Danny Coale Released from Cowboys

Really quite a shame, such a talent. Says it was due to him unable to stay healthy.

Coale's fall in Dallas is complete. It's unusual for a fifth-round skill player to be completely cut loose after only one season, but Coale has been unable to stay healthy. His next NFL catch will be his first.

They probably just thought he was cheating because he was always open so they cut him to avoid an investigation. Little did they know that Danny Coale is ALWAYS open.

Let's hire him as an assistant for our receivers. The man has secrets about getting open that must be shared, I'm sure of it.

...he's pretty much like the chuck norris of college football receivers.

You mean the Sam Rogers of college football receivers? Not sure who this Chuck Norris character you reference is.

I could get behind that

remember that time we set off the richter scale jumping to "enter, sandman"?

Upon hearing this news, a host of heavenly angels ripped their wings off and set them on fire with gasoline and matches.

Leonard. Duh.

Not a huge surprise to me. I'm only really surprised it took this long. Dallas is incredibly deep at receiver and Coale never really had a chance after breaking his foot last year. They fell in love with Cole Beasley and Danny became expendable. A team like my Steelers could really use him right about now though. Maybe he'll understand how to read a blitz and break off his route.

Rip his freaking head off!

This is pretty much why I'm not really sad to see him go, I mean I am...but I'm not. (Cowboys fan here) ...I knew with that injury he'd never really get a fair shot, so I'd rather see him do GREAT somewhere else rather than rot and be under used.

Quick! somebody call Dan Snyder and tell him that Danny Coale is still open, and available.

Yes! Send him to Washington!

Danny Coale is not a free agent. He is open for business.

Yeah I'm sure the Skins could appreciate and utilize the talent that he is

Our motto bringing spirit true, that we may ever serve you

The Panthers could use him BADLY!

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Heck yeah! #KeepPounding

I support Logan Thomas and make no apologies for it.

He has been known to be especially wide open in BOA Stadium. Then just imagine if they were playing the Ravens and Tyrod was in the stadium ... SO OPEN

wait a minute... yep, he just scored on FSU again!

Since Danny Coale is one of my all time favorite Hokies I thought I would make this my inaugural post. I think Danny is too sure handed (and always open) not to get picked up somewhere. I think the ravens could use a go to receiver since they got rid of Boldin.

Plus one for your inaugural post, and Danny Coale is from Virginia, he needs to be a Redskin, though I can cheer for the Ravens on the AFC side.

I can't believe the Patriots didn't/haven't picks him up. He's a bigger version of Wes Welker. Plus they need receivers. Bad!

...and no I'm not a Pats fan...

We put the K in Kwality

The cowgirls suck anyway..send Danny to New England or Denver.

The Cowgirls? Why hate on a Cheerleading squad?!?! I don't understand why fans of other teams in the NFC East besides the Cowboys don't like beautiful women. But hey, more power to y'all, the ugly ones are cheaper anyways.

sarcasm? or doesn't get that we refer to the team as the cowgirls?

He flipped it on him.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Sarcasm, calling the team the Cowgirls is weird since, as I pointed out, the Cowgirls is the cheerleading squad so it always sounds like non-Cowboys fans are hating on our hot cheerleaders. Unlike when I call the redskins the foreskins, because it would be very wrong to call a group of girls the foreskins.

Or you're calling them a Canadian metal band (How I Met Your Mother reference).

Oh shit, I think I just got lawyered.

I find calling them the Deadskins pretty funny, but I don't really have a specific team I pull for in NFL. I generally just pull for whoever I have playing on my Fantasy teams, former Hokies, and former LU Flames (not very many, Rashad Jennings is the most notable current NFL player).

No room on the Broncos. They are STACKED with Welker, Decker, DThomas, and Caldwell.

What a darn shame.

Seattle should pick him up right now so he can win the Super Bowl this year

It will NEVER happen, but I would love to see Boykin and Coale reunited in Green Bay. Rodgers could work some serious magic with those two. (Not disregarding Jones, Nelson, or Cobb, just sayin.)

Yeah, it won't happen. Goodell would say that two WOWBs on one team is an unfair competitive advantage.

Being a Pack fan, I'd love to see it though.

OK, I've tried and failed to figure it out... WOWB?

I'm going to go with Wide Open White Boys for 500 Alex.

Danny Coale AND Jordy Nelson. Mind = Blown

LEGS ALL AROUND!

I just read this in Archer's voice

The NFL is a wired deal. Many players who got drafted (the Boz, Eric Coach, etc etc) who never should have been and many who weren't who may have been great if given the chance. Coale, regardless of what happens in football, will no doubt be a huge success in life. That's who he is, and that's why we love him. Go Hokies, Go Danny!

ChicagoHokie

eh, I know everyone hates the Patriots, but thats his best bet for multiple reasons (and no, not just some Wes Welker comparison).
1) They have no receivers that are capable of holding on to the ball
2) Coale isnt overly physical, but with Brady's passing and the overall game plan, he wouldnt need to be
3) Belichick loves versatile players and CONSISTENT players. Both those words describe Coale quite well

Versatile - for real.. I mean, did you see him punt?

Cut your 2nd string punter and a backup WR, bring in Danny Coale and you get two for the price of one!

Generally in the NFL, the K is the backup P and vice-versa, so there's really no-one to cut. But he may very well be a better punter than the kicker, with a little more practice.

I really hope someone picks him up this season. It would be a shame to see him go out like this.

REALLY! My Patriots need to pick him up Brady would do wonders with a healthy Danny Coale.

I'll take him

He won't be out of a job for long. This also means that if he sees game action I can now root for him without feeling conflicted about wanting a Cowboys player to succeed

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

How about Danny Coale & David Wilson, together again!

On a happier note for former VT players, Roc Carmichael was signed by the Eagles from Houston's practice squad today.

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

I miss Danny Coale.

Very well done sir, one of the greatest Hokies of all time.

Apparently he's now parts of the Indianapolis Colts practice squad now. So at least he's ended up somewhere. Maybe now he can catch passes from Luck, and maybe follow out a similar career path to that of Coach Moorehead.
