Just saw this tweet and figured I'd share it here since I'm sure most of us contributed to the stats. Also, a nice little write up about VT plates in and outside of VA:
The 18,072 Virginia Tech license plates issued as of June 2012 beat the combined total of the next seven schools. http://t.co/VQhvb1IawJ— virginia_tech (@virginia_tech) September 17, 2013

Ive had one since I found out i got in! back in 04
THEY HAVE TEXAS PLATES NOW?! I wish I would have heard about those before I got my car registered and plates down here last Friday... So much for being done with making myself legal down here. At least the DMVs are less frustrating down here than they are in VA.
Methinks your registration is about to expire...
Which bookstore did you get the alumni frame from?
Oh gosh...I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure I got it from Tech Bookstore on Main St. the day after I graduated.
Pretty sure I have the same one. It's the one to the top right of this link.
What I am wondering is how did a VT Recliner and Sofa get included in a search for "license plate frames"?
i'm 99.9% sure i've seen your car recently. please submit a list of all places you've been in the last week. thanks.
I feel like I've seen this car in Northern VA, as well.
Haha, I do live in Northern VA - so it's possible to see me parked anywhere in the DC, Arlington, Reston areas.
If I see it again, I'll honk and wave. I'm in Arlington
To truly understand this license plate, I think you need to decompose it into parts, "her" and "roo". What do these things mean? It's a mystery, and therefore so is HERROO.
Would anyone be interested in a Fighting Gobbler plate? Virginia only requires like 10 or 15 people to sign up for a new design to have it approved. I know the husband really wants the Fighting Gobbler.
"The husband"
made me think of the Foe"rensics" for WCU
Unfortunately we can't.. Weaver retired the fighting gobbler and TV tech logos
not srs
Weaver didn't, the office of Licensing and Trademark in University Relations did.
I'm hoping that 1000 people who pay for plates might change his mind.
doubt it. He wants a unified brand image, oddly enough. It cost VT a lot of money to buy out the rights to that Logo, from what i heard.
I have VT plates now but I have also helped contribute to UVA's stats. Unfortunately, the DMV stopped allowing me to renew both sets of plates due to "numerous complaints".
Is there a way for us to call and lobby for them to re-allowed? I feel like if someone is allowed to call and bitch and moan I should be allowed to call and up-vote them.
That's taking trolling to the commute; I'm impressed!
The same people that complained are likely the same ones that we all read about calling the cops on Tech fans at UVA home games.
you dont live or work in staunton do you?
Nope, I'm in Vienna. I've stopped in Staunton on my way to VT though a few times so it's possible you have seen these plates before there.
Found this little gem on the interwebs!
I was wondering if someone here had this! I saw this a few years back and nearly died laughing.
This picture was on the "Vehicle registration plates of Virginia" article on Wikipedia from 15 August 2008 until 20 March 2013, such as this version: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vehicle_registration_plates_of...
To every 'hoo I cut off while driving...

the picture didn't work but I'm assuming it's your avi. I thought about getting "NmyLANE" for mine but I don't think it would have worked since I think 6 is the limit for the graphics plates
yeah not quite sure why the pic wont show full size. I'm no master coder though...
Great Article. Georgia has Clemson plates, FSU plates, GT plates, and every SEC school plates, but not VT plates. Sounds like I have to talk to someone in the alumni association.
