WaPo Article on Hokies' 2018 WR Target Daniel George

George visited Virginia Tech unofficially this school year and immediately loved the campus, he said in a recent phone interview. He plans to take an official visit over the summer.

He developed a quick connection with Penn State offensive recruiting coordinator Josh Gattis, and the two text regularly.

Friends on the North Carolina football team have described the atmosphere in Chapel Hill as one where George could excel, he said. A Louisville assistant coach began recruiting George years ago when he was at West Virginia, and maintained a strong connection after joining the Cardinals' staff.

The final contenders, especially the Terps, all have a common theme: they're relatively close, at least more so than Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois, other schools that have extended scholarship offers.

"I want family and friends to be able to come and see me play," he said.

if he'll have to catch a bus or wait in the airport to get home for a holiday.

That ain't Blacksburg! But College Park is a dump.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Good thing there is the daily Mega bus route:

NEW YORK, N.Y. (Nov 22, 2010) – Christiansburg/Blacksburg/Roanoke residents can now travel to Washington and Knoxville, Tenn., for as low as $1. Megabus.com, a city-to-city, express bus company recently named Washington as its fifth hub and will begin daily service to and from 11 cities including Christiansburg/Blacksburg/Roanoke on Dec. 15.

Also there is the Home ride bus every weekend up to DC

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Sure beats the ride board that was up in the SU when I was there!

Not sure when you were last in CP, but it's changing a lot and will continue to do so.

This kid actually went to the middle school I teach at in DC. He wasn't one of my students but I talked with one of the fitness teachers who had him and the teacher said he had "grown man" speed as an 8th grader. Also said he has a good family, and mama is all about the education. Would love to see him in O&M but I'm not confident it'll happen.
