Bryan Randall back on the list for the Chinese Arena league for 2017, but there's not much info on their site other than this gem:
So it's not a draft, but it's a draft? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Randall and Xavier Boyce were both protected by their team, the Quingdao Clippers, so both should be playing over there again this next season.
David Wang was playing both Arena football for the Washington Valor and for the Guangzhou Power in the Chinese Football League. He still is on the Power.
Bucky Hodges - Vikings?
That's weird I copied the list from the website. Good catch.
I don't see them on the roster anymore so I suppose they were cut, but for at least a game this year, David Wang and JR Collins were on the Washington Valor AFL team.
David Wang was the #1 overall pick in the Chinese football league's inaugural draft too.
Are Brandon flowers or Jayron Hosley still playing football?
both are FAs right now. Flowers got cut by the Chargers a couple weeks/months ago
Flowers is still unsigned after playing for the Chargers last season.
Hosley last played for the Giants in 2015.
Flowers didn't look all that bad last time I saw him with the Chargers against my Ravens last season. I think he may have had an int and a couple pass breakups. If the Ravens had a need at corner, like they did last year, but not so much now, I would have liked to have seen them bring Brandon in for a looksie.
This is a prove it year for Kyle Fuller, as the Bears declined his rookie contract option for next season.
He's proving it.....
Eddie Royal is still recovering from the foot surgery he had in December 2016, which led the Bears to cut him this spring. He should be healthy by training camps is my understanding so may find a shot then.
Chargers reunion would be nice given his rapport with Rivers
Ryan Malleck was cut by the Steelers on 5/16
A few different names on this list:
http://www.hokiesports.com/football/recaps/20170516aaa.html
Notably, they don't list JC Coleman at all, although his twitter bio still shows BC. A few other names in the CFL apparently, including Boykin and Maddy.
The only player listed on CFL team websites roster is Coleman. Not sure where they got information from.
Arena--Davon Morgan is listed as a DB for the Richmond Roughriders, not sure if their roster has been updated since the start of the season
There are so many arena leagues with players that come and go it's hard to keep up.
JC Coleman no longer on BC Lions roster but Luther Maddy was added.
Ryan Malleck signed to Ravens.
NOOOOO, not the Ravens.
We need Hokies in the NFL no matter what team they are on. The cuts are going to be brutal this season I fear.
Malleck getting a look because of the injury to Pitta. I feel bad for Pitta. That hip of his is killing what would have been a top tier TE.
Poor bastard, they kill TE's there
Shannon Sharpe, Dallas Clark, Owen Daniels, Dennis Pitta and Todd Heap would beg to differ. What do you mean?
This makes me sad. I hope the #1 LOLUVa roaster on Twitter can get another shot somewhere.
One day, James Gayle will be the agent for a UVA alum, and on the day of closing, will hang a VT flag on the new buyer's porch.
I know he's been interested in Real Estate for a long time. He very graciously offered to help Phillip Sims return back to Chesapeake to complete his online coursework in 2012.
I think he'd be an excellent tweeter at blue chip recruits on our behalf (as a hobby, naturally).
Sam Rogers has officially signed an NFL contract with the Rams.
Solid Clip/Quick Article about Daryl Tapp's leadership on the Saints' Defense

I have updated the NFL roster list with the best information I have as of today, as always if you see something leave a comment and I'll update once it's verified by team or NFL.
Any updates on Evans? How bad his injury was, for example. Does he have any chance of making a squad this year?
Not a word from him or any NFL sources nothing on the web or social media.
Kyle Fuller update per the Chicago Tribune
"At this point, as stunning as it may sound, simply making the opening-day roster would be an accomplishment"
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-bears-first-round...
Yep not great, drafted by different coaches using a different defensive scheme. Like I've said this years cuts may be brutal for Hokies.
Hmm... The Redskins may have a coach that can rekindle that NFL potential we've seen that warranted a 1st round pick. I don't think Coach Gray would even need to introduce himself to Mama Fuller.

Kendall has struggled a bit so far but seems to have turned a corner (pardon the pun):
Fuller 'definitely better,' another year removed from knee surgery
Wonder what could have changed....
Tyrod throwing to LT82
I got it from a #sauce that A.J. Hughes was only cut to free up roster space to try out some guys at other positions over the summer and he was told to stick around because Pittsburgh will re-sign him once the season starts.
Tough call there for AJ. I don't think I would be "sticking around" because you have no guarantee that shittsburg will re-sign, but if he shops around there is no guarantee he makes another team and possibly risks his shot with the squeelers.
Titletown
Tell us how you really feel about the 6-time Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers
FYI: Roc Carmichael (Winnipeg) is currently playing on ESPN2
Duane Brown, VT's favorite TE to OL conversion, is underpaid with two years left on his non-guaranteed contract, and here are some links to articles on his possible/impending camp holdout:
http://www.chron.com/sports/texas-sports-nation/article/Smith-Duane-Brow...
https://www.sbnation.com/2017/7/27/16035694/nfl-teams-training-camp-hold...
http://deadspin.com/duane-browns-holdout-is-a-test-1797234805
He definitely deserves to get a new contract, he's been a first team all-pro. He is under the radar as a lineman, but he is one of the best NFL hokies ever.
Doing some internet googling over the FOUR indoor leagues in operation looking for Hokies. Thanks to French for finding JR Collins and David Wang on the Washington Valor.
http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2017/07/saints_corey_fuller_confide...
Corey Fuller looking good during Saints camp.
I always felt he didn't get enough reps with the Lions when he was there. Hope he makes an impact.
Supposedly Ford showed up to phins camp with a swollen knee, not good for someone on the roster bubble...
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-dolphins-ford-20...
Per Ian Rapoport: The Lions signed FA Nick Becton, as veteran OT Tony Hills informed the team he was retiring.
Just waiting for Lions to announce.
Edit: and there it is.
Kam Chancellor and Seahawks agreed to a 3 year /$36m deal with $25m in guarantees.
Glad Kam finally got a contract more appropriate for a player of his caliber.
This deal should have happened 2 years ago, glad to see him finally being compensated properly.
http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-buffalo-bills-training-camp-obs...
Tyrod to Logan should have happened more than once wellllll before this, that's my opinion.
Notgoodbob.gif
Surgery happened today.
If I'm remembering past fantasy players with meniscus injuries correctly, typical post-surgery recovery timeline is 6-8 weeks.
Son of a bitch, meniscus injuries are terrible.
Baron got 2 tackles in last night.
Shentel lost the channel for the entire game when I tried to watch it last night. Every other channel worked fine.
Good news for Kyle Fuller at camp.
http://chicago.suntimes.com/football/bears-kyle-fuller-on-lost-16-season...
Losing his fifth year guarantee has to hurt but hopefully he really steps up this year.
Damn thought he had a few more seasons in him.
He was a great player. A great Hokie Ambassador to the NFL
Chuck Clark and Vinston Painter sightings in the skins Ravens game
Kyle Fuller playing for the Bears. Needs a good preseason.
Haven't watched the game but the lads on reddit seem to think Logan Thomas is having a good game. 2 catches for 22 yards I think off 5 targets and one was batted down and one was over thrown. The other one is just listed as incomplete on espn so I'm not sure if it was a drop or not. Antone Exum is also in the game for the Vikings
Bucky had one target in the game and it was apparently overthrown according to the ESPN tracker.
VT has to have the most former QBs who are TEs in the league.
3rd and Logan.....
2 for 22 yards not bad for a QB converting to TE...pun intended.
in other news, I did notice number 81 (Ryan Malleck) for the Ravens a lot in the 3rd and 4th quarter as a blocking TE, has a good chance of making the team or at least practice squad, lots of injuries on the TE front for the Ravens.
Sam Rogers and Woody Baron playing tonight. Haven't seen Baron but Sam MF Rogers is in playing punt return blocker and doing some FB blocking (not getting a lot of push) they also had a pass in the flats set up for him but a DL for the Cowboys knocked the ball down way in the backfield.
You saw more than I did. I only saw him in as a fb in the last minute of the game. He blocked his man okay on a running play that the tackle missed his assignment.
Since I'm not a huge NFL guy, I only care about my fantasy team and Hokies playing I really just watch what those players are doing not entire field.
I was looking forward to the E60 piece on Kam this morning, but looks like he got bumped for Ezekiel Elliot.
Lame
Kam's story was the second segment. Just finished.
Yeah I obviously spoke too soon. I didn't really know what the structure of an E60 episode was, seemed like they were just gonna focus on Elliot the whole time
Right there with you! We skipped early church to watch Kam, and for a minute there I thought God was laughing at us.
Bucky had a decent game: 2 targets 2 catches, 54 yards total and a TD
EXUM: 4 tackles and a great defended pass.
Bucky caught the ball and fell down.
For the TD his first catch just before he was tackled after a decent gain.
For those of you who missed it:
Ford Officially on IR with Dolphins.
Fuck
I had to look up specifics:
Injured Reserve
Teams can place any number of players on injured reserve (technically: "reserve/injured list"). Any player placed on the IR list counts against the cap, but not against the roster limit. These players are ineligible to play again (for the same team) during the ongoing season. They may not practice with the team at any time, but can attend team meetings, and generally be around the team as much as they like.
They still get paid and can bring back 1 during the season but that is all.
Isn't the new rule they can bring back 2.
I've seen Kendall return a couple punts in the skins game. 2nd was better than the 1st. Kinda weird seeing him receiving punts, but so long as he's contributing, I'm happy.
He was second in line behind Crowder fielding punts when I was at training camp last weekend. Look for him to be the guy if Crowder gets hurt. Assuming the muff doesn't get him pulled.
Eh, Kendall just muffed no. 3
Because you talked about it!!
Woody Baron got some love from Daryl moose Johnson!!
Awesome touchdown by Bucky last night, but can anyone tell me why ESPN lists his college as VMI under his profile? What the eff
Any mention of his 6'13" height?
Bad news tonight, Tyrod left his game and is in concussion protocol.
This is the important weekend. Over 1,000 players will be cut in next few days. I will try and keep up but they happen fast. If anyone sees a cut or signing of a Hokie let me know and I'll add it to the list once it's official. Hope for a good weekend because I'm not so optimistic about this years Hokies in the NFL.
If anyone wants to see projected final rosters for every team, ESPN has taken a shot at them here. No guarantee that it's accurate but it does seem likely that quite a few Hokies are on the cusp.
Ken Ekanem got waived by the Broncos. Hope he at least gets a practice squad spot from someone.
Thanks for heads up.
Chuck Clark and Ryan Malleck have made the ravens roster. Malleck was especially a surprise because my Ravens had brought in a bunch of tight ends (but no ex qbs)
According to the official roster they aren't down to 53 yet.
I didn't expect to type this but it looks like Sam Rogers got waived by the Rams.
What!?
Yep, not sure what happens but he was only FB on team and they drafted him so..... maybe they will resign him or add to practice squad?
Woody Baron (Cowboys), Nigel Williams(Bills), Laurence Gibson (Texans) have been cut
EDIT:
On a positive note, Logan Thomas makes the Bills as a TE! Taylor to Thomas = Super Bowls
Where you seeing all these? Can't find any official cuts for them yet.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-roster-cuts-tracker-t-j-ward-repo...
Got the Thomas one off Twitter (Mike Clay). Wanted to see if the Bills had finished their cut downs after seeing Thomas wasn't on the list
Bucky made the Vikings roster!
RELATED (literally): Trey Edmunds made the 53 in Nawlins.
Good for him - especially since it's been a tough couple of days to be a former Hokie...
Great article here:
Trey Edmunds
Ryan Malleck Cut.
Nick Becton CUT.
Vinston Painter CUT
Jonathan McLaughlin CUT
Corey Fuller on IR
Only
1615 players left with more cuts coming. They meant to cut Ryan Mallet, judging by the Twitter responses...
(hint: the fans don't think highly of Ryan Mallet)
Vikings Cut Bucky Hodges.
No they didn't. He made the 53 man roster.
Vikings 53 man roster
I trust Field Yates sources.
And for clarity, they cut him to make room for Blake Bell.
Thanks, seen some say he has a concussion too, so is also getting an injury settlement payment along with the cut.
He'll probably make Practice Squad.
Him and Rogers. But to have three out of four Hokies Drafted this year sidelined sucks.
As a Vikings fan I find this doubly upsetting.
Ryan Malleck to Raven's practice squad.
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bs-sp-ravens-pr...
Sam Rogers and Ryan Malleck officially make practice squads.
Looks like Bucky will be Vikings IR with a full cut possible or if another TE doesn't work he might make the squad later.
Duane Brown is still holding out and likely won't play in first week or two.
And we have lost another one folks, Darryl Tapp cut from Saints. Cut to make room for Waiver wire pickups, may resign with team soon though.
So for week one we have only TEN Hokies who might see a snap. This is the worst year since I started keep track.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2017-pff-all-preseason-team/?u...
Bucky made preseason all star team, like to see if he clears waivers or not.
https://amp.ncaa.com/amp/news/football/article/2017-09-07/colleges-most-...
NFL numbers by college. Hokies sits tied for 26th alongside UCONN for number of players in the NFL. LSU sits at the top with fifty which is just absurd.
Wade Hansen is playing LT for the Elecom Kobe Finies in Japan
Wow good find.
Kendall Fuller with a forced fumble and a pass break up in the first half for the Skins. Almost picked it off
Add a TFL to his day
Not only is Trey Edmunds on the Saints' 53, he's the kick returner. So happy for that dude.
Good call by the Vikings. They need a year to teach him how to stay on his feet after catching a ball.
That and how to play TE, he was a WR last year.
Yea you clearly didn't watch him play or grade out this preseason.
Nope, the only highlight I saw was his TD. The wife puts up with my college football/basketball obsession and my being a packer fan. But puts her foot down on watching preseason games just to try and watch former hokies make the team.
He was 4 thrown at 4 catches for 72 yards and a TD. Two catches he caught and either fell or was tackled righ away, one he ran for an additional 10-15 yards. He also graded out in the high 70's for TE blocking.
but actually is panthers.
Exum just got waived by the Vikings to make room for their 3rd QB
Wow so Hokies went from 2 on roster to zero in two weeks.
What a bunch of assholes. Go Pack Go
So this NFL season is just brutal for Hokies. We are down to 9 guys who MIGHT see the field this weekend. I think this is the worst I've seen in a long time. We gotta get these NFL numbers up.
It kind of makes sense though with the type of teams we were churning out for about 4 or 5 years there. Before last year, the last time we had put more than 3 players in the draft was 2010. As short as the average NFL career is, we have to get back into routinely putting
6 or 74-6 guys in the League every year, and I think we're pretty close to that now.Edit, fact checked myself
2012 was a huge miss for blue chips. We took in six 4* athletes, which roughly translates to 4-5 expected draftees.
Nobody from that class was drafted.
Yes and no. We have the same number of NFL guys as teams that don't even come close to high recruit classes. While yes to get the 30-45 NFL players we need to recruit better,it's an anomaly to only have 9 guys on active rosters with the recruit classes we did.
Injuries have plagued us:
Ryan williams
David Wilson
Isaiah Ford
Jerod Evans
Kyshoen Jarrett
Danny Coale
...I feel like I'm missing a few.....
Lee Suggs
Kevin Jones
...the NFL RB curse seems to follow us
Bucky might get a main roster call up for the Panthers. Greg Olson broke his foot in today's game. Fingers crossed that Bucky gets his shot
So I should probably drop Olson from my fantasy team and go ahead and pick up Bucky?
I don't know why Greg just doesn't put a cleat on that third leg and get back out there.
Sorry if you don't get this.
https://www.google.com/amp/deadspin.com/remember-when-greg-olsen-and-his...
Haven't heard that in a long time. Nice pull. (Pun intended.)
Malleck was cut from the Ravens PS the other day.
https://twitter.com/Ravens/status/907605344817479681
So I had a chance to speak with Big Jon yesterday at my gym again. I mentioned before that I live in the same town that he grew up in and I had a chance to talk to him the week before he left for Arizona, and as of yesterday I spoke with him the week after he got back. He said that he really learned a lot but that it was tough being so far away from home. He mentioned though that he is in contact with several other franchises and that he is meeting with the Giants this week...
Now living in Greenville SC I'm in the heart of Clemson country and so naturally the game came up too. I asked him how he felt about the game and how he felt JJ would handle the pressure from Clemson's front four. He mentioned 3 things worth repeating...
1. He said JJ would be perfectly fine. He said that he is as cool as they come under pressure and as a result he will make great decisions, even in the face of a big time pass rush like Clemson's.
2. As a result of this he actually predicted a high scoring game. With the full playbook coming out he expects Corn and JJ to be able to put up points.
3. Now this he brought up himself. He actually expressed so much confidence in JJ that he made sure to stress just how involved he was in the QB competition last year. He made it clear that Fu's comments weren't just coach speak or motivating tools but that our guy was a very serious contender in 2016.
Darryl Tapp back on the Saints Roster, re-signed today.
Wait is he on the roster or did he resign?
Kyle fuller played lights out in the Bears win and had a late pass break up that was crucial. Kendall Fuller just had a pick against Carr.
Kendall Fuller just forced his second fumble of the season. He's responsible for three turnovers (two fumbles and a pick) in three games.
Ryan Malleck re-signed to Ravens PS.
Logan Thomas sighting in the Bills game, Tyrod overthrew him.
Vinston Painter signed to Arizona Cardinals Practice squad.
Logan Thomas gets his first NFL reception from Tyrod Taylor.
Malleck cut from the Ravens PS again.
http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/transactions.html
He just can't catch a break anywhere.
I'd like to see Duane Brown on the sidelines at VT.
Kendall fuller just sealed the redskins win with an interception.
Son of a
Kendall Fuller got his second career INT to seal the deal for the Skins against San Fran
Say, is his jersey available for purchase??
I think you have to do the customizable one. I searched his name on NFL Shop and the only results were the 00 blank jerseys. I got one last year and he changed his number on me so now I have a throwback
Jerod Evans is getting a workout for the Green Bay Packers.
PLZ
He has healed enough? I thought he was going to be on IR?
My guess is at the most he would be a practice squad addition that's assuming his tryout goes well. It's been what 10 plus weeks since he got hurt.
Yeah, the Packers tend to only dress out two QBs each game when Rodgers is healthy. They just promoted Joe Callahan to the active roster, and McCarthy, at least, likes him a lot. If Hundley puts up as bad of numbers after a week of practice with the 1s as he did after Aaron went out, Jerod might have a shot to make the active roster (assuming he makes it past the workout in the first place).
Awesome. I hope he can make the most of it.
IT'S ABOUT TIME A HOKIE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH A TEAM IN THE NFC NORTH NOT NAMED THE BEARS, LIONS, OR VIQUEENS!!
Tyrod to Logan Thomas for 6!
The cycle is complete
Duane Brown ends his holdout, back with the Texans.
VT db's always good in run support.
Tampa Bay Bucs sign Darryl Tapp.
Nick Becton signed to Chiefs practice squad.
Really sad news. Logan's daughter, born six months premature, passed away yesterday four days after her birth.
https://twitter.com/LoganThomasSr_6/status/923637524446277632
He missed a day of practice but is back at work. Praying for him and his family to get through this.
Plays one game back with the Texans at Seattle now moves to Seahawks roster.
Trey Edmonds just picked up a garbage time rushing TD for New Orleans.
So happy for that dude.
And Tyrod got benched after 6 punts and an interception. No wings for you.
Vinston Painter signed to Cardinals active roster.
Look for Kam Chancellor to be put on IR and done for the year later today.
F-k!
Kendall Fuller just picked off Eli Manning.

Vinston Painter released by Arizona.
Malleck picked up by Texans per a couple outlets.
Oh yea well mine had a link.
We can both drink. I won't mind.
Ryan Malleck to the Texans practice squad.
https://scout.com/nfl/texans/Article/Houston-Texans-Add-DeAndrew-White-T...
http://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/12/17/ndamukong-suh-couldnt-sack-tyrod-taylor-so-he-punched-him-in-the-face/
Suh still can't seem to beat or take down Tyrod so he is now resorting to punching Tyrod. Luckily the Hokies and the Bills continue to beat the pants off the Dolphins and son of a gun Suh.
Even better Logan Thomas is now the teams third string QB in addition to playing TE.
Suh was looking right at Tmobile when he clobbered him.
Jerod Evans has been released by Green Bay.
Another ESPN article said they promoted him to 3rd-string QB off the practice squad, but like you I would trust the packers media release more than an ESPN release.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21818693/green-bay-packers-shut-rodge...
That's a shame, I thought Green Bay's practice squad was a great landing spot for him to learn to be a pro-style QB. Saw him on the sideline of the Monday night game vs. the Lions a few weeks back and thought about how great it must be to stand on the sideline and learn from Rodgers as he was trying to bring Hundley up to speed. Hope he can land on his feet somewhere.
Laurence Gibson signed to Brown's practice squad.
Browns Practice Squad
Love me some T-Mobile. He's always been the kind of guy that makes you proud to be a Hokie.
Did they end up making the playoffs??
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=AFC+playoff+standings
Edit: Appreciate the downvote!
That wasn't me.
So they have to win out (against NE) and Ravens drop one. π¬
Awesome!
Got his first catch too!
Kyle Fuller figured it out this season and has taken huge steps forward as an NFL corner, and with perfect timing as he is in a contract year. Very likely the man will get paid and have a great career moving forward.
Per Schefter per Field Yates, looks like Kendall is headed to KC
Kendell just tweeted that he's safe and its not him who got traded! So either he's right or the Redskins are fucking with him. Which isn't out if the question.
https://twitter.com/RedditCFB/status/958556543468867584
The fact that Kendall tweeted he was trying to find out like everybody else, took a three minute break to presumably call his agent/front office, and then tweeted that he was safe makes me believe he's staying
What's ridiculous is he wasn't really sure it wasn't him. That the Skins would trade him and not have told him yet.
Given Schefter's strong track record and the Skins penchant for organizational disfunction, I'm gonna go with the latter.
EDIT: Schefter has since doubled down with another tweet.
So the Skins traded for Alex Smith and made it happen by jettisoning Kendall Fuller?
As an Eagles fan, this season just keeps getting better.
For some reason I thought you were a huge panthers fan and that your avatar picture was a VT in Panthers colors at one point. Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else.
Huge is overselling
My parents are from Philly and moved to Raleigh after college. Grew up an Eagles fan long before the Panthers even existed. Adopted the Panthers as the hometown team (same with the Hurricanes in hockey) but I'll always be an Eagles fan at heart. My favorite players growing up were Reggie White and Randall Cunningham.
Honestly think this is a good move for Kendall. Chiefs have a better defense, better overall team, and it gets him away from the organizational incompetence of the Redskins.
Somebody is getting the run around...
I can hear the music
Seems to be a good sport about it at least.
And now I can truly root for his success.
The fact that this trade signifies that Cousins is all but gone means this is probably a good for Kendall. The Redskins are probably on the way down and Kendall gets to go be a top guy on a playoff caliber defense
I'm so damn sick of the Redskins. I wish I could honestly say I'm done with this team, but you and I both know I will watch all 6 wins and all 10 losses again next year and the next year and the next year and the next year and the next year and the next ye
One less coverage guy for the Cowboys to worry about next season!
Never mind, disregard this.
Dadi Nicolas obtained by Cleveland Browns via trade.
