So it wasn't quite the month that we were all hoping for recruiting wise with the close of Spring practice, there were a decent number of names from the last list that committed elsewhere (Jamal Elliot, Dyami Brown, Antwan Reed, Jamarcus Chatman, Payton Wilson) and we didn't quite have the rush of commits we would have hoped for, but we did get a re-commit from DeJuan Ellis after a brief de-committment, and recently added WR Darryle Simmons who is actually our highest rated recruit of the class so far, so not all is lost. I'm wondering if a lot of recruits may be in a wait and see mode to see if the Fuente-Foster union is as amazing as we all hope, or if last year was more of a fluke. That would just put that much more emphasis on winning game sin the Fall, which is what we all want anyway. And if we do have another impressive season next year it would be fun to go after some flips before signing day (looking at you, Payton and Dyami).
Below is a list of recruits that we seem to be in the running for (warm/CBs on 247, recent visitors, articles, etc.). The wishlist is a combination of who I predict we could possibly land as well as a little wishful thinking (Ohonba, Gervin, Thompson, etc) but still trying to address our needs in this class. Feel free to debate, question, advise.

If we keep all of our current commits and land all of the recruits on the wishlist, that would be a class of 26 players with an overall composite score of 0.8780.
I am also keeping a list of kids who I am hopeful that we can flip, but for this list I kept it to uncommitted recruits. Happy Monday and happy TKPing!

Too many 3 stars. Not enough from VA. AAC coaches can't recruit.
/s
Don't think anyone is complaining about not landing VA talent. Talent is down in the state this year besides the top 3-4 kids and it's good to see that Fuente and co. are expanding recruiting efforts outside of the state and finding success.
That being said, it would be nice to see an uptick in caliber coming off a 10 win season, a win over an SEC team in the bowl game (yes it matters even if it was just Arkansas), and an exciting new offense that can score a bunch of points.
Overall, I'm happy with our class. I expect some rating jumps for a lot of our commits. Still, would like to see us land some bigger fish especially taking into account the success we had last season.
I'd honestly expect some of them to go down based on recent combines they attended. Patterson has the elite 11 platform to make a name for himself, but have to keep in mind other former commits like Andrew ford were invited to the elite 11, which is really 23ish kids who get a shot to compete for the elite 11 nomination.
I don't think anyone will go down, no one is that highly rated. I'd expect Ellis to go up now that he classifies himself as an athlete.
ND is pushing pretty hard for Peoples, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him bump a bit.
Thompson ran a bad 40 at this last camp but I don't think he's rated too high to drop from it.
4 of 7 committs are really close to 4 star level per 247.
Darryle Simmons 0.8833
DeJuan Ellis ATH 0.8796
Chamarri Conner 0.8789
Quincy Patterson 0.8708
Sure, they're high 3 stars. I wouldn't call that highly rated. Their performances aren't going to drop them from there. A mid 4 star would have a rating drop from a bad camp, a high 3 star isn't expected that.
If it matter to you, we already have 3 ESPN 300 recruits committed. Our recruiting class ended up with 2 of those this past cycle.
And we have 0 4 stars per 247 even though we had 9 last year. The difference is ESPN is less reputable
Yeah but this time Hooker and Farley were ranked 400+. Senior season film usually generates a good amount of movement
That is correct. And Farley didn't sky rocket up the rankings until the post season all star game he participated in.
Really would like to know what Vice is up too. Just wondering. I know lineman are hard to predict from film but is there anything going on before summer camps here?
Going to be a big year for him as both a coach and a recruiter. Need to see solid improvements in both areas.
Decent chance with John Morgan. Not a PSU lean.
I'm sorry, I just can't handle this much information in this kind of format. REMEMBER THE CHALLENGER!!!

This is awesome, thanks for doing this. Maybe we can talk offline and you can give me a tutorial on how to do this for future posts.
It's pretty straightforward so I'll explain it here:
I'm sure Joe has other table classes (styles) on here, but this is one I just pull from Joel's statistics posts.
I read this as fullback recruiting wish list. Missing Sam already...
ESPN thinks a little more of our recruiting class than 247...

I thought Patterson was classified as a QB, not ATH. Not helping your case there four-letters.
This is a reclassification following his de-commitment/re-commitment. It is actually correct.Nevermind. Was thinking of Ellis. I'm an idiot.
That was Ellis, unless I missed where Patterson did it too
